Until I lived my life

.

Gerard’s POV

I was sat at work losing the will to live when someone walked into my office. I looked up and saw it was Julie.
“Yesterday, why the fuck did you bring a homeless man into the club? Better still the shit which almost stole from us.” Julie said seriously and I sighed.
“Okay you don’t understand life on the streets. This time of year is fucking awful, being cold all the fucking time and having people ignore you isn’t something you don’t understand. Yes he almost bloody stole from us but he didn’t and to be honest I think it’s because someone brought him here and just left him.” I said and Julie frowned at me.
“But that’s not a excuse to bring him here.” Julie said and I raise my eyebrow at her.
“Well considering I’m the owner of this place and your just the manager I guess I’ll just have to pull rank and say I can bring whoever the fuck I want to bring into my clubs.” I said seriously and Julie looked down.
“Look he is a good man, I mean that daughter of mine was in trouble down that side of town last night and he helped her out and walked her home, there’s good in him but people just see him as a dirty homeless man.” I said and Julie looked at me shocked.
“Is Tallie okay?” Julie asked and I nodded.
“Shaken up a little but she’s okay.” I said and Julie smiled at me.
“Oh just so you know, we have a party booked in 2 weeks time with loads of bloody people.” Julie said and I nodded.
“That’s good. Need to make sure we have enough people on and make sure it doesn’t make the rest of the clubs short staffed.” I said and Julie nodded as she turned round and started doing whatever she is good at.

“I’ve don’t really care right now. Either you pay for what you booked or we’ll have to cancel and keep the money.” I said seriously as I sat round the island since I was fed up being sat at work and I wanted to try and spend some time with the kids.
“You’ve got until the end of the week and if the money isn’t there then I’ll have to cancel.” I said as I hung up the phone and groaned loudly just as Ewan walked into the kitchen.
“Everything Okay?” Ewan asked as he helped himself to a drink.
“Fan fucking tastic.” I said as I got up and went looking for my cigarettes.
“Tallie where’s my cigarettes?” I said as I walked in the sitting room.
“On the table.” Tallie said as she messed with her hair as her eyes were glued to the tv and I looked and frowned at what she was watching.
“Can I join you or do you want some space as you sound pretty stressed.” Tallie said as she looked at me.
“I just want some space, I’ll be back in soon.” I said and Tallie nodded as I walked out the room and went outside.
I was stood outside and was just pacing slightly up and down the garden when the door opened and shut and I looked up and saw Tallie.
“Is everything okay Dad?” Tallie asked and I nodded.
“Yeah everything is okay.” I said quietly although I had this horrible feeling inside of me which I haven’t had for a very long time.
“Is there anything me and Ewan can do?” Tallie asked as she walked over and hugged me which I returned and rested my chin on top of her head.
“There is But I know you two aren’t going to exactly change so it’s just better to say there nothing you can do.” I said and Tallie pulled back and frowned at me.
“What’s the matter Dad?” Tallie asked and I smiled at her as I kissed her forehead.
“Nothing sweetie, I’ll be okay.” I said quietly as I put my cigarette out and went inside.

I made sure the kids was asleep before I went out and I headed to a bar which I knew nobody knew me and I sat at the bar and thought about what I was just about to ruin.
“What can I get you sir?” The bar tender asked and I sighed loudly.
“Coke please.” I said quickly before I said something I would regret and the bar tender frowned at me but got my order.
“Well I wouldn’t of guessed someone like you would be in a place like this.” A voice said and I turned round and saw the man from the other day leaning against a bar as he smoked a cigarette.
“Full of surprises.” I said and the man chuckled as he put his hand up to the bar tender who nodded.
“So why you down here and not in one of you posh fancy clubs?” The man asked.
“Reliving old memories.” I said as the bar tender gave the man his drink and I just stared at it and the man frowned at me.
“Hey, he’s whatever code, don’t give him the good stuff.” The man said and the bar tender nodded and walked off.
“Dude you don’t want to relive those memories, there the worse.” The man said and I looked at him.
“If we’re going to keep on bumping into each other then I think a name is in order.” I said and the man chuckled.
“Frank.” He said and offered me his hand which I took and shook it.
“Gerard.” I said and Frank smiled.
“I know who you are and that was before I almost stole from your club. I mean a ass like yours, pretty hard to forget it.” Frank said and I chuckled as Frank put his cigarettes on the bar and I helped myself to one.
“Don’t worry, I’ll pay for a new packet.” I said and Frank nodded.
“Bitch you better.” Frank said and I chuckled as I started to smoke my cigarette.
“So, wanna go somewhere more quieter?” Frank asked and I frowned at him.
“I’m not looking for sex.” I said and Frank chuckled.
“Not yet anyway, but to talk or whatever because you look stressed.” Frank said and I rolled my eyes.
“Could do with getting out of here, my kids would kill me if they find out I’ve been to a bar.” I said and Frank smiled as he down his drink and picked his cigarettes up and put his coat on and watched me as I finished my drink and looked at him with a smile as we both walked out the bar.

