He's Not Dead, He Only Looks that Way.

“What’s the catch?”

Brendon was too busy admiring the sight of a naked woman, riding his cock as he comfortably sat on his throne. While he was moving her hips, Andy was already rushing toward Brendon's office. Frank had his back turned to Brendon and the woman, staring at the poor soul who was stuck in their loop. Brendon looked up to the red haired girl who moaned in pleasure, looking down into the white eyes of a devil.

Andy bolted into the room, making Frank and Brendon jump from their positions. Frank jolted up onto his two feet, staring at Andy who spotted him. Andy was infuriated and pointed at Frank, “You.”

Frank could feel his anxiety boost, “M-me?”

Brendon threw the woman off of him and snapped his fingers, sending Frank up against the wall, away from Andy’s reach. Brendon placed on his pants and smiled at Andy, “Brother, what a sweet surprise-”

“What is wrong with you? Why is he here?” Andy now seemed more nervous. He paced back and forth in front of his brother, “This .. this is unbelievable. What you’re doing is-you know damn well you’re not keeping him. Put him back where he came from or I will-”

Brendon scoffed, “You’ll what?” He took a step forward, “Say the word, and I’ll disappear with him. What are you going to do about it?”

Andy tightened his jaw, “You get what you want and then what?” He added in, “What are you trying to prove?”

“I’m not trying to prove anything. I just want power, that’s all.” Brendon smiled at Andy, “The orange moon is coming, brother. And when it does, it will be glorious.”

Andy’s eyes widen, “You idiot. I will gather our brothers.”

“And I will be long gone by then.” Brendon announced, “I will no longer be the devil who watches over hell. In two days, I will be the devil who controls hell .. and you as well.”

Frank watched the two as gravity pressed onto his body, forcing him upon the brick wall.

Brendon took a bow to his brother, “Go on, brother. Go on and welcome our siblings.”

The atmosphere had changed dramatically. As Andy disappeared, Brendon’s eyes had already turned smokey white. A white cloud had surrounded him and Frank. If you were in the room, you would have lost oxygen and you would have been frigid. The two had already left the room as Pete, Andy, and Joe (the brothers) had entered. Pete cursed under his breath and yelled at his brothers, “What are you standing here for? Find him!”

Frank’s body tumbled onto the soft green grass of an isolated field. Brendon had his hands stuffed into his pockets and his eyes stared out into the empty field. He was hypnotized by the intense color of the grass, and the soft wind that blew through it.

Frank muttered, looking down to the grass that his body rested on, “He .. he knew me, didn’t he?”

Brendon didn’t reply. He heard Frank’s question but decided to keep his mouth shut.

Frank heart grew heavy, “I’m not just a soul, am I? I’m .. I’m valuable? Maybe? Before I died?” He looked up to Brendon. When Brendon didn’t reply, Frank cried out and crawled to his feet, “Please, I have so many questions!” He felt helpless as he gently kissed Brendon’s shoes, “I need closure.”

It was silent for a moment before Brendon sighed, “Right now, you are a soul. Valuable? Yes.” Brendon could see the confusion in Frank’s watery eyes. He looked out into the field again, “Frank, you are very broken. Do you want to know why?” Brendon added in, “You were never normal. As a baby, you were given to a broken home. The parents you lived with were never your real parents.” Brendon laughed, “It’s a little cliche, isn’t it? You’re not a wizard, by the way.” Brendon smiled before it faded away quickly, “You’re .. a half breed.”

Frank moved away from Brendon’s feet but kept his gaze at him, “Half breed?”

Brendon smirked, “Half angel.” He added in quickly, “Your mother had an affair with an angel during her engagement and your father knew it was a sin. He knew, if caught, his head would be disconnected from his body-which happened.” Brendon sighed, “Your mother confessed to her fiance about her pregnancy and he said it was either you or him. She chose the one she loved most. Him.”

Frank shed a tear as he looked away, “Of course she did.”

“After giving birth to you, she dropped you off at a random house. Guess she had bad taste, huh?” Brendon chuckled.

Frank’s body felt heavy. He did his best to stand on his two feet. When he did, he said, “Even my biological mother never loved me .. is she .. ?” He was afraid to ask.

“Alive? Oh no. Dead. Car crash.” Brendon licked his lips, “Although you’ve been under the angel’s radar, you haven’t been under mine. I’ve watched you as creepy as it sounds. And I’ve been waiting for your death just so I can take Gerard out of his hell.”

“You planned this? For me and Gerard?”

