Our Lady Of Sorrows

****Gerard's P.O.V*****

"Alright dad, come here and cut the umbilical cord." The doctor told me.

I let go of Liz's hand and went over to the end of the bed. The doctor was holding a little baby girl. My baby girl. She was blue and yelling her little lungs out, I felt my heart melt as I cut the cord and held her in my hands. She was cover in some type of fluid and had some blood on her but she was perfect.

"Ok dad go ahead and take the baby to the nursery." The doctor said interpreting my thoughts.

I nodded and started to walk, I stopped and leaned over Liz and whispered thank you to her. Without her I wouldn't be holding such a perfect human being in my arms. I didn't wait for a response from her because I knew I wouldn't get one. I made my way down to the nursery, before Liz started pushing the doctors told me where it was. The only time I looked away from her face was when I thought I was going to run into a wall. Once of the nurses saw me walking in and she smiled and made her way over to me.

"Here," she said and held her arms out for my baby, I didn't want to let her go just yet. The nurse saw that and started to laugh. "I'm just gonna clean her up a bit, while I do that you can fill out the birth certificate."

I nodded and handed over my baby girl. She gave me the papers; the basic questions were there. Name if father. Name of mother. Name of baby. Gender. Time of birth. And weight.

I put my name on as well as Liz's name on the document just in case she changed her mind about the baby. I really hoped she did. She was born at 7:26 pm, although I didn't know how much she weighed. I had her name planned for a couple of weeks, although Mikey, Frank, and my parents wanted to know, I decided to leave it a surprise. Well, until now.

Clare Elena Way.

"She weights 6.5 pounds in case you were wondering." The nurse who took my baby told me.

I smiled and thanked her before writing it down and giving her back the papers. In a matter of minutes my daughter was back in my arms. She wasn't crying anymore, she had fallen asleep, and now she was clean. I ran my finger over the soft skin on her cheek, she stirred a bit in her sleep but didn't wake up.

"Mr.Way?" I looked up from Clare and saw the nurse, "Your family is here to see the baby." She informed me, soon enough my family came in the room wearing scrubs.

My mom ran over to me and "awwed" at her and my dad and Mikey were both smiling. I had a huge smile on my face as I showed off my baby girl.

"Can I hold her." My mom asked.

"Sure." I carefully handed her to my mom and watched as she held her.

"Can we know her name now?" Mikey asked.

"Clare Elena Way."

"Sweetheart that's beautiful." My mother told me then passed Clare to my father, Mikey was still eagerly waiting to hold her.

"Where's Frank?" I asked.

"He's with Liz, he said he'd stop by later when she calmed down." Mikey answered.

"Calmed down?" I asked,

"Apparently she's in tears."

After Mikey said that no one said anything, the only noise made was when Clare started crying in my fathers arms. I rushed over to her and took her out of his arms, she cries turned into screams as I tried to get her asleep again.

"I think I know what the problem is." One of the nurses said as she came by with a bottle. "I think she may be hungry."

"Thank you." I told her and took the bottle and started to feed her.

When she was done eating I burped her and rocked her till she fell back asleep. Only then did I let Mikey hold her. I knew she would be in good hands with my family and the doctors here so I got up to leave.

"Where are you going?" My father asked.

"To check on Liz, I still love her." I told them as I walked to her room.
