Kids in Love
Chapter 15
"If you really do want a change of pace you're gonna need to step out of your comfort zone a little more" Lindsey told her, guiding her away from her usual spots, "I know cardigans are comfortable but I'm gonna hedge a bet that your wardrobe is like at least sixty percent cardigans." Alice blushed because that was an awfully close to being true.
"So what do you suggest? My parents gave me plenty of money so I'm just going to hand creative control over to you completely, that okay?" Alice asked, taking off her cardigan, balling it up and shoving it into her handbag.
The two girls had barely been shopping for an hour and Alice was already weighed down with shopping bags full of t-shirts, dark denim jeans, boots and a decent leather jacket. "One more thing!" Lindsey stopped walking abruptly.
"What could we possibly have forgotten Linds?" Alice sighed and followed her. She was browsing at the make-up counter, testing out pencils and lipsticks on the back of her hand.
"This one." she decided and brought it to the counter. Alice walked with her to pay.
"You're going to need to help me with all of this when we get back to my house you know?"
---
"Frank! I'm going to meet Sheila, I'll be back in a few hours. Love you honey!" Frank's mother shouted into the house. Whenever he went for a night out he always came home safely, but he always managed to end up somewhere different within the house, and somehow it was never his own bedroom. This time he wound up lying half on a bean bag, half on the floor in the garage, he wasn't alone, Gerard was lying sprawled out on the carpet next to him. The guys did that from time to time if Frank was especially drunk. He didn't like to admit it but he was a lightweight and didn't have a very high tolerance for booze.
The loud voice that echoed through the house woke both Frank and Gerard up. They both groaned loudly as they sat up, Gerard was able to stand first, he threw a bottle of water and a box of aspirin over to his friend. "Ugh, thanks man." Frank rubbed his eyes and opened the bottle taking a few large gulps to was down the tablets. "My head is fucking splitting, what did I do lastnight, god!" he cursed himself, he'd had so many hangovers in the past but he never learnt from his mistakes. Gerard laughed at him.
"You didn't even drink that much man. At the end of last night you were trying to fucking suck the face off this little brunette, Mikey told me it was pretty disgusting up close." Frank could barely recall that. "You are such a slutty drunk."
Alice popped into his mind, he remembered dancing with her but he had no idea what had happened to her after that, "Did Alice get home okay last night?"
"Yeah, Ray drove us all home from the club. She was fine. Actually she set me up with this amazing girl!" Gerard began to gush, "She was so gorgeous and funny and she's an artist as well. Shit man, she was like perfect. What are the rules on calling girls nowadays?" he took out his cell phone and rooted deeper in his pocket pulling out a crumpled napkin.
"I don't know, three days maybe?" Franks head ached when he had to put it to any use at all.
"Yeah, but what are the rules if you really like her, I mean, really like her?" Gerard pleaded,
"Well, wait twenty four hours at least man! Jeez she's probably still asleep, chill." Frank groaned, "and shut off the light!"
"Whatever dude. I'm gonna go make breakfast, it's already like one o'clock." Gerard flicked on and off the light as he left the room, Frank threw a cushion at him.
Frank couldn't believe how stupid he was. If Gerard knew he'd made out with some random girl at that club there was no doubt that Alice knew about it as-well. He made a fool of himself in front of the one person he actually wanted to impress. Why had her put so much effort into his performance for her if he was just going to make himself look like an ass right after. He let out a frustrated sigh and forced himself to get up off the floor, thankfully the aspirin was kicking in. He made his way out to the kitchen where Gerard stood with a bowl of cereal in one hand his cellphone in the other. "Dude, are you calling her?" he asked. Gerard blushed as though he'd been caught.
"No, no way!" He buried his phone in his pocket.
"Dude, did you text her?"
"Well, no one said there were any rules against texting and..." he reasoned, more with himself then Frank.
"Whatever man, if you like her go for it I guess." Frank sat on the cool kitchen counter and took another large gulp from his bottle of water.
He debated whether or not he should tell someone about what he was feeling, his emotions were all over the place in a way they hadn't been for years. And he reason why was was all too obvious to him. "Gerard, can I talk to you about something?"
Notes
Here's today's chapter! Hope everyone's doing well.
I'm just going to shamelessly plug my other fic here. I got bored today so I wrote a smutty Ger-Z one-shot called That Red Lipstick. If you can't think of anything else to do or if you feel like reading some straight-up smut then have a peek!
Once again I implore all of you silent readers to comment, it's really great to hear from you. It makes you feel more like people than numbers on a screen, it feels a lot more personal or something. I don't know...

I just came across this story and it's so good I love it! I read the whole thing in one day!
for some reason it seems pointless for me to ask for an update, but I will anyways.
I need to know how it ends! You'd be the most amazing person ever if you update this now after so long!
