Eternity Is An Unbearable Thought

The Air Around Me Still Feels Like a Cage

Do you ever have those days where you wake up, and you just automatically know that you're going to have a shitty day? Well that's what Frank felt like when he woke up and had to run to school to get there on time.

He made it to physics right before the bell, sliding nonchalantly into his seat. Sinus problem kid seemed to be making noises even more obnoxious than usual, sniffing loudly and coughing every five seconds. Ray sat beside Frank in the same shy manner he usually possessed. Braces had assumed an unnatural quietness since his confrontation with Dead Eyes.

Physics went by quickly, as did the remainder of Frank's classes until he was finally on his way to lunch. He was running slightly behind due to his argument with the English teacher on the importance of Edgar Allan Poe (who in Frank's opinion was extremely important).

Frank was almost at the entrance to the cafeteria when someone yanked his hood, dragging him back across the floor, and slammed against the locker. In Frank's face was a kid with an impressive acne problem, aside from the pimples you could tell that whoever he was, he was definitely a Dom.

After about five minutes of intense staring the Dom asked, "What makes you so special?"

I stared at him for a while wondering what that meant. "What the fuck?" Was all I could come up with.

"The new kid, Gerard." Oh, he was talking about Dead Eyes. "Why did he sit with you and not us?" Frank realized that the acne problem kid was just jealous that good ole Dead Eyes wasn't interested in him.

"Hell if I know." Frank shrugged, he had honestly just had enough of being slammed into lockers.

Apparently, Acne Face was not amused with Frank's answer, so in response he punched Frank in the eye. As you might've imagined, being punched by a vampire hurts, a lot.

Frank braced himself, ready to be mutilated when there was a flash and Acne Face was being pinned to the wall opposite Frank by none other than Dead Eyes (apparently Gerard) himself. Gerard proceeded to kick the shit out of the kid who was harassing Frank. When he was finished he left the puddle of what used to be Acne Face on the floor and stalked over to Frank.

"I don't need a goddamn body guard." He shouted in frustration. "I can take care of myself."

"Apparently not." Gerard replied, an amused smile pulling at his lips.

"Why do you even care. What's with the following me around and shit?"

Gerard studied him for a while, as if wondering the answer himself, before finally saying, "You're eyes."

"My what?"

"You have pretty eyes, and you smell unbelievably good." He finished.

"Not the best thing to hear from a vampire." Gerard smiled at Franks comment.

"Who's in the backyard?" Gerard asked suddenly.

Frank just stood there, unable to get his body to move. Had it been Gerard who'd been following him home? Giving him tremors and paranoia? "What do you mean?" He whispered.

"The Grave." Frank didn't appreciate being reminded of his dead mother, so naturally, he blew up.

"You fucking asshole." Frank tried to hit Gerard, but being a vampire, Gerard just grabbed Frank's wrists and held him still as he yelled. "You followed me to my goddamn house, you fucking stalker. What the fuck?"

"Calm down." Gerard said evenly, not deterred by Frank's outburst. "I just wanted to make sure you were safe."

"From what?" The still livid Frank snapped.

"The way they all look at you." Gerard answered with an air of anger. "You don't seem to understand, everyone's blood has a different scent, and yours is very, very enticing. I know it and so does every other vampire in this school. "

Frank just stood there, Gerard still holding his wrists in a vice grip. "Why would you care?" Frank was hopelessly confused. "Don't you dare say my eyes."

"I wish I could tell you, but I have no idea. You're just interesting." Gerard shrugged. Frank wasn't satisfied, but excepted it none the less.

"Whatever, just no more following me home." Frank ordered.

"Then let me escort you." Frank just stared at him again, before realizing he was serious.

"You want to walk me home?" He asked in disbelief.

Gerard nodded. "Just so I know you're okay."

"Whatever helps you sleep at night."

Gerard smiled and disappeared as soon as he had been there, leaving Frank to wonder what the hell was going on.

Aww hey don't worry about them :) you do you. In a matter of years you won't ever see them again. High school is just a way for people to be jerks. Trust me, I graduated and I didn't give a shit about those people and just focused on my grades :) you can do it, I believe in you.

Anyway, i hope you find peace and upload the next chapter soon!
