You're Beautiful To Me

I make my way down the hallway to Miles' room, the door closed so I knock softly before opening it a few seconds later but the room is empty so I frown in confusion as I make my way down further to Anna's room, knocking again and I hear a muffled giggle as I slowly open the door and I find Anna and Miles laying in her bed together under the covers, both of them giggling softly as they lay facing each other and I stand in the doorway and smile wide as they both turn their heads to look over at me. "Hey guys are you's hungry?" I ask and they both nod. "Dad and I are going to order some takeout so what would you guys like?" "Pizza" they both answer at the same time before turning to face each other again and they start giggling again, making me laugh too. "Ok come on we're gonna watch a movie too" I tell them and they both climb out of the bed and follow me from the room, all three of us going into the living room where Frank is waiting with takeout menus and his phone.

After the movie is finished I send Miles for a bath while I sit at the table and with Anna and help her with her homework and by the time we finish i realise Miles hasn't come out of the bathroom yet so I leave Anna to pack up her stuff while I go down the hallway and knock on the bathroom door, getting no response so I slowly start to open the door but it only opens a few inches before it makes contact with something and I hear Miles scream "No" before the door is pushed back against me. "Allie baby what's wrong?" I ask as I let the door slam shut but the only response I get is now audible sobs. "Allie honey let me in" I ask, trying to open the door again and I manage to get it open a little further before its stopped again and I lean in and see the thing stopping the door is Miles. I sigh as I squeeze my way through the small opening, closing the door behind me before I turn my attention on Miles who is sitting curled up on the floor in his underwear, tears streaming down his cheeks as his wet hair sticks to his forehead and cheeks and as I kneel down infront of him I notice raw, angry looking scratch marks on his thighs, some of them bleeding slightly. "Baby what happened to your legs?" I ask, my stomach dropping as he sobs out "I don't want it, I don't like it" and I realise he did it to himself. "Oh baby" I choke out as I shift around to sit, reaching out and gently pulling his little body into my lap where he curls up against my chest and sobs into my shirt, my arms wrapped so tightly around him I'm afraid I'm hurting him but he doesn't object, curling even further into my chest as his sobs slowly quieten down.
