Eternity Is An Unbearable Thought

Upon returning home, Frank found himself locking the doors and checking the windows. The eyes he had sensed on his back on the way home did not recede. Shivers of paranoia stuttered up his spine, drawing a grimace onto his face and tremors into his fingers.

Despite his stoney exterior, Frank felt fear shoot through his veins like heroin. Only at home would he allow this weak side to show, where he felt safe. But now, with the invisible gaze on his back and his mother's body rotting in the backyard, the safety he once felt had long since dissipated into the vampires' egos.

Even after the invisible gaze disappeared, all Frank could do was sit in his mother's room and do school work until the sun set and his eyes drooped.

School was as miserable as it had been the day before, although the gaze he felt on himself the day before had returned with a vengeance. The vampire Frank had encountered the day before -- Dead Eyes with the red sparks on his irises -- had slowly encroached on Frank's personal space and had never taken his killer eyes away from the smaller boy.

In physics, Sinus Guy was sniffling more than ever and Ray was being a grade A dipshit, what with his incessant tapping. The teacher was too busy outwitting some shit-for-brains dominant to stop Braces Man from turning in his seat and making obnoxious comments about Ray's equally-obnoxious hair and Frank's startling lack of height. Frank was barely containing his chewing comebacks. But as the bell ring and Frank left the classroom behind the majority of the others, he saw Dead Eyes pinning Braces Man to the wall and growling in low tones so no one in the immediate surrounding area could hear him most probably threaten the poor fertile into shitting his pretty pants.

He saw Glasses standing around in the cafeteria with his friends during lunch, but he didn't see Dead Eyes anywhere. Naturally, he associated the two with each other, considering they had the same red sparks in their hazels and uncanny tolerance to Frank's bullshit.

When Frank turned away from Glasses and his goons, he jolted in shock when he saw Dead Eyes sitting next to him, a sketch pad on the table and a pencil in hand. For a moment, all Frank could do was stare in awe as a vampire drew. How fucking strange was that?

"The fuck are you doing here?" he snapped after a long, silent, open-mouthed moment.

Dead Eyes glanced up at him with a smirk, although his eyes betrayed none of his current feelings. Maybe he didn't feel at all? "Why, I'm sitting," replied the vampire smoothly.

"Well, why do you choose here to sit, of all places?" persisted Frank.

Dead Eyes merely shrugged, smiled slightly, and continued drawing. What the fuck was the world anymore?

going home was almost just as eventful in Frank's mind. That invisible gaze was on him again, putting him on edge and setting his nerves ablaze. Who was it that got off on scaring the shit out of him? Other than the majority of the vampiric race.

Everyone. Everyone is the answer.

Wrote this on my phone because I'm away from my laptop for the week. Sorry if, after my co-author's next update, you won't get anything. I'll have something written up, but copy and paste doesn't work on mobile devices, apparently. Ugh.