“There’s a lot more to you that meets the eye isn’t there.” Frank said as we walked through the park slowly making our way back to mine.
“Yes there is and I’m not sharing that.” I said and Frank chuckled quietly and I looked at him as I took my scarf off and hand it to Frank which made Frank frown at me.
“You need it more than me.” I said and Frank smiled as he took the scarf and put it on and smiled slightly to himself.
“So you have kids.” Frank’s said and I frowned at him.
“Obviously.” I said and Frank chuckled.
“You look really young to be having teenagers.” Frank said and I rolled my eyes.
“I think I told you that it was a drunken night when I was 15.” I said and Frank stopped walking and looked at me.
“You had twins at 15?” Frank asked and I nodded.
“Yeah not all innocent considering my innocent looking face.” I said and Frank chuckled as he looked at me a bit more.
I looked down and started to walk and Frank started to walk and caught up with me.
“You have a drink problem.” Frank said and I stopped walking and turned round so I could look at him.
“What?” I asked and Frank stepped back slightly.
“You have a drink problem don’t you.” Frank said and I shook my head as I turned round and walked off.
“Hey.” Frank said as he jogged after me.
“Look I understand you don’t want to talk about it but trust me when I say nothing is worth a relapse.” Frank said and I scoffed.
“I’m not talking about my problems with you. I think I can walk myself back thanks.” I said as I turned round and walked off back towards mine.

I walked in the door where I found Tallie was in the kitchen getting a drink.
“Why aren’t you in bed?” I asked quietly.
“Because I needed a drink and I wanted to see if you was okay.” Tallie said as she lent against the side.
“Where was you Dad?” Tallie asked quietly.
“I went for a walk and I ended in a bar.” I said and Tallie looked at me.
“Don’t worry, I didn’t do anything okay. I’m still sober.” I said and Tallie nodded with a smile as she walked over to me and kissed my cheek.
“Go to bed okay.” I said quietly and Tallie nodded as she walked off and stopped and looked behind her.
“Night dad.” Tallie said and I smiled at her.
“Night baby.” I said and Tallie smiled as she went upstairs.
I looked down and sighed as I got my cigarettes and went out the front to smoke a cigarette since going in the garden creates a lot of noise since I need to get the door fixed but haven’t gotten round to it.
I was sat on the step when someone stopped by the house and looked up the path but they couldn’t get in the gate could only be opened by me and the kids.
“So this is where you live, fancy house is all what I got to say.” Frank said and I looked down.
“You following me now?” I asked.
“Nope, had to make sure you got back in one peace.” Frank said and I looked at him.
“Well thanks for that.” I said and Frank chuckled.
“Also you owe me cigarettes as well.” Frank said and I smiled as I stood up and picked my cigarettes up and walked over to the gate and opened it and handed the packet to him.
“All I Say is run before my daughter finds out I have given you my packet of cigarettes.” I said and Frank frowned at me.
“Yeah my daughter is the rebellious one out of the two although my son can be just as bad.” I said and Frank chuckled.
“Is that them looking out the window.” Frank said and I looked and caught both Ewan and Tallie spying on me.
“Yep, that’s me being spied on.” I said and Frank chuckled.
“Well I guess I’ll be seeing you soon.” Frank said and I smiled.
“More like stalking me.” I said and Frank smirked at me.
“I’ve got your back.” Frank said and I just rolled my eyes.
“Night Frank.” I said as I shut the gate.
“Night Gerard.” I heard Frank say and I heard him walk off and I couldn’t help but smile to myself as I went inside for late night questioning from the kids.
