Never been better

Frank’s POV

Gerard was taking Seth to where he was having his sleepover and I was left with Rella and Phoenix.
”Dada.” Rella said as she stood up and looked at my tattooed legs with a frown.
”Me?” Rella said and poked a tattoo.
”Sadly Baby, you are too little and too young to have tattoos. Just wait a few more years and then you can have tattoos.” I said and Rella stood on my feet and I frowned at her.
”The hell are you doing child? I’m no climbing frame.” I said and Rella smiled which I returned.
”Show me that toothy grin.” I said and Rella went all shy and hid her face in my leg and she held onto my shorts since I wasn’t really going anywhere.
”You going to spend the night with Nona and grumpy?” I asked Rella and lent forward and picked her up and I put Phoenix beside me so Rella can sit on my lap.
”Nonna.” Rella said and I smiled and the front door opened and shut.
”Gee, Rella just said her first Italian word.” I said proudly and Gerard smiled as he walked over and picked Phoenix up and sat next to me.
”Such a clever girl.” Gerard said and offered Rella his hand which she took and Gerard lent forward and kissed her hand.
”So what did she say then?” Gerard asked as he sat Phoenix on his lap and started to gently bounce his knees up and down but Phoenix didn’t look impressed which made Gerard chuckle.
”She said Nonna which is grandmother in Italian.” I said and Gerard smiled.
”Proud daddy moment, hey Nix.” Gerard said and stood up and put Phoenix on the floor for tummy time.
”You going to play for a little bit.” I said and put Rella on the floor and watched her as she went to her toy box and just tipped all her toys out and I just groaned loudly.
”Damn child.” I said and went to the kitchen where Gerard was cleaning the mess from this morning up.

”Did Seth go off okay?” I asked and Gerard nodded.
”Yeah, Jenna said we can pick Seth up at anytime tomorrow so I said it would probably be late afternoon early evening that either me or you pick him up. If that’s okay with you?” Gerard said and looked at me.
”Yeah that’s fine with me, when did you want to drop madam off at the parents place?” I said and Gerard looked towards Rella and she was walking towards us.
”After I’ve had a nap, Phoenix had me up all night because he didn’t want to settle until like 6 this morning and then Rella decided to get up. I’m running on fumes right now.” Gerard said.
”Baby why didn’t you want me up? I would of helped you.” I said and Gerard looked down.
”Because you’ve been working really hard the last few weeks and you’ve been up looking after the baby at night. It was my turn to deal with him.” Gerard said and looked at me.
”He’s my child as well Gee, I don’t mind helping you out with him. It’s the same for Rella and Seth, their our children Gee and I am here to help you if you let me help you.” I said and Gerard looked down.
”Go and have a nice long soak in the bath and have a nice snooze and I have these two under control. Well it is nearly lunch and then nap time for the pair of then so it shouldn’t be that difficult.” I said and Gerard chuckled and walked out the kitchen and walked over to me and wrapped his arms round my neck and rested his head on my shoulder.
”I like that idea. Would be better if you could join me but you are being on children duty, so I’ll leave you too it. Don’t burn the house down and good luck.” Gerard said and then he looked at me and kissed me which I returned.
”Love you.” I said quietly and Gerard smiled and kissed me again.
”Love you too.” Gerard whispered and he let me go and headed to our room where he shut the door behind him.
I looked at the kids and Rella was playing nicely with Phoenix so I went and got lunch ready for Rella and got Phoenix bottle ready and then I fed the kids and put the, both down for their after lunch snooze and I tidied up the house and I sat on the sofa and crashed as well.

“Go wake papa up.” I heard Gerard say and I heard Rella giggle as she made her way over.
”Dada.” Rella said loudly and I felt her climb on the sofa and onto my stomach where I felt her sit on my with a thump since there was no grace to her yet.
”Dada.” Rella said again but I’m guessing she was talking to Gerard.
”Papa still isn’t awake baby, jump on him a bit more.” Gerard said and before I could flip him off Rella started to jump up and down on me.
”I’m awake.” I grumbled and wrapped my arms round Rella and rolled onto my side and Rella was laughing in the progress.
I opened my eyes and I looked at Gerard who was sat in the chair smiling at Phoenix who was returning Gerard’s smile.
”Look Nix, Papa has finally decided to wake up and join us to go to Nonna and Grumpys so that sister of yours and spend the night there. So me and papa can have a break from her.” Gerard said and Rella wiggles round so I put her on the floor and slid myself on the floor and started to tickle her which made her laugh and wiggle around in my arms.
”Go careful, she’ll kick you in the balls if your not careful.” Gerard said.
”We’ll be fine.” I said and sure enough Rella kicked out and got me straight in the balls.
”Shit.” I groaned as i put my hands round my junk and I could hear Gerard chuckling and Rella was still jumping on me.
”Rella enough now. Go and watch the tv.” Gerard said and he put Phoenix on the floor and Rella walked over to Phoenix and sat next to him.
”Well I did warn you that she would do that to you.” Gerard said as he sat next to me.
”Hope you don’t want anymore kids.” I said as I sat up and leant into Gerard’s side.
”Would like one more, but not until Phoenix is a little older.” Gerard said and I looked at him.
”2 more.” I said and Gerard looked at me seriously.
”One, that’s your lot.” Gerard said and I pouted at him.
“We’ll see.” I said and kissed Gerard which he returned.
”Right little lady do you want to go and see Nonna and grumpy?” Gerard said as he stood up and sorted Rella stuff out.

