Until I lived my life

.

Frank’s POV

“He was all la la la in his fucking posh suit and all that sort of shit.” I said as I smoked a cigarette with another person who was on the streets.
“Well you are just shit at getting alcohol, next time fuck the boss.” Jamie said and I rolled my eyes.
“It weren’t that simple okay. My client bloody left me without paying me which is why I couldn’t get any booze.” I said and Jamie just rolled his eyes at me.
“Look I’ve got to go, I have a thing so yeah I’m just going to leave.” Jamie said as he just walked off and I chuckled to myself as I walked to my spot to see if there was any kind soul that would give me some change or even better a hot drink since it was bloody cold outside since it was winter.

I was sat in my spot freezing my balls off when someone stood in front of me and I looked at them.
“Could you spare any change?” I asked trying not to let my teeth chatter but it didn’t work very well.
“I can’t do change but I can get you a hot drink and something to eat if you like that better.” The gentleman said and I smiled at him.
“That does sound good.” I said quietly as I frowned at the person as I recognize the hazel eyes from somewhere.
“Follow me then.” The gentleman said and I got up and followed him a couple steps behind him.
“Hey, can you slow down a little some of us are cold and have little legs.” I said and the gentleman looked at me and smiled and slowed down slightly and waited for me to catch up.
“What do you fancy?” The gentleman asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
“As long as it’s hot I don’t care.” I said quietly and the gentleman nodded as he pulled his phone out his pocket and started to speak about something.
I carried on following him until I recognize is area of the town and then we stopped at this bar and I looked at the gentleman who gestured for me to go inside and I went inside with the man following me.
I stopped walking and turned round and looked at the gentleman who was still on the phone.

“Why the hell did you bring him here Gerard?” A woman said and I recognized the voice as I turned round and saw the lady from last night leaning against the bar.
“It’s bloody freezing out there, can’t exactly let him freeze to death.” The man said as he walked over to the bar and the smell of chips filled my senses which made my stomach grumble loudly and I held my stomach hoping nobody heard but I looked up and saw the woman and the gentleman looking at me.
“If he steals something then don’t go blaming me.” The woman said and I looked down when the gentleman’s stare got too much.
“I don’t think he will, think last night was a act of what he knows best to survive.” The gentleman said and the woman huffed as she walked away with her high heels the only thing making a sound in the quiet bar.
“Here, got you some chips.” The gentleman said and I looked at him and I gingerly walked over and sat at the bar and he pushed the bowl of chips towards me as he got off the stool and walked round to the other side of the bar.
I couldn’t wait any long and I just stuffed my face with the chips.
“What drink would you like?” The gentleman asked and I looked at him as I swallowed my mouthful of chips.
“Coffee please.” I said and the gentleman smiled as he turned round and started to make the coffee and I couldn’t help but checked his ass out and I nodded my head as I quite like the look of his ass but right now the last thing on my mind was dealing with a booty call.
The gentleman turned round and put my coffee on the bar next to the bowl of chips and I looked at him and smiled.
“Why you being nice to me? I was the one who tried to steal alcohol from you last night.” I said and the gentleman smiled.
“Because it’s cold and I sure as hell know what it’s like to be out on the streets and not having anything and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.” The gentleman said and I frowned at him as I would never of guessed he was from the streets.
“How long was you on the streets for?” I asked quietly.
“2 very long years.” The gentleman said and I nodded as I looked down.
“What about you? I’m guessing you was a man who was comfortable in life considering the tattoos but something happen.” The gentleman said.
“I’ve been on and off the streets for like 4 years. It’s something I don’t talk about.” I said quietly and the gentleman nodded as his phone lite up and I looked and saw a picture of two kids who must of been teenagers and I looked at the gentleman who didn’t look old enough to have teenagers.
“Twins, never have them, especially when their teenagers.” The gentleman said and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“You don’t look old enough to have teenagers.” I said before I could stop myself.
“A very drunken night at the age of 15. Wouldn’t be without the buggers though.” The gentleman said and I smiled sadly.
“You got kids?” The gentleman asked.
“I did have kids.” I whispered and the gentleman sensed it was a sensitive subject so he dropped it just as the door opened and a girl walked in.

