Thick As Thieves [Mikey Way]

Chapter Two

I woke up the next morning and sighed.

I guess Miss Francis is eager to get me out of here, huh.

My room, which I slept in 99% of the time, was completely empty.

The weird part was, it wasn’t like that when I went to sleep last night IN MY ROOM.

Like I said, they must really want me gone.

There was a note on the empty dresser next to my bed.

Four Tales of Chemical Romance was all it said in neat printed script.

That’s the phrase isn’t it?

I knew where I had to go.
Me and Andi used to hang out there all the time.

Who were these guys, though?

Miss Francis said that there were four of them and they were being hunted for killing while drinking blood, right?

I guess that’s about right.

Half of the vampires I catch are vampyres.
Meaning they kill when they feed.
And they’ve killed so many people that they’ve lost their senses and are now just mindless killers that need to be ended.

But, according to Miss Francis, these guys aren’t.

I quickly changed and walked out to the training facilities out the back of the main building and next to the dorms.

It kinda looked like the training room from The Hunger Games.
Like, a lot.

I walked over to the throwing knife practice place thingy that I don’t know the sciency as fuck sounding name of and picked up a smaller one, twirling it in my hand.

Throwing knives were my weapon of choice.
I was Like Clove.
I never missed.

“Only you could do that.”

The voice from behind me startled me enough to send the knife in my hand speeding into the wall next to my target.

I recognized the smug tone in her high-pitched and whiny voice.

“Do what, Alli?” I asked, not turning.

“Beat another hunter half to death then become the head of the association. And all she has to do is take four little misunderstood boys to the national embassy without dying.” She said.
I could feel her stupid smirk in her tone.

“If I had my way, I would have finished the job.” I growled, having to actually stop myself from turning and running at her.

She scoffed to herself

“Sure. I bet you couldn’t even—“ Was as far as she got before I turned and grabbed her by the throat.

She smirked down at me as she choked slightly.

“You’re just like one of them. You’re a vampire by heart but a human by species.” She choked out, still wearing her famous smirk.

I snarled at her and threw her down on the ground.

Her expression still didn’t change as she looked up at me, clutching her now-bleeding arm.

“You can deny it. But I know, deep down, you know it’s true.” She said, standing and walking away.

I snarled again as she walked away.

Ugh. I could STRANGLE her.

“I’m looking for Three Tales Of Chemical Romance. Can you help me?” I asked the pale girl serving in the store.
She gave me a slight smirk, showing off a set of bright white fangs. “Follow me.” She said in a voice naturally sweeter than caramel.

I followed her down a dark staircase to a locked room.

“Be careful. One hasn’t fed in a good six months and he’s not coping.” She told me, handing me a small silver key. “Oh, and I’m Aria by the way.” She said and walked back up the stairs.

I took a breath and flipped the key over in my hand before sliding it into the lock and turning it.

The door swung open, revealing four pale men sitting in a room.

One was shorter with raven black hair sweeping over one eye.
Another was taller and had puffy as fuck hair.

The other two looked alike, possibly brothers, but one was taller than the other and had brown hair and glasses perched right on the end of his nose and the other one was a little bit shorter with dark black hair that could Definitely use a wash.

They looked up and stared at me for a second.

I looked each of them in the eye, trying to decide who was the one Aria was talking about.

We stared off for about a minute before I got to the one with glasses and noticed his eyes were blood red.

“I’m from the hunter association. I’m Drew Booker.” I told them, breaking the silence which seemed to have lasted forever.

The shorter one smiled slightly.

“You’re here to get us out of here?” He asked and I nodded.

“Yes. Back to New Jersey.” I told them and he nodded.

“I’m Frank.” He pointed to the one with the fro. “That’s Ray.” He said.

He glanced over at the two other huddled together, the shorter one whispering something to the taller one.

Frank sighed and walked up to me, gesturing for me to lean down as I was a fair bit taller than him.

“That’s Mikey and Gerard. They’re brothers. Mikey hasn’t taken the withdrawal from any kind of blood too well. He’s who we need to keep an eye on. You need to watch…out—You’re a vampire.” He said, smelling my blood from one of the wounds that Alli had opened up yesterday.
It must be bleeding again.

“Blood relative.” I whispered and he nodded.

“Okay. We just need to be careful with Mikey.” He said.

I was about to nod when the one who I guess is Mikey spoke up.

“You don’t need to whisper about me.” He said, eyeing me carefully. “Drew?” he asked.

I nodded.
I couldn’t help but notice that his eyes were now a gorgeous brown and not the blood red that would terrify a human.

He smiled weakly.

“Nice to meet you. This is my brother Gerard.” He said, gesturing to the other guy who gave me a slight, untrusting wave.

I nodded again.

“Okay. Is there like a back entrance or something?” I asked and Ray nodded.

“Yeah. We’ll show you.” He said, picking a bag up as the other three did the same.

“Wait. We need the cover of darkness to get out of here safely. I’ve got someone out for my fucking blood and if she sees us, it’ll be my ass.” I said and Frank gave me a WTF look.

“What the hell did you do?” Gerard asked, speaking to me for the first time.

I chuckled slightly and sat on a crate.

“Well…”
