Only One Way

I didn't sleep very well the night before the day we were gonna bring Gerard home. I was too excited, but when I finally did fall asleep I was out. I slept through my alarm that I'd set for ten a.m. and I didn't move when Mikey tried to shake me awake at eleven.

"Frank, if you don't wake up I'm going to pour a bucket of ice water on you." "Mmm" my mind hadn't comprehended what Mikey had said but I understood a few minutes later when I felt freezing ice cold water hit the bare skin on my chest and face.

It felt like I'd gotten shocked and immediately all my senses awoke. I sat up gasping for air and shivering cold. "What the fuck Mikey?!" "Get up and get ready, it's almost eleven thirty." "Oh shit." I sprang up to get ready, I rinsed off under the warm water of the shower then hurried to get dressed so I could go downstairs to eat a bowl of cereal (Mikey wasn't gonna cook) and ran to the car where Mikey was waiting. "We're gonna be late!" Mikey called. "I'm coming" as soon as I got in Mikey was pulling out then started speeding.

It didn't take us long to get to the hospital but we were still seven minutes late. We ran inside the hospital and up to Gerard's room. I heard his voice before I saw him. "You guys are late." When I walked in he was already hugging Mikey. His hair was dishevelled and he had dark circles under his eyes but he looked happy.

"Hey Frankie" he said and went to give me a hug, I squeezed him tightly and was reluctant to let go. "I know it was only a week, but I missed you guys so much." "We missed you too Gee." Mikey said as the doctor walked in "Mr Way? Could I talk to you about Gerard outside?" "Yes, of course." Mikey followed him out the door and I immediately jumped into Gerard's arms again, my arms around his neck.

"god Gee,i missed you so much." His arms squeezed me back. "I missed you too Frankie, it was hard being without you so long." "Did you like the letter?" I asked, still holding onto him. "Yes I loved it, I read it Everytime I missed you." He pulled away and kissed me, "you're my everything Frankie, you're my whole heart." He kissed my nose then looked into my eyes with those gorgeous hazel ones.

"I'm taking you out tonight okay? After Mikey falls asleep." "Okay"I whispered then stepped back when I heard Mikey and the doctor's voices. "So he'll be coming three times a week." "Sounds good, I'll make sure he gets there." "You guys ready to go?" Gerard asked and Mikey and I nodded our heads."let's go."

we got home and gave Gerard his card then each got a price of cake. The rest of the day we mostly talked about what's happened since Gerard got checked in and then watched a few movies. I went to bed around nine and Mikey followed. "oh, Mikey um is it okay if I sleep alone tonight? I don't want to get you sick." "Oh, yeah sure." I felt bad at how disappointed he sounded but I really wanted to be alone with Gee.

Mikey left the room and i grabbed a comic off my nightstand to pass the time while I was waiting for Gerard. About an hour later he walked into my room and planted a hard kiss to my mouth. Then pulled away smirking. God I've missed that smirk. "Let's go" he said then went to my window and crawled out.

"god I've missed him." I said outloud, then followed him out the window.
