Burn Bright

I drove to school and just sat in the parking lot for two hours waiting for class to start. I could have been at home taking a shower r even changing my clothes but I didn’t want to near Gerard right now. He had his chance but it past and now I’m with Andy. But why did I kiss him back? That wasn’t right though, I’m in love with Andy, right?

For two hours I ignored every call and text from Gerard, when I got to class, I couldn’t focus on what we were being taught because every 5 seconds my phone would vibrate in my pocket. All I had to do was ignore him for the next hour and then I would be good for the next 3 weeks. He was supposed to leave for tour in the next hour and I would be Gerard clear.

During lunch I usually head home to get some food or go out for some taco’s at some cheap place, but when I walked out of class at the begging of lunch, Gerard was in front of his car, parked right in front of my class. He was leaning against his car waiting for me, when he saw me, he moved to show the bag of taco’s and shook them in my face. If I wasn’t so hungry I would have walked away but I skipped breakfast so I walked over to him, grabbed the bag from his hands, and headed into his car.

He didn’t say a word as we drove, he just drove. At first I didn’t know where we were going at first but when I saw familiar streets, I knew exactly where we were going. The park where we first met. He stopped the car and took the bag from my lap before I could stop him then he ran down to the jungle gym. I couldn’t help but smile as I ran after him. When he stopped he sat on the top and I sat next to him, we started to eat in silence before he spoke.

“I get that your mad at me-” he started.

“I’m not mad, I’m glad that you were being honest but, I’m in love with Andy.” I interrupted.

“And I understand, he’s a great guy. But after almost 20 years, I formed feelings for you.”

“I understand that. After the forst time we slept together I started to get feelings for you.”

“You did?” he asked.

“Yeah.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because you were with that Megan girl, and I didn’t want you to feel obligated to do anything. So for your benefit I didn’t tell you.” I truthfully said.

“For my benefit?”

“Yeah,”

“But you don’t have feelings for me anymore?” He asked.

“I’m in love with Andy.”I said not really answering his question.

“Okay.” He said, we both started eating, filling this us in silence.

Soon we heard really loud honking that made us both look up. There was a big tour bus at the park; both Gerard and I knew that bus belonged to My Chemical Romance.

“I told the guys I would be here with you.” He stood up and fished in his pocket for his keys then tossed them to me. I caught them then stood up.

“You and Andy are perfect for each other.” He told me then gave me a hug. We only broke apart because the bus honked again, he gave me one last smile before heading off for tour.
