The Beginning//Gerard Way Fan Fiction.

Two.

Stepping outside of my motel room I spot an old rugged brown chair and plop myself down. I quickly pull my package of cigarettes out of my oversized hoodie and place a cigarette between my lips, allowing the nicotine and smoke to slowly fill my lungs.

As I was smoking, I slightly turn around and catch a glance of myself in the mirror. My faded red and blonde long hair was sticking up in all different directions and my small stature looked even smaller surrounded by the overly large Pixies hoodie that I had stolen from my brother.
Suddenly, I am brought back to reality when I feel my phone buzz in my hoodie pocket and flip it open to see a message from Jay.

Jay: hey we just arrived, having some issues with the singer. Please bring coffee when you come, hungover.

I rolled my eyes at the message and I quickly replied to him, letting him know I got what he sent me.

Jess: Got it, leaving soon.

Just what I needed, I thought, a hungover group of guys and a singer with attitude.
I quickly finished my cigarette and made my way back into the musty cheap motel room. I walked to the bathroom and turned on the shower, letting the steam fill the room as I stripped out of what I was wearing.
I quickly stepped into the shower and felt the warm water pierce my skin. I had always loved the sensation of overly warm water. It somehow made me feel pure and clean, despite the place where I was currently sleeping in.

After my shower I quickly threw my hair into two buns on my head, in a somewhat lazy attempt to hide my overly faded hair and growing roots. I wiped the mirror from all the steam that had built up and was met with the reflection of my porcelain skin and darkened under eyes. I swiftly placed cover up on my face in attempt to hide the dark circles surrounding the under part of my blue eyes and glided my signature red lipstick across my lips.
I then walked out of my bathroom and towards the duffel bag stuffed with various clothes, CDs and books I had packed. I quickly grabbed the first shirt I found and threw it over my body. Noticing how much larger it was, and not wanting to look like a complete mess, I tied the back of the shirt making it cling to my petite body better and proceeded fold it up to fit just above my waste. I pulled on my fish net leggings and then I slipped on a old pair of jeans that I have probably owned for far too long. After quickly checking my appearance in the mirror above the motels old wooden dresser, I proceeded to grab my phone, smokes, backpack and then slipped on my converse while halfway out the door.

I closed the motel room door quickly and made my way to my old beat up station wagon that my dad got for me on my seventeenth birthday. I sighed as I sat down, turning on the car and allowing the sound of Black Sabbath fill my ears. As I leaned over to light a cigarette, I pull out the directions my brother has written down for me from the glove box. I quickly begin to read the terribly descriptive directions my brother has made for me on a old McDonalds napkin and chuckle to myself knowing how little time he actually spent on reading this over.

As I pull out onto the road, I had no idea what to expect, but I knew it was going to be a far from boring day, and that I needed to somehow find coffee.

Notes

Slow start I know, but I promise in the next chapter, a My Chemical Romance character will be introduced.

We must have the same taste in fan fiction, because your story and Spin, Spin Sugar are two of my favorites at the moment too! And thanks for the shout out! You're the best :)

I am so IN LOVE with this. I've never read a story based in this era and I love that you try to keep it as realistic as possible. The idea of writing multiple stories for each era is amazing too. Definitely subscribing and checking every day for new updates!
