If you say, goodbye today

14 year old Gerard was trying to find new hobbies and so far his favorite was art, and he soon learned that he was very good at it too. There weren't many things to do in the hospital so art helped him get through a lot of long and boring days. Gerard also needed something to draw.....or someone. He spent most of his days drawing the small, 13 year old boy with the vibrant hazel eyes. Most of the times he drew him when he wasn't looking, but sometimes he had Frankie pose for him, which Frank found to be boring since he always was moving normally. As him and Frankie walked down the hallway together, Gerard found a sign on the wall that caught his attention. "They're having an art contest here!!!" He yelled excitedly. "Yeah" Frankie said clearly not excited. Gerard signed up for the contest and then went straight back to his room not even remembering where he was walking to in the first place. The drawing was due in a week so he decided that he should get started. "I should draw Frankie!" Gerard thought to himself.


Once Frank had to returned to the room Gerard stopped. "So...Frank I was wondering if I could draw you for my art competition?" He said ready to hear no. "No" Frank answered. "Come on please? Just think it'll be YOU that makes me win this competition if I draw you." Frank thought about it for a minute. "Fine" he groaned out. "Yay! Thank you Frankie!" Gerard said embracing him tightly. Gerard decided to get started on drawing Frankie. He drew his perfect shaped hazel eyes, his perfectly proportioned nose and the outline of his face. His face was perfect for drawing.

~1 week later~

It was the day of the results of the art competition, and Gerard was beyond nervous. He had been working on his piece all week and every time he looked at it, he just saw more and more flaws each time. "You'll be fine Gerard calm down!" Frank said looking at his friend who was now hyperventilating. Once the announcer came on stage, Gerard had about passed out. "Let's start with the 8 year olds them go through ages until we get to the 15 year olds" the announcer said. He started naming people and when the people's names were called they stood up, smiling wide and accepted a ribbon. "Alright time for the 14 year olds" he started. "First place...Gerard Way!" Gerard's jaw dropped. He stood up slowly and walked to the stage to accept his ribbon. When he walked back to where Frankie was he was smiling, happy for his best friend. "You know you win that competition because of my face" Frank said smirking. "Yeah your face sure is pretty" Gerard said back hoping to sound joking when he actually meant it.
