It's a not so secret, secret

I went inside ignoring gee when he tried to talk to me. I knew he was just gonna tell me that it's okay and that I'll make friends eventually but I don't want to hear the rehearsed bullshit. He says the exact same thing to every kid he's ever taught and I don't really care to hear it.

I want friends, but I want to do it my own way and at least this kid I'm going to text knows I have an issue already because of the group. So he can't be that scared especially since I said I had epilepsy during the session and he should know what to expect.

I locked my door and took my phone out which, yes I can use phones but I have to the brightness all the way down, and entered the number written on my arm.

•hey it's Nathan from the group thing you said to text you so..ya

-oh hey! I'm billie, y know from the group haha.

•haha hey billie, so what's up why'd you wanna talk?

-haha want me to be honest with you?

•uh yea that'd be nice

-well to be honest you're cute ;)

•.......I don't really know how to respond to that haha....aren't you like way older than me?

-I'm only 20. Is that too much of a gap? Or like are you straight? Don't tell me you're homophobic with your dads being gay?

•no I'm not homophobic and I'm not really straight or gay I just like whoever I meet I guess haha.

-well you met me...

•ya but we don't know each other.

-let's get to know each other. Are you able to FaceTime Nathan?

•ya but be quiet my dads are here at home with me.

-okay. ;)

i exited out of the messages and plugged my phone in so it wouldn't die during our conversation.

He called me and I hit the accept button and his face appeared on my screen.

"Hey Nathan." He smiled

"hey billie. What's up?"

"just talking to this cute guy." He smirked.

I remained silent and awkwardly didn't respond.

"Your awkwardness makes you about twenty times cuter you do realize that right?"

"Uh no not really..haha." I said trying not to make eye contact with him through the screen.

"What has no one ever called you cute before?"

"Well no, I don't actually have any friends because of the epilepsy. It tends to scare them all away and I can't watch movies or shit in school because lights and sounds can trigger the seizures so I look like a freak when I have to leave class all the time." I ranted on.

"So you don't have friends?" He asked in disbelief

"no, no friends just me."

"What are you doing tonight then? I'm actually having a little get together with like three other dudes and you can come if you want. There'll be beer food movies and maybe some weed." He said.

"Billie I don't know...we only met today and I don't know you're friends plus I've never drunk or smoked before."

"How are you supposed make friends if you won't go out and meet people? Trust me it'll be fun I'll give you my address and you can come over."

"What about my dads?"
I questioned since there would be no way in hell they'd approve of me going to a party with someone they didn't know.

"Just sneak out later. The others aren't gonna be there until like one am so sneak out at midnight and we can hang out before they show. So what do you say Nathan?"

I thought for a minute and decided billie seemed like a pretty trustworthy guy and that there's be no harm in making friends with him. I mean yea he's six years older than me but so what dad and gee are eight years apart.

"Yea send me you're adress I'll be there."
