Never been better

Gerard's POV

I was busy at work my mind wondering like it normally does.
"Hey Gee." Someone said and snapped me back to reality and I looked and saw Frank who was a friend at work.
"Hey Frank." I said quietly.
"So you seem miles away with the fairies, everything okay?" Frank asked and I put a fake smile on and nodded.
I couldn't tell anyone about the fact I had a four year old son, I was on the verge of being kicked out of college and my flat.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said with the fake smile still on my face.
"You sure? Because you can always talk to me you know that right?" Frank said seriously.
"I'm fine Frank, honestly and if I need help then I'll come and talk to you." I said and looked at my phone and smiled at the picture of my son.
"He's a cutie, who is he?" Frank said and looked over my shoulder.
Well I felt him lean on me since he was shorter than me.
"He's my nephew." I said.
"Well I can happily steal him as he looks really cute. He also looks a lot like you as well." Frank said.
I couldn't help but smile.
"Anyway, my shift is over so I've got to go and do some coursework." I said and walked off taking my apron off as I did so and picked my bag up.
"Gee." I heard Frank say and I looked behind me.
"I mean it when I say you can talk to me about anything." Frank said and I smiled a small smile.
"I know, and it's the same to you Frank." I said and Frank smiled.

I got home amd walked in the sitting room.
"Hey Seth." I said happily and my son looked up from what he was doing and came running over and I picked him up and held him close to me as I kissed the side of his head.
"Why aren't you in bed mister?" I asked and walked over to the sitting room.
"He wanted to stay up and show you the picture he drew at play group today." My friend and babysitter, Daya, said.
"You going to go and show me the picture then Seth." I said and put him down and he went running off towards his bedroom.
"Fuck Gee you looked bushed." Daya said softly.
"Yeah well college, work and Seth are tiring me out." I sighed.
"Daddy look!" Seth said and ran over to me and showed me this picture he drew.
"It's beautiful baby. You going to put it on the fridge." I said and Seth nodded and he went to the kitchen.
"You still haven't heard anything from his dad?" Daya asked.
"Nope, last time I asked if he wanted to see Seth he told me to fuck off and that he wanted nothing to do with Seth or me. So it looks like I'm just gonna have to struggle like when I first got pregnant with him." I said and Seth came over and climbed onto my lap and cuddled into my chest and I kissed the top of his head.
"I'm always around to look after him, he's a darling. So if you just want a break or catch up with some friends, do some college work just phone me and I'll come and look after him." Daya said and I smiled.
"I'll keep that in mind Daya. Thank you so much for doing this for me." I said and Daya smiled and stood up and put her coat on.
"I still want my free coffee payment." Daya said and I chuckled.
"I'll still give you free coffee." I said and Daya smiled and walked over and kissed the top of my head and then Seth's head.
"I'll see you later." Daya said and walked off.
"Right Mister, you need to go to bed." I said and Seth shook his head and cuddled more into my chest.
"Want to stay with you." Seth said sleepily.
"Want to spend the night with me then?" I asked and Seth nodded.
"Come on then." I said and Seth moved and wrapped his arms round my neck and I moved and stood up and went to my room.
"Right I'm going tidy your mess up and then I'll be here okay. You snuggle down and go to sleep." I said and kissed his forehead.
"Night daddy." Seth yawned and got comfy.
"Night little man." I whispered and walked out the room and tided Seth mess and started to do some coursework but I felt myself fall asleep so I got up and had a quick shower and went to bed where Seth was flat out asleep.
I smiled and quietly climbed into bed and just crashed.
