The Only Hope For Me Is You

FUN GHOUL’S POV:

After I accepted the offer I was shown around the compound. The man that I had first seen, Pete I believe his name was, said that I would be working in the explosives department. I would help Zone 6 come up with bombs that could help them win this war. I was worried about Poison, I knew how much he hated giving up control, I was afraid that he would refuse the offer. I prayed that the group meant more to him than that. That I meant more to him than the silly illusion that he had any control over our environment.
Pete showed me to the room where I would be staying and said that dinner would be served in a hour. I nodded and he left, I watched his back until I saw him turn a corner, leaving me alone. I took a deep breath, allowing myself time to soak in all that has happened in such a short amount of time. Just yesterday everything was normal, we were running from Dracs, traveling the zones. We all had no clue that a bigger plan was at play, that Zone 6 was an underground home for rebels.

I shook my head in disbelief and opened the door to my room. Poison’s head snapped up at the sound of the door being opened. His eyes lit up and his mouth pulled up into a large smile when he saw me. I was immediately wrapped in his arms, he kissed my lips passionately. “Thank the Lord you are safe. I was getting so worried.”

“I'm okay Poison. I was worried that you would reject their offer.” I hugged him tighter, “I was afraid I was going to lose you.”

I heard him chuckle lightly, “No way. This is just a little hitch in the road. We will figure something out. We always do.” I kissed him again, we talked for a while, I learned that Poison was going to a part of the “spies” as he called it. He would go on covert missions for the rebels, and gather intelligence about BL/ind, I wasn't very comfortable with this. But right now I didn't really have that much of a choice.

Soon it was dinner time and Poison and I went to the cafeteria. We quickly got our food, I was amazed, it was hot, warm food. They even had fresh meats, even though I declined, Poison was extremely happy about it. It didn't take to long for us to find Jet and Kobra. Jet’s hair made them easy to find. I couldn't help but smile when I saw their hands were entwined underneath the table.

We sat across from them and we began to eat. I learned that Kobra was a part of security and Jet was working in the mechanics department. I could tell everyone was still in shock. Nobody was completely relaxed, we didn't know if we could trust these rebels. We had no idea what their true intentions were.
We were all dismissed from the cafeteria and told to go to our rooms for the evening. Poison and I walked hand in hand to our austere room. When we reached the room we pushed the two beds on either side of the room together. Poison wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me close. I rested my head on his chest and listened to his heart beat. He mindlessly ran his fingers through my hair. We didn't talk for several minutes, finally Poison spoke up.

“How do you feel about this place Ghoul?”

I took a deep breath, “I don't know…it-it makes me nervous. These huts seem a lot like the enemy we are fighting. There doesn't seem to be much individuality. Everything is so plain.”

I felt Poison nod, “That's what I was thinking as well.”

I sat up and turned to look a Poison, “So what are we going to do?”

“Well…for right now…we lay low. Do what they tell us to do. And when we get our chance we will run.” Poison explained, I nodded my head in agreement. I wanted things to be how they use to be. The four of us against the world.
