Body movement, the way the voice trembles. It can all be read. Patrick had the ability to do so, to read others. It was a gift to him, one he discovered in college. After some time of studying to be a lawyer, physcology caught his interest. He went deeper down the path that interested him more. He couldn't believe how magnificent it was to know the mind of others. It was beautiful to him. After years of studying and finally graduating, he took his gift to the next level by offering himself to a small town who found him useful.

And so now here he is. He's a Dr. now, and took the name proudly. Patrick hummed a small tune as he walked down the station halls, passing officers who gave him a small glance. Patrick didn't fit in much. He seemed vibrant unlike the officers around him who were shocked by Frank's case. It didn't affect Patrick. It seemed that nothing ever did.

Patrick walked inside the conference room where Ray, Pete, and the lawyer who wanted to put the boys away were. Patrick caught the eye of the a woman who smiled kindly. He smiled softly before representing, "All of these boys are ill." He laid out their files, "After some testing and interviews, I've come to my professional conclusion that Mikey is suffering stockholm syndrome, Gerard is going through anxiety and trauma, and Frank-"

"Mikey and Gerard I am willing to negotiate." The woman said, "But Frank is a completely different story. For Nixon's case, we're willing to give Gerard two years in a minimum security juvenile prison since he was the one to shove Nixon. Mikey is an accomplice so he will serve a year and both will have the therapy they need."

Patrick raised a brow, "And Frank?"

"Frank has his own case. I'll be dealing with both cases of Nixon and the boys."

Patrick stared at the woman, “Frank is unstable. He can’t go inside prison walls.”

She grabbed her pen and pushed it up against her lips, “There’s no need to discuss.”

“He’s mentally ill.” This woman was testing Patrick’s patience.

She stood up, “We’ll settle this in court then.” As she gathered her things, she said a final goodbye to Ray and Pete who were just as disappointed as Patrick was. She stopped by Patrick’s side, “I’ll see you at home.” Her wedding ring shone, catching Patrick’s eye. He played with his ring, “I’ll be late.”

She looked over to him, “Not too late, dinner will be cold.” Her voice was more soft and genuine, considering her husband’s feelings.

The two gave each other one last look before she walked out. Patrick looked over to Ray and Pete, “There’s no getting through her.”

Pete replied, “What are our chances in court?”

“We’ll win, no doubt.” Patrick tucked in his lips, “But just in case I’ll be giving Frank the best lawyer I can offer.”

Patrick dropped his bag near the door as he took in the warmth of the home. He yawned greatly as he walked over to his bedroom where his wife slept soundly. He took off everything besides his boxers before climbing into the bed. His eyes begun to shut before his wife’s voice asked, “You’re not upset with me, are you?”

“Yes but I shouldn’t be. You have your job, and I have mine.”

Her body turned before she clung onto his arm, “I’m glad you understand.” Her lips touched his cheek, melting his heart. He turned his head, facing her. Her lips formed a smile before their lips met. The soft kiss turned passionate making Patrick move her body on top of his, taking in her scent. He tangled his hands into her hair, a moan escaped her. After a small while of foreplay, Patrick lifted her shirt off and stared at her body. She had stretch marks, her stomach wasn’t flat-but he didn’t care.

Her cheeks flushed, “What’re you staring at?”

“You’re beautiful.”

Her smile warmed him, “So are you.”
