If You Marry Me, Would You... (Frerard)

Chapter 8

They woke up in each other's arms, fully dressed, their hair messy, Gerard's face in Frank's hair, Frank's face in the other's neck, and they slowly opened their eyes to the scent of the other man's body.

They could remember last night very clearly. After they returned home from the alley Gerard carefully took care of Frank's wrist, making sure to stop the bleeding and bandage it properly before they kept kissing roughly, hungry for the other's lips, and fell to the bed roaming each other's torsos until they fell asleep exhausted.

Frank smiled against Gerard's neck at the memory of yesterday's events and started kissing around, exploring the side of his neck slowly with his tongue.

Gerard moaned quietly and hugged the man closer to his chest, leaning his head back to give Frank more access.

The younger licked a thick stripe up his neck to his jaw and bit there lightly, enjoying the low growl escaping Gerard's throat.

And suddenly the man was rolling on top of him, pinning Frank down to the bed as he straddled his hips and leaned down to kiss him passionately.

Frank moaned and curled his fingers in Gerard's hair, until he bit the other's lower lip playfully and Gerard groaned, taking Frank wrists to hold them above his head (being extra careful with the wounded one).

They kept kissing. The passion and eagerness slowly died down until they were simply brushing their lips together gently, Gerard's hips moving just barely over Frank's stomach, and once in a while it made him moan into the younger's mouth with pleasure.

Eventually they pulled away and just grinned at each other.

"Good morning," Frank beamed, his perfect white teeth making Gerard's heart flutter. He felt as if a million butterflies were erupting from his soul right onto Frank's glowing face. The sunlight made his features and curves show, and that drove Gerard crazy to think it took him two weeks to notice how the small man could make him feel.

"Good morning," he smirked and kissed him again before climbing off of him and going to get ready.

As he was washing his face two hands slipped around his waist and a warm pair of lips was pressing to the back of his neck. He smiled at the mirror at the face that appeared behind him.

"What's the rush?" Frank's quiet voice spoke up.

"I wanna go see Bob today," Gerard replied, turning around in Frank's arms and pressing himself to the younger man. "I need to talk to him."

"Okay," Frank replied and pecked Gerard's lips. "Want me to come with you?"

"Do you want to?"

"Well, I'm kinda tired today, but I'd really like to check out the new guitars in his store."

"Okay, you're coming along then," Gerard smiled, tucking Frank's hair backwards and leaning down to kiss him softly. "Why didn't I kiss you two weeks ago?" he whispered.

"Because it would be kinda creepy to french a guy you just met after saving his life, don’t you think?" the younger whispered back and pressed a little closer.

"Yeah, I guess it would," Gerard chuckled, and it caused Frank to blush. God, Gerard was so cute. He almost couldn't believe that that was the same person who had beaten that boy last night in the restaurant so violently.

He pushed the memories of last night aside (well, some of them), and forced himself to concentrate at the beautiful person in front of him. He liked Gerard. Gerard could make him smile, and Gerard was an amazing kisser.

He wondered how far their relationship could get. Even if he had no idea how much of a trouble Gerard's brother actually was, he was still worried about the man. Michael seemed dangerous. Michael BIT him. It was clear on the side of his neck, refusing to disappear even after two weeks of not reopening the wound.

He was starting to get worried that the scar of the bite will stay forever, permanent on his skin, reminding him and Gerard how Michael violated him, hurt him, damaged him.

The pain. It kept coming back and haunt his memory. Those fangs were so sharp against his skin, the hands that clawed at his shoulders keeping him in place.

It was like rape. No, worse than rape. He would rather have a stranger's dick inside of him a hundred times than what he felt at that dreaded night, the night that left him with the scar, but also with a man he cared for a lot, even though he knew so little about him.

Gerard, who saw the zoned out expression on Frank's face, his features drawing an image of utter fear, but also compassion and worry, decided to pull the man out of his thoughts, and waved a hand in front of the younger's face.

"Are you okay, Frank?" He asked quietly, stroking the man's face gently as Frank shook himself out of his short trance and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm okay," he replied with a small smile and kissed Gerard's nose before pulling away and turning to brush his teeth.

xoxoxoxo

Right as they stepped into the small store, Frank barely even looked over at Bob before he was at the guitar's area, looking over every single guitar, all the acoustics and the electrics, the bass, everything he could reach, and settled down on the small stool in the corner.

Gerard shook his head with a chuckle at how sweet it was to see Frank like that, and walked over to the counter, to where Bob was dusting the bright wood.

He stopped, though, when he placed his old friend and gave him a wide smile.

"Hey Gerard! How's it going?"

"Great, great, um..." Gerard started, and then paused, "god, I have so much to tell you. Good news first or bad news?"

"Tell me the good news man. I wanna hear something cheerful from you for once."

"Well, okay..." Gerard found himself fucking blushing at the thought of telling Bob. Not that he was embarrassed, it's just that he was so happy to think he finally got to kiss Frank. He had hoped their first kiss would be under better circumstances, but the point was that it happened. And it sent fireworks inside his heart just thinking about it.

"So, are you going to tell me or are you going to stand there and smile at the air like a love-struck puppy?" Bob teased. Gerard only smiled at him, and the man's eyes widened. "You ARE a love-struck puppy." His eyes widened further. "Did you kiss Frank?"

"Yes," Gerard grinned.

