From the earth to the morgue

*Detective Toro’s perspective*

I groaned rubbing my eyes roughly before looking back at the small photo of Gerard Way I had laying on my desk. It just didnt make any sense.
I sighed heavily as I leaned over, pulling up the security videos from the mall and coffee shop once again. I stared at my computer screen closely, watching Gerard’s every movement. There has to be something.

I let out a sigh of frustration.

Everything really checks out. the only difference from Gerard’s statements is he actually did leave with Macie. And by the looks of it, I don't think he was going to harm her. It seems like he only lied to protect his relationship.
And for the Chris situation. He was right. He didn't touch him once. He looked like he was ready to rip the bastard’s throat out, but luckily Frank pulled him away just in time. I even looked at the parking lot security footage . Gerard left before Chris even got to his car.
I let out another exhausted sigh as I pulled up Gerard’s file for what felt like the hundreth time. Nothing really stood out. He grew up in a good home. College graduate.
He only has one charge against him on his record. Something about a despute between him and a younger brother. There's not much details on the fight, but it does say there were no weapons involved. It was basically just a huge scene outside of their famly home. The mother got scared and called the police to break it up. Nothing really serious.
I groaned leaning back in my chair.

It wasnt long before my partner Detective Bryar walked in to check up on me.

Bryar chuckled softly at my obvious frustration, “So, how’s the stalking going?”

I glared up at him, “It’s not stalking. Im just doing my job.”

Bryar scoffed lightly, “You’ve looked over those videos dozens of times. You said it yourself. Everything checks out. Why are you still stuck on this guy?”

I groaned, rubbing my eyes, “I dont know. I just have this feeling. There's something off with that Gerard guy, but I just cant put my finger on it.”

Bryar sighed softly, leaning against my desk, “Are you sure you're not just stuck on this guy because he was our only lead on this case?”

I pinched the bridge of my nose gently, “I don't know. That just might be why, but come on Bob what is the possibility he was the last seen with two of the most recent victims the exact day they disappeared?”

Bryar just shrugged, “I don't know, man. You’ve looked over everything you possibly could. Nothing adds up to prove he had any part in this.”

I groaned, sitting up, “I don't know. Just. Just lets keep a close eye on Gerard. I don't trust him.”

Bryar rolled his eyes, “Okay..” He trailed off, “But you go home and actually go get some sleep. It looks like you really need it.”

“Yeah. I think you're right about that one.” I chuckled softly, leaning back up looking towards my computer once more.

I stared Gerard's photo for one more second before letting out a deep sigh and turning off the computer. I started pulling together all of the papers and photos that scattered around my desk and placed them back into the yellow folder.
I groaned, stretching my arms out before finally peeling myself off of my chair. I yawned loudly and began walking out of my office. Bryars right. Maybe a good nights rest will help clear my mind. I smiled at the thought of finally getting to go home and see my family.
Just as I began walking out of my office I was stopped by a frantic officer.

"There's another missing person, Detective."
