I'd End My Days With You.

“I need Gerard.”

Gerard and Mikey pled guilty in court. Frank on the other hand was being told by Patrick there would be no deal in his case. It made Frank vulnerable to the idea he could be put away in an adult prison for a long time. As Frank took the stand, he swore to tell the truth over the bible-even if he was an atheist, he would follow these rules and to the oath.

His lawyer approached him, Mr. Bryar. He said calmly, “How do you feel?”

“Scared.”

After being questioned and delivering the honest responses from Frank, the jury didn’t seem to sympathize with him at all. Patrick took the stand next and explained what was wrong with Frank. “It’s a result from neglect from his parents that made him crave affection. Nixon was a very troubled student as well, according to the Way brothers and Frank, Nixon was a violent child. There was an allegation from Frank that Nixon raped him in between classes,”

Mr. Bryar asked, “Is there any evidence to support that allegation?”

“The Way brothers confirmed it. Even Gerard.”

Mr. Bryar asked, “What do you think the result of this case should be?”

“Based on my professional knowledge, Frank should be placed in a hospital where treatment is provided .. “ He looked over to the jury, “It would be just like prison for him, believe me.”

“No further questions,” Bryar took a step back.

Patrick’s wife stood up and asked, “Do you recall telling me that Frank’s trigger is Gerard Way?”

Patrick nodded, “Yes.”

“Mr. Stump-”

Dr. Stump.”

She looked at him, “Excuse me, Dr. Stump-if Gerard Way is the trigger, what makes you think Frank will get the treatment he needs?”

“I never said it was going to be easy, but it is treatable.”

“How do you know?”

“I think it’s rather silly of someone in your position to question my knowledge on my own subject.” Patrick scowled.

Judge Joan slammed her hammer made of wood against the sound block on her desk, “Keep your witty comments to yourselves,”

Patrick’s wife nodded, “My apologizes. No further questions for Pat-Dr. Stump.”

To Frank, it seemed like an endless debate.

This is what suffering truly means. I’m in a tight spaced room where everyone else will decide my fate. I didn’t do anything wrong. I admit, I unintentionally hurt the one I love, manipulated his brother-but I’m a good person, I know I am. My hand trembled underneath the desk as my mind became chaotic. Abruptly, my emotions overflowed. I cried out, “I’m so sorry, I just wanted to be loved.”

The judge roared toward Mr. Bryar, “Control your client.

I screamed, “I need help,” My eyes overflowed tears, making my vision blurry. Shots of water cascaded down my cheek as I begged for forgiveness and as the judge ordered Mr. Bryar to keep me calm. How could I keep calm in a situation like this? I hurt him, and I need to stop myself from doing it again.

I took in deep breaths, feeling my heart pound against my chest. My mind whirled with desirable thoughts of Gerard, my sweet Gerard.

Patrick's voice hummed, “Deep breaths, Frank. This will all be over soon .. deep breaths.”

He doesn’t know what I’m going through. He really doesn’t .. yet his words are calming me.

The judge slammed her tool, “We will continue this tomorrow evening so Mr. Iero can contain himself.” Her voice sounded more genuine, “He doesn’t look so good.”

As the day continued on, I was locked inside a small room with a toilet, bed and sink. I was glad there was no mirror. I didn’t want to look at myself. Soon enough, Patrick and his wife entered the room. The unbelievable happened. She offered a deal. Her eyes settled on me, “Your outcry got the jury’s attention .. and mine. If you truly want help, you will take my deal of entering a hospital which will provide therapy and meds. You will be there until Dr. Stump approves of your freedom. After that you will have 4 years probation .. also, you will stay away from the Way brothers.”

I need it. I need to take this deal .. but being away from Gerard? I couldn’t do that.

I shook my head, “I need Gerard.”

Patrick's eyes widen, “Frank, you have no idea how lucky you are to even be suggested that deal.”

His wife rolled her eyes, “I refuse to let you walk free if you win the case.”

Patrick said, “Give me till tomorrow morning. I’ll influence him.”

She got up, “Tomorrow morning. You have until then.”