We got to ma and dads place and let ourselves in like normal.
”Ma, dad you about as I people to see you.” I said loudly which made Phoenix jump since I was carrying him while Gerard carried Rella since it was a bit of a walk from ours to ma and dads.
Dad peered his head round the corner and smiled when he saw us and walked straight over to us and took Phoenix from me.
”And How’s my gorgeous grandson?” Dad asked as he lifted Phoenix in the air and brought him back down for cuddles.
”He’s fine.” I said and dad looked at Rella and walked over to Gerard where he kissed the top of Rella head which made her go all shy.
”How’s my beautiful granddaughter then?” Dad asked and looked at Gerard who looked at me.
”She’s very bossy and stubborn at the moment.” I said and dad chuckled.
”Just like her papa then.” Dad said and I smiled.
“She gets the bossyness from Gerard and the stubbornness from me, so there’s no hope for the man in her life when she gets older.” I said and dad chuckled again.
”What they saying about you baby?” Gerard said and kissed the top of Rella head.
”Go find Nonna.” Gerard said as he put Rella on the floor and she walked off to find ma.
”Staying for drinks?” Dad asked and I looked at Gerard.
”Got nothing better to do really.” Gerard said and dad turned his back to us and walked to the kitchen talking to Phoenix as he went.
”Nothing better to do? I’ll remeber that when Phoenix goes to bed and you want sex.” I said quietly.
”You know what I mean.” Gerard said as he rolled his eyes at me.
“Do I now?” I said and looked at Gerard.
”Yes you bloody do.” I said and we went to join ma and dad in the kitchen.

”We can look after the pair of them tonight if you two want some alone time together, considering you don’t get that much.” Ma said and both me and Gerard looked at her.
”If your on about sex we get plenty of sex thanks for worrying.” I said and Gerard hit me on my leg which made me look at him
“They know everything.” I said and Gerard just gave me this look.
”I don’t even want to know Franklin. Anyway it’ll be good for your two to have a break from all three of them and just have couple time.” Ma said.
”What do you reckon babe?” I asked and looked at Gerard who was holding Phoenix.
”We haven’t brought any of his stuff.” Gerard said.
”We actually brought some new clothes for him and we still have some bottles and baby formula in the cupboards from the last time he came round. We can set the travel cot up for him in Seth’s room.” Ma said and Gerard sighed because I knew he needed a break but wether his heart will let him since him and Phoenix have a really good bond is a different matter.
”Sure, could do with a kid free night to be honest.” Gerard said and smiled at Phoenix.
“Awesome.” I said and thought of somewhere where me and Gerard could go.
Gerard looked round for Rella but you could see his face change when he couldn’t see her.
”Baby relax, she’s with dad.” I said and kissed his cheek which made Gerard look at me.
”You sure?” Gerard asked and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
”I’m sure, I watched her make her way towards the sitting room where dad is. You need to seriously relax babe.” I said and ma chuckled.
”I need to pee.” Gerard said bluntly and handed me Phoenix who started to whine as soon as he was in my arm and Gerard got up and headed towards the bathroom.
”What’s the matter little man, daddy will be back after he has been to the toilet.” I said and kissed the top of Phoenix head.
”Why did you chuckle earlier when I told Gee not to worry?” I asked and gave Phoenix his teddy her loves which made him quieten down a little.
”It’s a mother instant to worry where her children are. I still worry about you and Erica all the time and your both grown up with a family. Gee is a good parent Frank and so are you but I can see that Gee is the sort of parent who will literally run themselves down before they ask for help. Frank sweetie I know your trying your hardest but you need to start helping Gee out a bit more.” Ma said and I looked down.
”Ma I’m trying but Gee turns down all the help I offer him. I don’t know what to do. He’s just shut me out and I feel like I’m losing him for some reason. Yeah I understand that having 3 kids means we don’t lead the most exciting sex life in the world but that what happens when you have kids. That’s life and I accept that but I don’t want to lose him Ma, he’s literally my everything along with the kids. I can’t bare to think about my life without him and the kids in it.” I said and Ma smiled which I returned.
”You don’t ask if you can help dumbo, you just do it and then when he goes to do it he’ll be in for a shock. Just keep on what your doing. You aren’t losing him Frank, kids take a lot of work and especially with kids that are close together like Rella and Phoenix. Gee loves you, everyone can see how much he loves you and it’s the same with you. You just need to stop worrying.” Ma said and I smiled at her and looked at Phoenix who was now settled on my lap and Gerard walked in the room.
”You ready to go babe?” I asked and Gerard nodded.
I got up and handed Phoenix over to Ma who started to whine again.
”Here, this normally helps him settle.” Gerard said and handed Ma the blanket that Phoenix liked.
”Go and have some fun.” Ma said and I smiled and caught hold of Gerard hand and we walked home.

