Runaway Bride
Prologue
Slinking along the sidewalk that leads to Gerard's house, it begins to dawn on me just how dangerous it is to do what I'm about to do.
Despite the glare of the full moon, reminding me of the cold nights I've spent wishing for a way out, it is warm outside.
If there is a God, I thank it for summer.
Gerard's small bedroom window peeks out from the bottom floor of his house, and I knock on it. I hear a click, and after some effort on his part, the window is open.
"Frank," he whispers, almost breathlessly. He pushes his school backpack out to me, and I sling it over my shoulder. Trying not to drop both his and my backpacks, I assist in the arduous task of getting him through the window.
Once his feet are stable on solid ground, he stumbles a little but regains his footing, and soon enough I have him pinned to the wall, forcing my lips onto his.
He is surprised by my sudden affection, but he kisses me back, his hands roaming my body. After a few seconds, I pull back, staring into the endless pool of hazel that is his eyes.
I grin. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to kiss you again, Gerard."
"I've waited as long as you have," he says with a sigh. "It's nice to be able to do it again, and this time not worrying about who sees."
Chuckling, I hand him his backpack, which he gladly slings onto his shoulder. "Let's get going, before our parents figure out we're gone."
And like that, we're off, trudging down the now-desolate street. We've gone over the plan multiple times, so I trust that he knows what he's doing as we enter a small gas station.
Beef jerky and junk foods line the back wall, and I head straight for it. I grab a grocery bag and begin filling it with various chocolates and candies, along with a few jars of peanut butter and multiple bags of Doritos. Although I'm a vegetarian, I do throw in some jerky for Gerard.
I cringe at the bag's contents, as I know that it isn't exactly healthy. Grimacing, I toss a few pints of chocolate milk as well.
As I stride up to the checkout counter, Gerard at my side, I can tell he's thinking the same thing. I consider dropping everything and going home, but it's too late for that.
The cashier stares us down expectantly as I pull out a wad of cash I'd stolen from my parents.
We pay for our things, and as I push open the doors to leave, I hear the cashier say, "You kids have fun out there!"
Notes
This was sort of a teaser chapter to see if people would like it. The idea for the story came to me just an hour ago, so I'm not sure where it's going. If you like it, leave a comment. I'm probably basing whether or not I continue on if you like it, so...yeah.
Enjoy!

Of course! I'd never be rude like that it does no good for anyone and it's mean. I want to help people improve not be an asshole. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter :D
