Gerard Way is a 25 year old widower and has been for just over a year and a half, his husband was killed in what was called a mugging gone wrong, Gerard had moved to new york, trying to restart his life, with a newly achieved cartooning degree he goes off to a privit animation and cartooning party for work.

Mikey, Gerards brother, has for the last half a year told gerard that the best way to move on was to get back into the dating pool.

Frank Iero, is an intern at the same company Gerard is working for, and feels terible about the fact that he has a crush on the new guy, that recently lost his spouse, how can poor little frank get over his crush when it seems like someone (Mikey) is pushing them together.
