**Gerard's POV**
I hope I ordered what she wanted.... Whatever, she'll eat it anyway. It's just glorified lettuce mingling in a bowl of dry bread, bacon bits, and dressing; I'm sure she won't mind.
"Yeah, we haven't spoken in ages, I don't think he knows I was married." I said looking behind me. Well, that was quick. Our food arrived only five minutes after we ordered.
I looked at Ray with a questioning look, "That was quick." I said quietly as he gave me my plate.
"Always fresh" He snickered. He poured my wine and then poured April's.
I gestured for him to lean in close. Making sure April was out of earshot, I whispered, "Stage in five minutes."
Ray nodded, "Enjoy your starters!" He smiled and left int eh direction of the stage to speak with the singer who was taking a short break between songs.
I had to distract April, "So, tell me exactly what you are doing out of school." I interlocked my fingers and rested my chin on them.
She sighed and stabbed her fork into her salad, "I was doing pretty average. I did one and a half years of high school and kind of didn't know where my life was going. I eventually moved out and tried to study art and do classes outside of school and I guess it just wasn't working for me. I dropped out because I didn't want to do average, I want to make my mark and do something to change something for the good." She rubbed the back of her neck, "I guess I aimed too high and got hit by my own bullet."
I felt sympathy for her, "I went through the same thing. But I stayed in school, graduated, and went to New York for art school. Sadly, I didn't have much money, so I had to drive in and out of New York everyday." He half giggled, but still remained serious for April's sake.
"You'll make it through All you have to do is find someone that you can rely on, and will pick you up when you need them most." I just realized what i had just said. She looked at me slyly, I looked at her with a stupid, confused expression.
I rolled my eyes and stood up, "Pardon me for a moment." I said as I saw Ray searching for me over the tables. I walked over to him, making sure April wasn't looking. Thankfully, she was distracted by her phone.

Ray had his hair out of the ponytail with was originally in. "Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, almost ready to get up on stage.
"I have never been more sure about anything in my life, Ray." I said, taking my jacket off, reveling dad's red flannel. I walked up on stage and stood infront of the mic. Ray gave me the thumbs up when he had a guitar strapped across his shoulders and resting on his knee.
"this song goes out to the girl I just lied to. This is actually the most daring thing I've ever done in my life."