"Uh man that's great. I'm glad you guys are good with each other. Now tell me the bad news."

Gerard's smile died. His expression fell all at once the moment Jonathan's face crept into his mind again, making him remember just how much he hated the man and how angry he had made him last night.

"I took Frank to a restaurant yesterday," he began, "Wanted to prove myself we were safe enough to go out of my house for a bit longer than we usually do. And it went great and all, until I..."

He stopped. It felt as if a giant lump was blocking his throat. God, he hated that man so much. And even more, he hated what him showing up meant - trouble.

"You what? Gerard, what happened? Tell me," Bob said concernedly and put his hand on his best friend's shoulder.

Gerard swallowed hard and looked back up at him.

"I saw... I saw..." he took a deep breath. "Jonathan was our waiter."

Bob froze. Gerard could feel the hand on his shoulder tensing. Bob knew what it meant, he knew what that boy could cause, and he was just as worried as Gerard.

"Oh god. G-Gerard, no, this is... this is bad. This is very very bad."

"I know," Gerard said with a miserable expression.

"Well, um... what did you do when you saw him?"

"I kinda... snapped at him and I... god, I changed, okay? My vampire side took over me and I attacked him in the middle of the restaurant. I know it was bad, and it shouldn't have happened, but you know my relationship with Jonathan and..."

Gerard couldn't find it in himself to speak anymore. He let Bob hug him tightly from the other side of the counter as he breathed heavily and tried to calm himself down.

"Shh, it's okay Gerard. I know what Jonathan can do to you. He is bad, but we're going to get rid of him too. Remember? Michael can be handled, and so is Jonathan. It's gonna be alright."

"But you-you don't understand," Gerard said weakly, "I, I hurt Frank. When I was in my vampire mode. I accidentally scratched him. He had his wrist bleeding. I was so worried."

Bob kept the man against his chest as he glanced at Frank, who was playing a small acoustic guitar. He noticed the bandage around the boy's wrist and nodded in understanding.

"It's okay Gerard. I mean, you guys still get along. You still have him by your side. He still trusts you, okay?"

Gerard sniffled and nodded against Bob's shoulder. The bearded man patted his head and then looked into his glossy eyes.

"Hey, don't break here buddy. I know how scared you are. I'm scared too. But please don't lose yourself. Frank needs you, I need you, and you're going to sort this out. I promise."

Gerard nodded again and smiled at Bob, hugging his friend one more time, tightly, before pulling away and trying to make a normal conversation with him for once.

xoxoxoxo

"Well, I think I should go get Frank. He said he was tired," Gerard said eventually. They had spent at least two hours in that store, which Frank just didn't seem to get enough of.

"I think your friend is doing just fine over there, but if you want to," Bob shrugged and chuckled at the sight of Frank looking over an entire shelf of albums in the haunt for something interesting.

Gerard gave him one last smile and a tight hug before going over to Frank and tapping his shoulder.

"Weren't you tired in the morning?" He asked gently. He struggled not to laugh as Frank jumped with surprise, nearly banging his head on the top shelf.

"Um, yeah, I was kinda tired. How long has it been?" He asked.

"About two hours," Gerard replied, and Frank's eyes widened.

"Really?"

Gerard nodded.

"Well, I'm actually not that tired now. Maybe we could go see some other places? We can go buy lunch somewhere."

Gerard smiled and nodded with agreement, and the two left the store hand in hand.

On their way out Bob threw Gerard a knowing wink, and the older man returned with a smirk.

xoxoxoxo

They came back home after sunset, which they had watched from the bench in the park, hugged up together as the sunlight slowly faded and disappeared behind the buildings of the city.

They fell to bed together, exchanging some more tired kisses before falling asleep.

Or, at least, one of them made it to fall asleep.

No matter how good Frank was at making Gerard forget about his troubles, the elder couldn't get the slight stinging feeling in his head out.

It still bothered him, yet he attempted closing his eyes and concentrating at Frank's warmth next to him, in his arms.

He waited, and waited, and waited, and sleep didn't come. It didn't wash over him like the other nights he spent sleeping next to Frank.

So he gave it up and went to his desk to draw.

But not until another piece of paper on the windowsill caught his eye.

He froze. This was bad news, it had to be.

He forced himself to reach out a shaky hand, grab it, and then unfold it slowly to reveal another short message.

Glad to see you had the guts to kiss him in our alley. Funny to see how reckless you can be, over and over again.
But it will make you fall, Gerard. It will make you fall so hard.
YOU WILL BLEED.

Gerard was still shocked. What? How? When? Why? Who?

There were so many questions running around his head.

Michael.

How could Michael possibly know about him and Frank kissing in that alley? Had he been there? Had he watched them?

No. Gerard would sense him if he was there. He always did. He had to.

But now that he thought about it, his mind and heart were so flooded by Frank, the younger man's lips as they kissed restlessly, his hands on Gerard's body, every emotion.

Was it possible that Frank's kiss blocked his ability to sense Michael?

Gerard didn't know the answer to all those questions. He barely even knew what to think.

Michael knew. Michael knew all about their kiss, and he obviously wasn't going to let this go.

Gerard knew it would happen though. He could see this coming. Michael was planning on using Frank as a tool to help him destroy Gerard, but going this far? Wait until Gerard felt something deeper towards the human to get him weaker? That was just insane.

And Gerard barely had any idea how to handle this.

He was lost.