“Do you honestly think your losing me?” Gerard asked as he rolled over to face me after we both had the after sex nap.
”I’m worried about you Gee. Ever since Phoenix I feel like you’ve just shut me it of everything. I ask if I can help with anything and you say that you can cope but I know your not coping Gee.” I said and Gerard sigh as he looked down.
”Baby, it’s okay to ask for help if you need help. I don’t want you to hurt yourself.” I said and Gerard looked at me and he knew what I meant by it.
”Do you want to leave me?” Gerard asked and I looked at him shocked that he would ask this question but there was this look on his face.
”I would never dream on leaving you or the kids Gee, you know this. Tell me what the matter is.” I said and Gerard looked down and I saw a tear roll down his cheek.
”I was pregnant again Frank.” Gerard said quietly.
”What do you mean by was?” I asked softly and Gerard looked at me.
”I had a miscarriage.” Gerard whispered and he started to cry and I pulled him into my chest and kissed the top of his head.
”It’s okay baby, everything is going to be okay.” I said quietly as Gerard cried into my chest.
”How far was you gone?” I asked softly and Gerard sniffed.
”I was 5 weeks, I was going to tell you the week after.” Gerard said quietly.
”When did this happen?” I asked hoping Gerard wasn’t going to shut down on me.
”2 weeks ago.” Gerard whispered and I made him look at me.
”Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” I asked and Gerard climbed onto my lap and wrapped his arms round my neck and I just held him close to me.
”I’m sorry.” Gerard said quietly as he messed with my hair.
”Baby it’s fine okay. Let me look after you.” I said quietly and Gerard nodded his head.
I rolled us over so Gerard was under me and I kissed the end of his nose which made Gerard smile sadly at me.
“We dont have to rush for another one, we have our hands full right now.” I said and Gerard nodded and he looked down and put his hands on his stomach and I put my hands on top of his.
”You going to leave me?” Gerard asked quietly and I looked at him.
”No, why the hell would I leave you?” I asked.
”Because I’m useless.” Gerard whispered and I bent down and kissed him hard which Gerard returned.
”Your not useless. Never call yourself useless.” I said quietly and Gerard sniffed with some tears rolling down his cheek.
I got off Gerard and went over to the bathroom and started to run us a bath.
I walked back over and caught hold of Gerard’s hand and took him to the bathroom and we stood in front of the mirror and just looked at each other.
”I love you Gee.” I said and Gerard a little.
”I love you too.” He whispered and I turned him round and kissed him.
”Yes you have had a shit 2 weeks but you can come and talk to me. I’m never going to be mad at you if you need help with anything. Please remember that, your not alone with the kids or with yourself. I’m here to help.” I said and Gerard nodded.

I heard my phone go off and Gerard went off and answered it.
”What do you mean Rella has burnt herself, what the hell could she burn herself on?” I heard Gerard say from the sitting room so I walked back to the sitting room and saw him getting dressed.
”Whats going on Babe?” I asked which made Gerard jump and look at me.
”Your mother is at the hospital with Rella saying that she has burnt herself.” Gerard said.
”I can’t just leave her with you Linda.” Gerard said.
”What she saying?” I asked.
”That Linda can cope with Rella and we don’t have to worry.” Gerard said.
”Babe, let Ma handle this. Rella is in safe hands and she knows Ma. We can g round tomorrow and catch up.” I said and Gerard sighed.
”You sure you can manage Linda?” Gerard asked and I’m sure Ma said yes.
”Keep us updated Yeah, if anything changes or you need us then we’ll be there.” Gerard said.
”Okay, thanks for letting us know Linda and if you need us don’t be afraid to call frank’s Phoenix me and either of us will answer.” Gerard said and he hung up and sighed loudly.
”Want some stress relief or is that for later on?” I asked and Gerard chuckled and got off the bed and walked over to me and pulled me close to him.
”Stress relief sounds really good right now.” Gerard said quietly and I moved to attack his neck wth hickies as I pushed him towards the bed.
”You are also covering your dick as well, I can’t cope with being pregnant right now.” Gerard said and I looked at him and smiled at him and kissed him.
”Whatever you want baby.” I said quietly and moved down his body leaving a trail of hickies down his body.
