Danger Days

I awoke to the sound of distant chatter and mumbling from across the room. I kept my eyes closed and silently listened in trying to hear every word of their conversation. "I dunno Gee...do you really think she's alone?" "Yea I do Mikes it's just..after mom and dad I feel like we're connected. I mean Dr. D was nice enough to take care of us so why don't we do the same? Plus she's really smart." "Yea yea I know she is, I just don't want to be responsible for her death...bringing her into this life is like asking for suicide." I yawned and stretched signaling that I woke up and their voices died down. "Mormon' kiddo." Party said ruffling my curly hair. "Morning!" I said smiling up at him. Kobra kid walked up next and gave me a hint of a smile then turned and left. I could only guess that he was Mikes and party was Gerard. "What are we doing today?" I asked standing up pulling on my clothes so that they would straighten out. "We're going to zone three to check on a couple friends if ours, you're staying here and training." My face fell and I looked up at him my brow furrowed and lips in a pout. "I'm plenty trained though..." I groaned spinning around with my arms flying up and down. "Yea, that might be so but we need you here safe and sound." "Alright." I grumbled trudging off to find some food. "Err...we only have pup." Party said handing me a can. I groaned and started eating the food the taste bitter and unusual. "Great this stuff again." I mumbled eating more. He rolled his eyes and headed out Ghoul Kobra and Jet in his wake. "See ya later Dr. D. Send a broadcast letting the Killjoys know we're safe." He hollered grabbing his gear and heading to the car. I sighed and headed to Dr. D's station area, maybe he could keep me busy
