It's a not so secret, secret

Dad was waiting for me when I got home and when he saw me crying and covered in blood he immediately thought the worst.

"if he did this I'm killing that mother fucker!" He snapped angrily.

I shook my head and pointed to my mouth. my dad just stared at me in confusion. I walked into the kitchen and opened my mouth letting the blood out into the sink.

I turned on the water and cupped my hands then rinsed my mouth wincing at the pain from my tongue. I then turned to dad and opened my mouth pointing to my tongue.

"Shit did you have a seizure?!" He asked worriedly.

I nodded.

"Why didn't I get a call? They're supposed keep track of you." He said sounding mad.

I pulled out my phone and went to the notes app then began typing.

'gym class, hit my head. You probably didn't get called because no one reported it from the locker room'

i handed it to him and I saw him struggle to read it with the brightness all the way down. he must've managed to make out the words though and frowned.

"no one reported it?" He asked

I shook my head and then spit some more blood out of my mouth.

"Did anyone help you?" He asked.

I took my phone back and typed again.

'No'

he read it and shook his head "Nathan I'm so sorry."

I just shrugged in response. It really didn't bug me that no one helped I was just on edge after seeing my ex making out with someone only a few days after we ended and I left.
He didn't even look for me, or care if I saw him.

"Do you want to go get it stitched? I can call off work and take you now." He said

I shook my head and typed again.

'No I can wait for gee to take me I'm fine it's just blood'

he nodded but still seemed a little unsure. "Are you okay? You aren't lying or anything, because Nathan you really need to tell me if billie did this."

I shook my head and made a crossing motion over my heart. ''Cross my heart'' I said though my voice was gurgled and it hurt to talk.

2 days later (Saturday)

i was laying in my room being bored and playing with my tongue feeling the stitches moving around as I moved it.
I sighed and decided that today I wanted to do something.

I have been feeling like shit ever since what happened with billie and I want to move on just like he had to some kid. But I didn't want just some kid I actually wanted to meet someone that would make me happy and not hurt me.

I walked to the mall disregarding my dads telling me not to leave the house and sat in the food court.
I people watched for awhile and got myself a smoothie since I couldn't eat solid with the stitches and I wasn't supposed to use straws and the smoothies were thick enough to eat with a spoon.

Around one o'clock the mall was pretty packed and the food court was filled with people looking for tables. I was sitting by myself at a four person table but I didn't really care to move.

Eventually a tall skinny kid with black hair walked over to my table. "Hey is it cool if I sit here? I only have like twenty five minutes of break to eat anyways so I'll be gone soon." He asked.

he was carrying a tray holding a salad and what looked like a Pepsi. I nodded "ya sure."

"Cool thanks." He said taking the seat diagonal to me.

I noticed he was wearing a name tag that said 'COLE' on it in bold letters under the journey's logo.

"You work at journeys?" I asked pointing to the name tag.

"Ya haha I do, I'm kind of a sneaker head except instead of Jordan's or whatever I collect vans and chucks." He smiled.

"I need a new pair of vans mine ripped." I said looking at my feet which had a pair of plain grey vans with a hole down the side.

"That sucks." He laughed.
"Well I'm cole as you can see by name tag what's your name?" Cole asked.

"I'm Nathan or Nate but never Nathaniel." I joked.

"Cool." He smiled again and god he had perfect teeth.
"Why don't you stop by journeys whenever your leaving? I'm there until three and I can hook you up with a discount on a new pair of vans if you want."

"Seriously?" I asked

"ya seriously just stop by." He said

"okay cool I will." I smiled.

"Awesome I'll see you later Nathan." He said with a wink as he got up and walked away.

Ya I'll definitely be stopping by journeys later
