The next morning, Mikey had woken up crying and full of fear. Gerard had run to him and cuddle while pressing the button that calls for help, remembering what the nice nurse, Ms. Blake, had said. "If something happens, click this red button. It will call me right away so I can help you, okay?" She had said caressing Gerard's tear-stained cheek. Immediately the door opened and Blake came rushing towards the boys who were cuddling to death. "What's wrong, sweetheart?" She asked worryingly. "Mikey had a nightmare." Gerard responded. Ms. Blake grabbed cuddled right in with both Gerard and Mikey, and began to whisper sweet words on Mikey's ear. "Don't worry, love. It was just a dream, you're safe now." She said. Minutes passed and Mikey was fast asleep. 'Poor kid,' Blake thought. She slowly picked herself up from the bed, and fixed her uniform when she was free. "Thank you." Gerard whispered so soft, that Blake almost didn't hear it. Almost. Blake turned her attention towards Gerard and her face softened. "Thank you for helping Mikey, momma never did that." He said quietly. Tears came to Blake's eyes. These two boys have been through a lot. "It's no problem, sweetheart. You also helped him too! You called me which caused for me to come. If you had not pressed that button, Mikey would have stayed crying and crying. You're like a superhero!" Blake exclaimed, causing for little Gerard to turn red. "Can I be Batman then!?" Gerard said excitingly. "Yes, honey! You, Batman, saved Mikey from his nightmares that The Joker caused!" Blake said. Gerard's eyes grew with such joy, that it made Blake's heart melt. Officer Ruiz was standing by the door, watching the whole thing. 'These kids got it hard,' he thought to himself. He cleared his throat which caused for Gerard and Blake to turn towards him. "May I speak with you, nurse?" Ruiz asked. "Of course," Blake responded. She gave Gerard a kind smile and went outside with the officer. "What can I help you with, officer?" Blake asked. "How are they?" Ruiz asked worryingly. "The truth is, they're in bad condition.The mother will not feed them regularly, they're really unhealthy. Also, the little on has problems with nightmares. Woke up crying, and the older one had to call me by the nurse button." Blake responded. Ruiz took it all in and sighed. "Approximately, when will they get out?" Ruiz asked. "About, two weeks or so. We have to make sure they're safe to go. Have you found any relatives?" Blake asked. "One. The rest of them are either dead or in prison. The one I found is Elva, Elva Moreno. She even runs a little day care." Ruiz responded. "Have you informed her?" Blake asked. "No I have not, but I'll do that soon. Thank you, for your time, Ms. Blake." Ruiz shooked Blake's hand and went outside. He fetched his notepad from his coat and got the number that he needed. He dialed it and pressed the 'Call' button. Two rings and the person answered. "Hello?" The person asked. "Mrs. Moreno, this is Officer Ruiz. Are you free to talk? I got quite a story to tell."
