Thick As Thieves [Mikey Way]

Chapter Three

I told the guys about what happened with Alli and they genuinely looked scared of me.

“Did you kill her?” Frank asked timidly.

I chuckled.

“Nearly. Oh, I wanted to.” I said, grinning proudly at what I did.

Oh, wow.
I am a serial killer.

“I think I’m in love with you…” Gerard mumbled loud enough for us to hear, faking admiration.

I chuckled and shook my head.

“You guys are strange.” I said and Frank grinned and toothy grin.

“Thank you for noticing.” He said and I laughed.

I stood up and walked over to the boarded up window, peeking through a crack in the wood.

“It’s nightfall. Get ready to leave on my word.” I said, walking to the other door.

“Uh, it’s locked and the key snapped off in the lock.” Ray told me and I cursed under my breath.

“Let me take a look.” I said, kneeling in front of the lock, and like he said, there was half a lock jammed in the lock.

I sighed pulling a hairclip out of my hair.

“I don’t think that’s gonna—“Shh.” I cut Gerard off and only then noticed that Mikey hadn’t said a word since I started my story.

“Give her a chance.” Mikey said suddenly, like he had read my mind.

Nah.
It was probably just a coincidence.

I slipped the thin part of the clip in the lock and jiggled it around until I heard a soft crack and the metallic clinking of the key piece hitting the ground.

I looked up at the guys, then at Mikey who gave me a small nod.

I tried to turn the knob but found it to be still locked.

I sighed and put the hairclip back in my hair, keeping my bangs off my face.

I then pulled a bobby pin out and set to work on the lock.

“Do you have, like, a fucking toolbox in your hair?” Frank asked, watching me.

I chuckled and ignored him, still working at the lock.

Suddenly, I heard a loud shout from the top level and an even louder BANG then a scream that positively came from Aria.

The guys looked at me all at once.

“We have to go. NOW!” Gerard exclaimed, panicked.

I nodded.

“I know! I just need to get this lock--“Well, get it faster!” Frank cut me off in a panic.

I heard footsteps began to stomp down the hall, trying to find the room that we were in.

I bit my lip, trying to keep it from the guys that I was panicking.

“Drew!—“Shut up, Frank! She’s panicked enough.” Mikey cut him off.

Okay.
That couldn’t have been a coincidence.

I glanced up at him and gasped quietly to myself.

It only then occurred to me how gorgeous he was.

Good job, Brain.
You and four guys are gonna die if you can’t get this door unlocked and THEN you casually realize that Mikey is gorgeous.
Yeah.
Note my sarcasm.

I heard the familiar click of the lock and grinned, shoving the door open with my shoulder and ushering the guys out.
Just as I heard whoever was looking for us bang on the door, screaming that he knew we were in there.

I bit my lip.

“Hide.” I mouthed to them and they nodded.

All but Mikey.

“I’m not letting you take him alone.” He said and I shook my head.

“I’m better on my own.” I told him.

He shook his head.

“Either way, I’m not leaving you.” He argued and I sighed.

He’ll never win and he knows it.

“Mikey, please. Just hide. I’ll be fine.” I said and he sighed, admitting defeat and nodding and following his brother.

I climbed on top of the big bin and onto the small roof above the door, hoping it would hold my weight.

It seemed to be okay so I crouched, waiting for them to come out.

I heard the door creak as whoever it was opened it.

I gasped to myself then clamped a hand over my mouth.

I saw her smirk in the dim light.

“I know you’re here, Drew.” She said, smug and dripping with venom.

“Tully.” I growled and jumped down.

She had her back to me and her head shot up when she heard me.

I landed silently on the ground behind her.

She swiftly turned, hurling a knife at me.
One which I easily dodged and returned, slicing her shoulder on the way through before sailing into the brick wall on the other side of the alley and falling to the ground.

She ran at me and I ran at her, each with a knife in hand.

But here’s my advantage.
I was the one to teach her how to handle a knife.
And I didn’t teach her everything.

She swung one arm around, scratching me across the face.

I hissed at the stinging sensation of it and glared at her.

I stepped back, holding my face for a second.
But she took that split second to pin me to the ground.

She smirked, solely dragging her knife up the soft skin on my throat and neck before making a small knick just under my jaw.

I bit my lip hard not to scream insults at her as she held me to the ground.

She just smirked.

“Never guessed did you. Little defenseless Tully is a Vampyre spy. I’m sure you guessed Alli by now but Tully? Never.” She mocked and I growled at her, making her smirk more.

“Stop with the act. We both know you’re not a real vampire. A blood relation doesn’t mean shit.” She spat and pulled her knife down to my throat.

“Ideally, I like to play with my pray before I kill them, but I’m on strict orders so…” She said as she began to press the knife into my throat, drawing a little bit of blood.

I honestly thought that that was where my story would end.
I’d be killed by one of my best “Friends” and that’s all.

But no.

Suddenly, she let out a screech and arched her back up in pain, clutching her shoulder.

I took the opportunity to push her off and grab her by the throat, snapping her neck and driving the knife into her cold black heart and leaving her to bleed out if she wasn’t already dead.

It was then that I saw what had stopped her.

A knife in her shoulder and Mikey standing with three other identical ones in hand.

I sat up, touching my throat and wincing.

We stayed silent for about a minute while I reassured myself that I was in fact still alive.

Mikey made his way over to me, crouching next to me.

Without a word, he tilted my head back, looking at my throat.

He sighed.

“Mikey, I’d get back if I were you…” Gerard said cautiously.

Mikey just shook his head.

“I feel fine. I don’t even drink human blood. It’s fucking gross…” He muttered, still prodding and poking the still-bleeding cut while I bit my lip to not scream out in pain.

“Stay like that.” He told me in a voice little more than a whisper.

I nodded slightly and kept my head at the angle the held it at as he licked the cut, healing it.

It instantly felt better.

He pulled away and smiled slightly at me.

I smiled faintly and stood up, rubbing my cheek that, thankfully, wasn’t bleeding too.

I sighed and straightened myself out, looking at the guys.

“Let’s keep moving.” I said, acting like nothing had happened and walking in the direction I needed to go in with the guys close in tow.
