You're The Only Hope For Me

It took a moment for what had just happened to sink in.
Hazel met Gerard's eyes and the two of them stared at each other for what seemed like a long moment. Clara clapped a hand over her mouth and darted looks at the two of them with wide eyes. Gerard's eyes were empty and his features resembled a mask, hard and unchanging, as he stared right through Hazel at nothing in particular. Hazel felt the tears rolling down her face, hot against her skin, and made no effort to brush them away. Instead she let them fall freely as she stared down into her lap, the salty water splashing against her tightly clasped hands.
Suddenly she could take it no longer, Hazel let out a strangled gasp as she stood up and closed the distance between Frank's bed and the window. She sensed Gerard close behind her and presumed Clara was following him, her tears were flowing thickly and obscuring her vision so there wasn't any point of turning around to look.
Once she was standing beside his bed Hazel took Frank's cool hand and began stroking it gently, Gerard stood on the other side and stared forlornly down at his best friend.
Hazel wanted to say something, anything, but her love for Frank and misery at his loss was too much to put into words so she just stood there in silence as the tears flowed even heavier. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Gerard's eyes begin to water, tears leaking out if the corners of his eyes and slipping down his emotionless face.
Hazel was jerked out of her sorrow by the sound of a voice, a voice which was the last sound she expected to hear at that moment and it scared her senseless and made her eyes widen that she did.
"Sorry, but who do you want back?"
"FRANK!" Hazel screamed and threw herself across his chest as Gerard did the same. The two of them squashed Frank as they landed, their tears turning to laughter which made them grin so widely they thought their faces would split.
"Ribs! Ribs!" Frank exclaimed and the two of them hastily stood up, settling for grinning down at him instead.
"How? How? You? But the machine?" Gerard stuttered, unable to form the sentence as his face glowed with the perfect smile.
"I woke up and everything was blurry and distorted, then I gathered myself a bit and was trying to listen to what you were saying, but I couldn't hear for the machine. It's beeping was giving me a headache so I ripped the wires out where they connected into it." Frank said simply and Hazel stared at him, then at the wires hanging unplugged from the monitor, then back to him again. She then averted her eyes to Gerard but he didn't look back at her.
Instead he was looking at Clara and she was staring back intently, he suddenly crashed his lips onto hers and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They kissed passionately and Gerard lifted Clara of her feet, swinging her round. He then quickly let go of her and flung himself across Frank's bed, his face almost touching Frank's.
They looked into each other’s eyes for a moment, both of them smiling beautifully, before they closed the gap between them, Hazel couldn't tell which one of them had moved in for the kiss but she suspected they both had. Frank reached up his hand to tangle it in Gerard's hair and closed his eyes, Gerard smiled and Hazel found herself smiling at them. It was actually so cute and she didn't mind the fact at all that her boyfriend was kissing her "brother", in fact, she totally agreed with it!
Clara seemed to take it better than Frank's ex-girlfriend had; she just smiled down at them both and quietly went, "Awww."
Hazel made a heart shape with her fingers, making sure Frank and Gerard were at the centre of it, causing herself and Clara to start giggling. When Gerard eventually pulled away Frank lay with his eyes still closed, Gerard pulled back the covers and slipped in beside Frank and Frank put his arm around him.
"Congrats!" Hazel winked at Clara, gently nudging her arm.
Clara went a cute shade of pink, and stared at her feet, "Thanks." She muttered, with a shy smile.
"Hey I did it!" Hazel exclaimed, "I finally made you blush!"
"I don't care!" Clara laughed, "I succeeded in my ambition too!"
Hazel hugged her and Clara hugged back, but pulled away when Gerard gestured at her to come join them. Clara walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, Gerard took her hand and smiled a dazzling smile at her, which she returned of course.
Hazel stood watching her friends with a big grin on her, they were happier than she'd seen them in a long time and she was too. She took out her phone and quickly took a picture before pocketing it again, continuing to smile stupidly.
"Hazel?" Frank's voice called, snapping her back to reality.
"Yeah?" She whispered excitedly.
"Come here, I need to tell you something." He commanded and Hazel obeyed, walking over and kneeling down beside his bed so he could see her face.
"Go on?" She urged, smiling at him.
"Come closer, please?" He requested and Hazel obligingly moved her head towards Frank's partly outstretched hand.
"I love you." Frank whispered before quickly pulling her head towards his, kissing her smiling lips with his own perfect ones.
Hazel hadn't kissed him in weeks, but as far as she could remember none of the kisses had felt as good as this. He quickly pushed his tongue into her mouth, not bothering to request access in anyway. She smiled and felt Frank smile too, it was the most perfect thing ever and happiness inside her seemed to swell, as did her love for Frank which she hadn't thought could grow anymore.
"I love you too." Hazel whispered and he kissed her harder as the tears returned to her cheeks.
"Hey, hey, why are you crying? Don't cry, baby, it's gonna be alright!" Frank soothed, pulling away from her to wipe her tears with his thumb.
"I just thought I was gonna lose you, I thought you were never coming back and I was never gonna see you again!" Hazel choked as she clasped his hand in her own.
"I'd never leave you, I'd go to Hell and back for you, Hazel, if I got to Heaven I'd come straight back down because if you weren't there it wouldn't be anything close to Heaven." Frank promised her and Hazel felt herself smile as her tears flowed even quicker, "I love you more than anything. Nothing will ever get between us, I wouldn't allow it, and even if it did I'd do whatever it took to make it back to you. I love you so fucking much, and I always will, that's a promise."
Hazel kissed his forehead as she smiled and he gently wiped away her tears with the back of his hand.
"Come on." Frank held back the duvet and pulled her in next to him, securing her in place with his arm around her.
So the four of them lay there in the small bed; Hazel with her hand across Franks stomach, gently resting on his lower abdomen and taking care not to hurt his ribs, Frank with one arm around Hazel and the other around Gerard, Gerard relaxing into Franks hold whilst he in turn held Clara with his own arm around her shoulders, Clara curled into Gerard with her arm stretched across his chest and holding his hand from the arm which want around her. All of them with closed eyes and massive grins on their faces.

Do you like me again now? Or did you ever like me in the first place? Or did you always like me anyway even though I nearly killed Frank? XD
This is getting near the end of the story now, but I've had a few ideas and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a sequel? Like I don't wanna get ahead of myself if no one would read it, but if anyone would like one I could write a story that includes more about Gerard and Clara as well as Hazel and Frank. So if you could let me know if you're interested and perhaps even comment ideas please?
