You Only Hear The Music When Your Heart Begins To Break

When we get back to my house Trick and William are in the kitchen eating breakfast. "Hey kids what's going on?" Trick asks. "Nothing just came back to get ready for school." I say as I grab a piece of toast off Tricks plate. He smacks at my hand but I grab it and dodge any further hits poking my tongue out. As I start to eat William starts to snicker to himself before asking "What happened to your neck Z?" My eyes widen and I immediately cover where I know the hickey would be with my free hand. Trick turns to look at me and shakes his head "What am I going to do with you?"
Gerard and I both blush before we make our way out of the room. "I'm sorry about that" I tell Gerard as we make our way upstairs. "It's ok" he smiles at me. We walk into my bedroom and I grab my uniform and make my way to the bathroom with Gerard's hand in mine.

The morning lessons drag on and on and I am anxious to see Gerard again. I race to the lunch room and walk straight to our table and slide myself sideways on his lap. "Hey sexy" I greet him and giggle as I peck him on the nose. "Hey you" he says as he wraps his arms around my waist. Just then Frank and his friends walk past and I hear him say "What a slut, she had my dick in her mouth the other night after begging for it and now she's moved on to Fatass." My heart stops for a moment as his friends all laugh and agree and Gerard pushes me off his lap and stands up. "What the fuck did you just say about my girlfriend" he hisses as he walks towards Frank and shoves him hard. Frank stumbles back into the next table and the whole lunch room is staring at us. Frank straightens up and gets in Gerard's face "What do you think you're doing queer" he spits in Gerard's face. Gerard hesitates for a second before throwing his fist into Franks already bruised face "How dare you disrespect her like that after you fucking raped her" he yells as he knocks Frank to the floor and jumps on him, continuing to pound his fist into his face. Franks friends stand back and watch like the cowards they are. I see Frank bleeding from his nose and lip so I rush over and grab Gerard's arm and beg him to stop. He slows his actions and turns to look at me and sees the tears streaming down my face. He stands up and grabs my face in his hands, wiping the tears away with his thumbs and shushing me quietly before pulling me into his chest. The lunch room is dead silent until Franks friends help him up off the floor and the teachers rush over having heard the commotion from the hallway, then it erupts into noise as people comment about what just happened. Gerard is ordered to the principals office along with Frank and I refuse to let go of his hand so I go along.
I am in shock as we enter the office and Gerard holds me close after he feels that I am shaking. "Baby it's ok. I'm sorry I scared you" he whispers in my ear as he tries to calm me down. The principal tells us to sit and then questions why I am there. I squeeze Gerard's hand tight as he explains what happened. At the end the principal looks shocked but remains stern as he says he can't allow that kind of conduct on school property and suspends both Gerard and Frank for four days. Seeing how shaken up I am he also dismisses me for the rest of the day. The secretary calls our parents (Trick in my case) and Donna turns out to be at work and gives permission for him to go with Trick. Trick shows up first and pulls me into a hug asking me what happened and if I'm ok. When he catches sight of Frank he tenses up and moves towards him. I catch his arm and say "Please don't. Gerard already hit him and I am not letting you get arrested for something stupid." He turns back to me and nods in agreement as the three of us make our way out to his car.
Once we get home I drag Gerard into the kitchen and wrap an ice pack in a towel and hold it to his swollen knuckles. He reaches his other hand up to stroke my cheek "I love you. I'm sorry baby." I look into his eyes as I say "it's ok you just frightened me. I never expected you to do that." I remove the ice pack and lean down to gently kiss his knuckles before replacing the ice pack.
We decide to go to my room and watch a movie and on our way past the living room I hear Trick on the phone saying "I'm gonna kill the kid. I swear I'm gonna kill him." I tell Gerard to wait for me in my room and walk into the living room. Trick hangs up the phone and turns to me. I cross the room to him and wrap my arms around him "I'm safe now Trick. Please just let this go, I can't have you taken away from me" I tell him as tears roll down my face. He rubs my back as he sighs and says "I know. I'm sorry but that kid needs to pay." "He's already paid, twice please just move past it." I feel him nod and we pull apart as I make my way up to my room to take care of my boyfriends hands.
