Vampires Will Never Hurt You

You're Falling In Love Again

Gerard’s POV
*1 Month Later*

“Mikey!” I call from his room. He appears in the doorway moments later, a confused expression on his face.

“Why are you in my room?”

“Never mind me, why is this in your room?” I ask, holding up a condom wrapper I found on his dresser.

“What, am I not allowed to have sex?”

“Please excuse me if this is inappropriate but the supposed love of your life died last month. I just didn’t expect you to get over it so fast,” I tossed the wrapper in the trash and sat on the bed, indicating that I wasn’t going anywhere without an explanation.

“Yes, Gerard, I loved Hayley. But after a week of sobbing at her grave I realized just one little thing; she was going to kill you,” he said as if I didn’t remember taking an arrow to the chest because of her. “I just wish I wasn’t naïve enough to think she loved me too,” he said sadly and walked into to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. I knocked on the door and he stuck his head out.

“Who is it?”

“What?”

“The person you’re having sex with, who is it?”

He sighed, “I’ll bring him over for dinner tonight and you can meet him. Can I take my shower now?” I smiled and nodded.

Mikey’s POV

When I finished my shower I walked into the living room to find it completely spotless.

“Gerard, you didn’t have to clean, he’s not dating me for my cleanliness,” I said and sat on the couch, grabbing the remote.

“I know I didn’t have to, but I wanted to,” he said as he finished setting the table. The doorbell rang and I stood up.

“I’ve got it, Gee,” I said, laughing at how eager he was to meet him. I opened the door and smiled when I saw him standing there.

“Hey, Mikey,” he said, a smile appearing on his face when he saw me.

“Hey, Ray,” I return his smile and hug him tightly. I invite him inside and Gerard’s face flashes with recognition when he sees him. I look to Ray only to see the same expression.

“Wait, what’s going on here? Do you two know each other?” I ask, confused.

“Yeah… oh my god, how long has it been?” Gerard said, a smile spreading across his face.

“Let’s see, um,” Ray began to count on his fingers. “Seven years. Holy shit, how are you, Gee?”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on a second. How do you know each other?”

“We met a few months after I was turned,” Gerard started. “Remember, I ran away from home? Well, I met Ray at a bar one night and he drunkenly let it slip that he was a vampire too. After that he was the only person who kept me sane when I was craving blood. He taught me to drink from blood bags instead of hunting. I even moved in with this guy.”

“Until I come home to find a note on the fridge and all his stuff gone. What did it say again? ‘Don’t bother trying to find me’?” Ray laughed.

“Oh come on, Ray, it was way less dramatic than that.”

“Right, well I’m gonna let you two catch up,” I said, walking backwards toward my room as I kept talking. “I’m just gonna be a minute, go ahead and start eating without-” I stopped when I ran into something. I turned around to see Frank standing before me.

“Hey, Mikes,” he said as he walked into the dining room. I muttered a greeting and continued to my room, locking the door behind me.

“Oh my god,” I mumbled to myself as I paced my room. “This is great, my girlfriend was a vampire hunter and my boyfriend is vampire. I swear this only happens in fiction,” I ran my hands through my hair as my mumbling got louder. “Then again, I thought vampires only happened in fiction, but now I’m living with two and dating another.”

“Did you say something, Mikey?” Gerard called.

“No, nothing; I’m as quiet as a mouse!” I yelled, laughing nervously. I took a few deep breaths and walked back into the dining room.

“Everything okay, Mikes?” Ray asked when he saw how distressed I probably looked.

“Yeah, yeah, everything’s fine,” I lied as I slurped my soup. “Wow, this is really good Gee. Is there garlic in it?”

“Yeah,” he answered as he sipped his glass of coke.

“So that’s just a myth then? Vampires aren’t opposed to garlic?” I heard Frank chuckle at my question.

“Nope,” he smiled as he shoved a large spoonful in his mouth.

We didn’t talk much the rest of the night. Gerard put on a movie that he and Ray had watched together sometime before and they laughed at it together while I browsed the internet on my phone.

“What did you think, Mikey?” Gerard asked. I looked up and realized the credits were rolling.

“Oh, um… it was, uh, good I guess,” I stammered trying not to seem like I didn’t pay attention at all. Ray yawned and I asked if he wanted to sleep over. Gerard said it would be okay and we walked to my room together, holding hands as we did so. I jumped onto the bed and Ray closed the door behind him, climbing up next to me on top of the soft duvet.

I stared at the ceiling, lost in my thoughts, barely noticing when he began kissing my jawline. He propped himself up on his side, one arm strewn across my chest as he kissed down my neck. I didn’t respond, just lay there thinking.

“Are you okay?” he asked, a concerned look on his face.

“Um…” I thought for a moment, “yeah.”

“Are you sure?” he asked again. “This isn’t about the fact that me and Gerard were friends before, is it?”

“Sort of,” I mumbled.

“Well, what is it exactly that’s bothering you?” he asked as he sat up next to me with his legs tucked under him.

I mumbled something that not even I could understand and he told me to speak up, to which I responded “did you and Gerard ever…”

“God no, is that what you were worried about?” I silently nodded and he lay back down, pulling me into his arms, my back against his stomach.

“I liked Gerard, but he was always like a brother to me,” he said as he ran his fingers through my hair.

“Does this make us related?” I joked, smiling when I heard him laugh.

“I hope not, because then I wouldn’t be able to do this,” he turned me over and kissed me, his hand running under my shirt and up my back. He pulled away and smiled, “good night.”

That boy sure knew how to taunt me.

Notes

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in so long! I've been really busy and I don't get many chances to write, not to mention I seem to have long term writer's block. Future updates will probably be really infrequent, sorry! Remember to rate/comment/subscribe if you enjoyed, and feedback is always welcome c:
