The Beginning//Gerard Way Fan Fiction.

*Beep, beep, beep, beep*

My eyes awoke to the sound of my cheap motels alarm clock and the smell of dust and stale cigarettes filled my nostril. I quickly hit my hand on the clock, carelessly knocking it over in the process, while my eyes tried to adjust to world around me.

Looking around, the room was all too familiar. The discolored blinds, the musty couch and old TV, something that most eighteen year old would hate. But to me, it felt like home.
You see, my father, he was a sound and lights technician, and when my mother died when I was twelve and my brother was sixteen, my dad started dragging us a long to his gigs. I wouldn't say that I hated it though, I absolutely loved every minute of it. I despised when summer would end and I would have to go back to school and live a "normal" life. I craved the road, I loved the music, and most of all I loved being with my father and brother.

When my mother first died, my dad left the road and got a job at a local venue in Toronto, doing the sound and lights for all various bands that would play there. He mostly did this because he felt like he needed to, although my brother,Jay, and myself knew he absolutely hated it. By the time I turned sixteen, my father felt more comfortable with leaving me a lone and returning to the road. My brother was twenty, my aunt agreed to look after me. I myself pushed my dad to do what he loved.
Shortly after my father left to work my brother became my other father figure. He would take me to concerts, look out for me with boys(although I could have cared less about them) and ensured I did well in school. Every week me and my brother would find a concert and travel to see our favorite local band at the time, or new artist that caught our eye. My brother got a job working for some bands here and there as a "guitar technician". This mostly meant he tuned his friends guitars and then drank while he sold merchandise for them.

With the love and passion for the music scene, my brother eventually started going to shows in New Jersey, driving hours just to be a part of the music scene there. From there he made some pretty great friends, and got a full time gig being a roadie for the band Thursday. It sucked not being able to spend time with Jay, but it was so heart warming seeing him do something he loved with people who he considered to be his closest friends.

Because I was sixteen when he started going to shows down there, he often wouldn't let be go with him, telling me the scene there was different and un forgiving, even though I knew he just wanted to go there and party with his friends, not have to worry about his little sister. By the time I turned seventeen he let me come every once and a while, and I got to know his friends in Thursday really well.

Now I'm here, eighteen, sitting in a cheap ass motel and going to meet my brother at a recording studio in some guys basement in New Jersey, where he's with Geoff as he helps some local band record their album. Jay says they are the next big thing, but then again, he has said that about a million bands over the years.

Notes

Hey guys! So this is my first ever Fan Fiction so please bare with me. I have had this story idea brewing around in my head for a while and it took me a long time to gain the confidence to write it.

Hopefully in time I can get a little better at this, and I appreciate any feedback you are willing to give!

Just an FYI this story is cross posted on my Wattapad username: White0leander.

I am so IN LOVE with this. I've never read a story based in this era and I love that you try to keep it as realistic as possible. The idea of writing multiple stories for each era is amazing too. Definitely subscribing and checking every day for new updates!
