Silence Is Golden. (Frerard)
Seven.
Gerard's POV
It was nearly two in the morning when I heard the down-stairs door violently slam shut, at first I thought it was just our mother... until I heard his voice. Like a punch to the chest, my breathing was restricted. Panic coursed through my entire being and Mikey was laying there dead to the world, oblivious to anything that was happening and was about to happen.
"Where the fuck is everyone!?" his voice echoed throughout the otherwise silent house... "Gerard!" he shouted in an indignant tone of voice, causing Mikey to wake up "What the fuck is going on" he mumbled sleepily at first but then took in the sight of my terror "Gerard what's wrong?" he questioned worriedly... but I couldn't get the words out I could hear his heavy stomping descending down the hall.
"Is that... dad?" Mikey's question lingered in the air, unanswered until our door crashed open. Revealing the face of our, undoubtedly enraged father, who wasted no time in ripping me out of my bed and down onto the floor, the sound of Mikey's protesting is the only thing heard at that moment.
"Your scum of a mother left me for dead" he spat, kicking me in my ribs. "Where is the dozy cow?" he demanded, and when I didn't answer he raised my head by my hair "Answer me, you mute fucking half-wit" he spat, I only shrugged my shoulders, this resulted in a punch to the face "Dad!" Mikey cried "Please stop!" he pleaded, trying to rip our dad away from me.
"Not until one of you tell me where your fucking mother is!" he shouted. I could see the fire in his eyes... that showed no mercy. "We don't know! she left at seven!"
As if on cue the door opened and closed again "Why is your father's car in the drive?" she slurred "You're lucky this time. Kid." he spat before stomping out of our room and down the hall. Mikey quickly got up and locked the door before running to my aid.
"Jesus Christ, I'm so sorry Gee" he sobbed while pulling me into his chest "He's back" I whimpered fearfully, trying to ignore the shouting from down the hall. "I know..." there was nothing much he could say... because as much as we both want to believe it will be okay... we know it won't.
