Burn Bright

Gerard and I watched horror movies in my room until about 5am; I passed out on the bed next to him. I think he was still awake when I fell asleep. When I woke up I was pressed right up against Gerard and his arms were securely wrapped around me. I think we was still asleep when I woke up but I wasn’t completely sure yet. I took a deep breath and started to get up but Gerard’s arms tightened on me, keeping me in place.

“Don’t leave just yet.” He told me.

“Why?”

“I miss this, just you and me. We don’t get a lot of this time anymore….” He said as his fingers trailed over the sides of my arms.

“Okay.” I said and then I snuggled into his chest.

We stayed like that for a while until we both heard our stomach grumble. We both laughed, I started to get up but Gerard held me down and flipped out positions so I was laying down and he was snuggled into my chest.

“Gee! I’m hungry! Move!” I said squirming under his grasp, I couldn’t get up and he laughed at my attempts.

“Never!” He laughed again then barley got up.

He shifted so his head was barely over mine and he was looking directly into my eyes. We stayed like that for a bit until his lips softly pressed against mine. At first I was shocked but I couldn’t help myself but kiss him back as he tangled his fingers in my hair. The kiss started to get heated when I tangled my hands in his hair and he shifts in between my legs. I felt like teenager again, making out with Gerard in one of our beds. Who knows how far things would have gone if my phone didn’t start ringing with Andy’s ringtone. We broke apart and he got off of me so I could answer it.

“Hey babe.” I said into the phone.

“Hey Kasey, just wanted to call to say I love you.” Andy told me.

“I love you to babe.”

“The guys and I just hit the road, do you know if MCR hit the road yet, maybe we could all meet up.” He wondered.

“No they haven’t yet, Gerard is still here with me… I was helping him pack.” I lied.

“Okay, well I’ll see you around, love you!”

“Love you to.” I said before he hung up. I took a deep breath before I turned to face Gerard.

“What was that about?” I asked.

“I don’t know, I-it just felt right.” He said.

“Okay, well I’m in love with Andy. Let’s just forget about it.” I said.

“I don’t want to forget about it.” He said and looked at me.

I froze in my steps; did he just say he liked me? Where was this 6 years ago when I wanted him so badly? He stood up from his seat and walked over to me and cupped my cheeks.

“I want you, choice me, not Andy, but me.” He pleaded with me.

“I have class.” I told him, it wasn’t a complete lie, but I still grabbed my bag and ran out of the house and into my car. I needed to clear my mind.