“I thought you was coming back with food.” The girl said and the man rolled his eyes.
“I am coming back.” The man said and the girl looked at me and she reminded me a lot of a female version of me.
“Oh and in about 5 minutes you’ll get a call from the school.” The girl said and the man sighed loudly.
“I’m going to fucking kill the pair of you later, I’ll be back in a hour also can you grab some more coffee as well please thanks.” The man said and the girl frowned.
“Don’t make me ask again.” The man said as he took the empty bowl of chips away and the girl stuck her tongue out and turned round and walked out the bar.
“Troublesome I take it.” I said and the man nodded.
“Just don’t get me started on my two as for her, she’s a fucking nightmare.” The man said and I chuckled.
“I need to get going, thanks for this I really appreciate it.” I said as I stood up and finished my coffee and the man looked through his pockets and gave me some money.
“You better spend this on food and coffee and not drugs.” The man said seriously and I smiled at him.
“Thanks, don’t worry drugs aren’t my thing anymore.” I said as I put the money in my pocket and turned round and went to walk out.
“Tuesday.” The man said and stopped as I turned round and looked at him confused.
“Come here on a Tuesday and you can have food and a coffee and someone to talk to if you want someone to talk to.” The man said and I smiled at him.
“Why thank you.” I said as I turned round and walked out the bar and went about my day before the night came.

———————————————————————————————————————
I was just finishing with a client and I was walking out a alleyway when I heard some people shouting and I frowned as I followed the shouting and I saw it was a girl looking upset and arguing with a man who looks a hell a lot older than her and I saw the man raise his hand and before I could stop myself I was playing the hero.
“Hey.” I said loudly enough which made the man stop and look at me.
“Fuck off short ass.” The man said and I looked at the girl who looked terrified.
“Don’t fuck with me.” I said seriously the protective side of me showing even though this wasn’t even my kid.
“This doesn’t concern you.” The man said and I walked over to them and stood between the girl and the man.
“You hitting a woman does concern me now fuck off.” I said seriously and the man scoffed as walked away and I put my attention to the girl.
“Hey, you alright.” I said and the girl sniffed as she looked at me.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” The girl said quietly.
“No you’re not. Would you like a coffee or whatever?” I said and the girl shook her head as she looked down.
“I just want to go home.” The girl sobbed and I nodded.
“Do you want me too walk you home?” I asked and the girl looked at me unsure.
“I’m not going to hurt you okay, yeah I look scary and all that but I wouldn’t hurt you and also women don’t float the boat for me.” I said and the girl smiled as she sniffed.
“Yeah I would like you to walk me home.” The girl said quietly and I smiled at her and walked her home.

We got to the posh part of town and the girl patted her pockets and I could see she was starting to panic.
“I can’t find my keys.” The girl said as she went o look through her bag when a boy showed up.
“Where the fucking hell have you been! Me and dad have been worried sick.” The boy said as he pulled the girl into a hug as she sobbed into his shoulder.
“I found her down my end of town.” I said and the boy looked at me with a frown.
This man showed up and I groaned quietly to myself as it was the same guy from earlier and he quickly looked over the girl and then he looked at me.
“Ewan take your sister inside.” The man said seriously and the boy nodded and took the girl inside as the man glared at me.
The man quickly turned his head to check the kids had gone inside and then he turned back and looked at me.

“You better not have touch a fucking hair on her head.” The man said seriously.
“I promise I never touched her. I just stopped someone else beating the living shit out of her though. You need to remind both of them that the streets this time of night is not the place for your beautiful children.” I said and the man frowned at me.
“You think I don’t know that?” The man said seriously.
“Look I’m not here to give you parenting tips all I’m saying is that you need to keep a better eye on your daughter.” I said and I turned round and I went to walk away when the man spoke.
“Thank you.” The man said and I turned round and looked at him.
“It’s fine. But she needs a better choice in men or just go for kids her own age.” I said and the man sighed.
“She’s a pretty girl and I know if that was my little girl I wouldn’t want her hanging around the rough area.” I said and the man nodded as he looked at me.

“I’ll be seeing you on Tuesday.” I said as I turned round and carried on with my night.
