Never been better

Frank's POV

"Have any of you guys noticed how distant Gerard is being with everyone lately, and how tired he looks. He looks like he hasn't slept for ages." I said to the group of girls I was working with and lucky me was the only male until Gerard came in at 3 in the afternoon.
"Yeah, but Gerard has always been like that though. He's a bit odd if you tell me." Abbi said.
"But has he been more so lately like every time I go and talk to him he jumps out of his skin." I said.
"Hee has always been a jumpy person, but he's more so these days." River said.
I just smiled and went back to work cleaning tables.

Gerard had came in and it was only us two since it was in the evening and we was always quiet in the evening which was nice that we can just sit down and chill.
Gerard normally used it to do some college work.
"Wow Gee these are really good." I said as I joined Gerard at a table bringing coffee for the pair of us.
"I'm shit, cheers for the coffee." Gerard said.
"If that's shit, then my stick men are amazing, which their not." I said and Gerard chuckled.
Gerard sighed and looked back at his art work.
"Way too tired to be doing this." Gerard said and reached for his coffee and when he got it he sat back in the chair and nursed his coffee and his phone went off and he looked at it and sighed.
"Kids, who needs them." Gerard said quietly and I frowned.
"The kid on my phone isn't my nephew. He's my little boy." Gerard said and looked down.
"Hey, I don't care. Like I said he's a cutie." I said and Gerard smiled.
"Is it okay if he comes here, my babysitter needs to be somewhere and I have no one else who I can trust with him." Gerard said.
"Sure, I don't care." I said and Gerard smiled.
"Thanks Frank." Gerard smiled and he started to put his stuff away.

Gerard was in the back when a girl came in with a little boy.
"Hey, is Gerard around? I have a gift to give him." The girl said with a Spanish accent and with a little boy by her side.
"Yeah sure, just give me a second." I said and walked off to the back.
"Hey Gee, a girl is here with a little boy." I said and Gerard smiled and put the stuff down and went round the front.
"Hey little man. How was school?" Gerard said happily and picked the little boy up and hugged him.
"Ollie said I could go and play round his house." The little boy said and Gerard smiled.
"Well I'll see what I can do then shell I?" Gerard said and kissed the side of the little boys head and put him down and the boy looked at me while hugging Gerard's leg.
"Daya you are a babe. Here is your free coffee." Gerard said and handed it to the girl.
"Am I looking after him tomorrow?" The girl asked.
"Nope, I have a day off from here and college. Going to spend the day with little man." Gerard said with a smile which made the girl smile.
"See you round Gee, see you later little man." The girl said and waved and walked out the shop.

I couldn't help but look at the little boy as he really was as cute in person as he was in a picture.
"Daddy why is he staring?" The little boy asked and I quickly looked down and Gerard chuckled.
"I don't know." Gerard said and put the last of the chairs up in the table.
"So, that's us all done and packed up. How about we go home and watch films." Gerard said and picked the little boy up.
There was something about the pair of them which just has this beauty about them, but it was the type of beauty only certain people saw.
"He coming?" The boy asked and pointed at me.
"I dunno, want to come over Frank? That's if your not busy and that." Gerard said and looked at me.
"Yeah sure, it's not that I have anything important to do tonight." I said and Gerard smiled.
"Right go and put your coat on and get your things." Gerard said and put the boy down and he went running off.
"He's adorable. Can I steal him?" I said and Gerard chuckled.
"Your not stealing him. He's mine." Gerard said with a smile but you see the sadness in his eyes.
"So what's his name?" I asked.
"Seth." Gerard said as he put his jacket on.
I was already to go, we was just waiting on Seth.
"Seth, I like that name." I said and Gerard smiled and Seth showed up and caught hold of Gerard's hand.
"Come in trouble." Gerard said.
"Who you talking to on that one?" I asked and Gerard looked at me and smiled.
"Probably you." Gerard said which made me smile.

We got to Gerard's and the area was run down looked like someone could get murdered at any point or if you looked at someone in the wrong way they wouldn't think twice about punching the lights out of you.
"So it's not much, but it's home." Gerard said as we walked in.
Seth had fallen asleep on Gerard's shoulder.
"I'm just going to put him to bed. Make yourself at home, there's some beer in the fridge." Gerard said and I smiled and nodded and walked to the sitting room and sat down and just waited for Gerard.
After a few minutes Gerard walked back and sat on the sofa and put his feet up on the coffee table.
"So, want to watch something?" Gerard asked and looked at me.
"Yeah sure." I said and Gerard turned the tv on and loaded Netflix up.
"Mikey? Who's that?" I asked.
"My brother, he lives in New York. He lets me use his Netflix because he's a babe." Gerard said and I chuckled and looked down.
"Don't your parents have anything to do with you and Seth?" I asked and looked at Gerard who was looking down messing with his hands.
"I um, have this thing where I can get pregnant." Gerard said quietly and looked down.
"That's pretty odd but pretty cool at the same time." I said and Gerard smiled slightly.
"I was 16 when I had Seth, I told my parents and they told me I wasn't their son anymore and that they wanted me out of the house that night." Gerard said.
"That's awful, so you have nothing to do with your family then?" I asked.
"Part from Mikes but he only comes here twice a year. One in my birthday and the other on Seth's birthday. I don't mind, I mean he pays for Netflix and helps me if I'm struggling but I'm not really close to them." Gerard said.
We put a film on and Gerard just fell asleep half an hour into the film and I smiled.
I moved and picked Gerard up and he was really light and found his room and placed him on the bed which made Gerard sigh loudly and moved closre to where Seth was.
I smiled and pulled the throw Gerard had over him and I was hoping it was okay for me to stay round.
I walked into another room which I guess was Seth's and picked up the plain light blue duvet cover and pillow and went to the sofa and just crashed on the sofa for the night.
