All is Fair in Love and War - Temporarily on Hiatus
Chapter 4 - The Awakening
Ray's POV
"Ah, I'm never drinking again!" I muttered. Where was I? Why is my head feel like it's been bashed in with a brick? Oh right, I've been asleep for 40 years. I open my eyes and saw that my chamber still had the glass closed on it. Well I'm not in a hurry to sit up anyway.
"Water... Need water," Bob?
"Lkjbkgjj!" Frank, Ah Ha. Yup. I heard a mechanical whine , followed by the lifting of my chamber's glass top. Gingerly, I attempted to set up only to be forced back down by dizziness. Evidently Frank did the same because I heard a small thud followed by more the unintelligible murmuring.
Computer: please remain in your chamber. Please remain in your chamber.
"now you tell us," I laughed.
Computer: water will be provided shortly.
" yes! Water!" Bob shouted. It's a strange day when Bob and I are more talkative than Frank. Sure enough the side of our chamber produced a small tray with 2 bottles of water. Interesting.
Computer: please drink all the water provided. Water is necessary to flush out all of the chemicals that put you in cryo sleep.
" Yeah, yeah." I started on my water. Wonderful now I have a computer mother.
It took a full hour of silly directions and groaning before we were up and out of our chambers and sitting at a table. There were coffee cups in our hands which me mostly stared at. The fog was starting to clear from my head, which meant the nerves were starting to appear again. I'm sure the guys feel the same, because no one really spoke. The first few days were allotted to get to feeling normal again. Then they'd learn what they were getting into.
The ship's interior was nothing special. 3 bunks, 3 cryo chambers, viewing & communication area ,1 small kitchen area with a table, and restroom.
"Hey does anybody want to listen to some music?" I asked. Music always made me feel better. Nominal head nods." Any requests?" Nominal head shakes no. "Ok then, I guess it's up to me and my taste."
The computer had just about everything from 1920 until the day we left but I knew just what I wanted to hear. I programed a playlist to include some of my favorite rock of the seventies and eighties. I was born in 2029 but my parents and grandparents would play this for me. When they died, I continued listening to it. Queen, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, Molly Hatchet, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Metallica. "I hope this is okay with you guys." When the beginning of 'Tie your mother down' started playing and they both smiled, I knew that everything was going to be alright. I knew I liked these guys for a reason.

Thx! Its like I have all the puzzle pieces in my hands, but they're not quite gelling yet. But I'm close. At this point, I don't want to just put out some garbage to get it off my plate.
