I woke up to the feeling of someone breathing softly on me, I started to panic until I realized that it was just Frank and not some idiot trying to murder me. His arm was still wrapped around me tight, protecting me. I looked over at the clock, it was 7:42. We had been asleep for over 3 hours. I’m surprised Frank wasn’t up yet. I looked over at him. His mouth was slightly parted, letting out tiny breaths of air that tickled my face. He was also snoring softly in such a cute way that I couldn’t help but smile. I sighed and pressed my forehead to his forehead.

“I love you Frankie.” I said, smiling.

“And I love you Gee,” he mumbled. I watched him groggily open his eyes and get back into the living. He blinked the rest of sleep from his eyes and looked up at me with that lazy smile that made my heart skip beats. He stared into my eyes, leaning in. When I was about to lean in too, he pulled back smirking at me.

“Fucking tease,” I grumbled. He just laughed at me and ruffled my bed head, I swatted his hand away.

“Hey, Gee you need to tell Patrick what happened today with Brittany. I know it affected you, I ca n tell.” Frank said all of a sudden. I groaned. I hated talking about myself to people.

“I don’t know Frank,” I sighed. He just gave him his Frankie look. The one that I couldn’t help but resist. I grumbled, but out of the bed none the less. “Will you be there with me?” I asked.

He nodded, “Of course. You don’t have to ask, anytime you don’t want me there just say so okay?”

I nodded and walked out the door. I walked down the hall and into the family room where I saw Pete asleep in Patrick’s arms. He looked over at us standing in the doorway and muted the TV.

“You ready to talk Gerard?” He asked while softly untangling himself from Pete. I nodded. He indicated for us to follow him into the kitchen, is at down in a chair and Patrick gave me a cup of coffee that he already had made, just waiting for me. I nodded my thanks and watched him sit down next to me. “So, what happened today that made you have a panic attack.

I looked down at my sleeves and started to play with a loose string. “I was exciting my last class of the day and going to my locker to get my books. When this girl named Brittany came up and started to touch me, I didn’t like it. It started to bring back memories of what Cobalt did to me. And then Frankie came up to her and helped me get away.” I explained. I started to trace the bloody cuts her nails made on my already scarred skin. I looked up to see Patrick staring at me.

“Let me see your wrist.” He softly said while holding his hand out. I gave him my wrist and he inspected the cuts, tracing them with his finger. His cold finder against my hot skin made me shiver. He looked at me sadly. I could feel the tears coming to my eyes.

“Why does this happen to me?” I sobbed into my hands. I felt Frank wrap his arms around me, I sobbed into his shoulder.

“Because,” Patrick stated. “Someone up there wanted to punish the good kids. The ones that had done nothing wrong in their life. The ones that this does not need to happen to. You don’t deserve this, no one does. But I know you can get through this. Do you want to know why?” I nodded. “It’s because you’re a fighter. A warrior. You have gotten this far in life, you can fight for longer. Don’t let your inner demons conquer you. you need to fight them. You need to survive. The world needs you Gerard, you might not know it, but the world needs you.”
