Two New Chapters, Same book.

12 hours. That’s how long I was in labor, 12 fucking hours; this was starting to bug me. With the twins, I had both of them out in like 8 hours. I guess this one in here didn’t want to leave me just yet.

“Frank, time please?” I asked.

“2:30 in the morning.” He said looking at his watch then yawning. Gerard was out cold on the chair next to me.

“I’ve been doing this for hours, I want him out.” I stated to no one.

“Me too.” Frank said then moved so he was kneeling in front of my belly. “Come on little one, we really want you out of there. Once you’re out, we can all get some needed sleep.”

“Please listen to your father.” I begged the baby inside of me.

After the passing of yet another contraction, Dr. Toro came in to check on me and the baby.

“Alright Mikey,” He said as he put my legs down, “Looks like someone is ready to start pushing.” He turned away to put on a mask, “Why don’t we get started while your husband puts on some scrubs, and if you would like, your brother can to.” He said point to a still sleeping Gee.

I nodded and so did Frank, I propped my legs up; ready to start pushing, but I waited for Frank to wake up Gerard, I didn’t want him to see anything he didn’t want to. Frank shook him a few times before he woke with a start.

“Did I miss it?” He asked and looked at me.

I couldn’t help but laugh at him.

“No but I’m about to start pushing, you can be in the room if you want but you have to go change with Frank.”

“Do you want me in the room?” Gee asked.

“You’re my big brother, of course I do.” I honestly answered,

“Okay then,” he turned to Frank, “Let’s get changed then.”

They both stood up and started to walk away with a nurse. Before they left though, Gerard kissed me on the head and told me to stay strong and Frank pecked my lips and told me how proud he is of me. I smiled at the both of them, but as I got another wave of my body tensed up and I remembered I was about to give birth.

“Alright Mikey,” Dr. Toro said as he pulled on some gloves, “Let’s have a baby.”
