Isn't That Something

Once I was out of the hospital, I was happy to have told Gee and I know that Ray was happy too.
“I’m ready to go home,” I said. My leg wasn’t in a cast anymore due to the fact that their x-ray machine made it look like it was broke. But my ribs and that part of my lung were still fucked up. But since my lung was messed up I can’t stress myself out and absolutely no sex for two weeks. That killed Ray more than me but I’ll miss it for those two weeks.
“I know they are taking their precious time,” he said then kissing my cheek.
“With Christmas coming they want people to be safe. On top of that we are going to be with my family in the woods. They own a cabin like mansion in the park there,” he said. They released us and went home to start packing.
“Ray, do have to go?” I asked. He nodded and hugged my side that was cut on.
“I know that you are tired and want to be home but this is the only time my family is together like this.” This was true they were never like a traditional family like mine so I sucked it up. We drove there for the most part. Most of his family lived in the country side of New York and so it took a little while. Once we arrived there, it was already snowing there. I loved the snow so this was really nice for me. Ray’s nieces and nephews were out in the snow playing but I couldn’t play with them because on my ribs. I walked inside to see a huge Christmas tree with all colorful decorations and a star on top. I was in awe the whole time. I walk in to see Ray’s mother waiting for me.
“Crow please sit and rest I’m sure that you are hurting.” She said. I was a little bit but I ignore it. I was tried from the drive but not wanting to miss anything. I sit down before Ray’s mother and sister got on me. Ray puts our things away in one of the rooms and comes over to sit next to me.
“So what do you think?” He asks.
“I love it. It’s big but not too big,” I said. He grabbed my hand but something was in it. I pull my hand away only to see a diamond ring…I was so shocked.
“Ray-“
“Marry me?” He asked cutting me off.