“Why do you suppose he didn’t turn right after his death like the others?” Brendon paused, “What I didn’t plan was his feelings for you. That was uncalled for. I hoped he played along with my scheme but of course, things never run as smoothly as thought.”

Frank looked down, “What do you plan on doing with me?”

“Sacrificing you.” Brendon said casually, “You're very rare to come across. There’s a ritual I plan on performing that includes sacrificing you for unlimited power. The power that is promised is strong enough to overpower my brothers.” Brendon sighed, “Frank, it’s a cruel world. Isn’t that why you wanted to end it all? Well, now you can in two days. And this time, for good. It’ll be like sleeping-without the dreams.” Brendon circled around Frank, “No more angels. No more demons. No more heartbreak or abandonment. It’s an early christmas for you.”

Frank muttered, “But I don’t want to die anymore.”

“But you don’t have a choice.” Brendon replied.

Frank felt his body tense up, “The angels will save me-”

“The angels don’t know you’re a half breed. They won’t care about you. You’re just a soul to them. But as for my brothers, they might stop me. And the only way to do that is to kill me or you. Basically, in the end,” Brendon faced Frank, “One of us has to die.”

Gerard bursted through the door with Patrick following close behind. Lindsey jumped, “Ohmysatan, Gerard what the hell-” Gerard pushed past her into his room. Patrick stopped by Lindsey, “He’s in a bad mood.”

“Yeah, I can tell.” Lindsey asked, “What happened?”

“A lot.” Patrick sighed, fixing the position of the fedora on his head.

Gerard threw himself onto his bed and punched his pillow multiple times. He screamed out loud in anger while kicking his feet as if he were a 3 year old throwing a tantrum. He finally rested down onto the bed. His hazel eyes stared up at the ceiling. His ears heard a thud coming from above him. He slowly sat up for a better listen and heard it again.

Lindsey stared up at the ceiling too. Frey and Davy, who were in their own rooms, were also staring up. It was silent. If you listened in closely, you can hear the small steps coming from up above. Lindsey whispered, “I don’t recognize the smell. It’s not a demon or angel.”

Patrick’s breathing became a bit more rapid, “What do you think it is?”

Lindsey couldn’t come up with an answer but Gerard could. He whispered, “Devils.” A loud thud ascended from the front door, but it the door remained in tact. Gerard heard a familiar voice call his name out, “Come outside, we need to speak to you.”

It was Andy.

Gerard got up from the bed and dashed out of the room. He paused by Lindsey and Patrick. He signaled them to keep calm and stay where they were at. Lindsey hesitated to even letting him leave out the door when she didn't know who it was, but Gerard’s voice toughened, “It’s okay.” He slowly opened the front door to find Andy and two other unfamiliar faces. He walked out and stopped a few feet away from them.

Andy introduced his brothers, "These are my brothers, Pete and Joe."

Gerard looked at Andy, “What do you want?”

Andy replied, “We know what Brendon wants with the soul.”

Gerard dug his hands inside his jacket pockets, “What do you mean?”

“He’s going to kill him.”

Gerard’s eyes widen a bit, “Kill him? Why? He doesn’t need to kill him!”

Pete stepped in, “He does if he wants to become powerful. Frank wasn’t just a human when he died. He was a half breed.”

Gerard was at a loss for words. He stammered, “H-half b-breed?” Gerard couldn’t believe Frank, the man he fell for, was half angel.

"Because of his previous life, his soul is special." Pete added in, “Brendon is going to perform the Ancient Ritual meaning he's going to sacrifice the soul.” (Side note: I didn't know where to put this but a soul can die only if they're a part of a ritual where they die or if the owner of the soul kills them)

It all made sense now. It made sense to Gerard why Brendon turned him human and why Brendon gave Frank to Gerard instead of sending Frank to his own hell. Brendon knew all this time-he planned everything so well.

Gerard asked, “What .. what should we do? Brendon will do anything to keep Frank until it’s done-we can’t just go wherever they are and attack.”

Pete paused and looked at his brothers before turning his attention to Gerard. Gerard read the desperation and sadness in Pete’s eyes, “Which is why we came to you. We devised a plan. You were the closest to Brendon .. and since you’re human, we added that detail into our plan .. but there’s a catch into saving the one you love and at the same time killing Brendon.”

Gerard could feel his breathing become shallow, “What’s the catch?”

Pete frowned, “There’s only one question: how much do you love Frank?” He added in more slowly this time with a lot more hesitation, “And how much would you sacrifice to save him?”
