Just another Killjoy

Once all the guns and few supplies were out of the van and into the diner, I parked the van behind a couple of bushes and put my motorbike inside while the group parked in a garage. I went into the diner and waited patiently in one of the booths. My mask and lipstick were still on. I remembered that I still had a couple of boxes of cigarettes in my bike. Great, now I have an urge. I quickly walked over to my motorbike that was near the door and grabbed one. I lit it up and took a drag. I heard noises and quickly lit it out. "I'll finish you later" I whispered and put it in my jacket. I sat back into the middle of the booth and saw them walk into the room.

"I smell smoke" The dark haired one looked around. Shit. I know that most people hate smoking, I got thrown out of a group once for smoking, never again.

They all looked at me. "You don't have any cigarettes do you?" The same dark haired one said. Screw it. "Yeah, I have a couple of packs. Sorry" I rubbed my neck. "Holy shit. No way!" the same dark haired one grinned. "Yeah, here I'll give you a pack?" I went to my motorbike and threw one of the packs at him.

"Fuck! I think I'm in love with you!" He screamed in joy and ran over to me. He embraced me in a hug and spun me around. I passed him a lighter that I kept as a spare when he let me go.

"Thank you" He pocketed them and I smiled. "No problem, honey" I said while going back to the booth. "I'll start the introductions then, my name is Midnight blood" I spoke to them and smirked. I loved my name.

"Fun ghoul" The dark haired one said. "Jet star" Said the curly haired one. "Kobra kid" The tall one leaned against the kitchen counter. "Party poison" The red head finally said.

"Cute" They all looked at me when I said that. With a smirk on my face I continued "You guys are truly a bunch of trouble makers aren't you?"

"Well, we weren't really prepared for a group of Drac's to come out at us like that" Jet sighed and spoke for the group. "You're lucky I waited for the owner of that car, or you would have been ghosted like the bunch of cuties you are" they all stared at me with wide eyes.

I took my mask off and put it in front of me. "My real name is Madeline. I'm the one that Korse is looking for. I cause a raucous in that god forbidden town everyday for fun. Korse has been looking for me ever since I became a killjoy. I know the ins and outs of the ugly city and can get supplies at the snap of a finger. Tomorrow I have a plan, if you're all up for it" I looked at Party and he looked at the group.

"Believe me, It's a fan-fucking-tastic idea. I just didn't have the amount of people that I do now" I added. "Alright, we'll discuss this plan in the morning, Right now you look like you need a shower and a good sleep" Party said. Replying with a nod, Kobra showed me the bathroom and the room I would be sleeping in.

I threw my backpack on the ground and looked around the room. This room was a lot better then the old shack at zone 8. There were two posters on the wall, one was of nirvana and the other was of Blink-182. A small smile fell onto my face and I picked up the surprisingly fluffy towel that was placed on the bed. When I opened the door I saw Party walk into the room next to mine. That must be his bedroom. Ghoul came out of the one across from mine and smiled at me. Jet and Kobra must have the rooms near the bathroom. I entered the bathroom and closed the door quietly behind me.

I undressed and turned the shower on, the warm water felt amazing on my aching muscles. The song that was playing on the radio this morning was still playing in my head. I sung it quietly to myself while I rubbed my hair with the shampoo that I found in the shower.

"Move your body when the sunlight dies, Everybody hide your body from the scarecrow, Everybody hide."

Turning the water off and drying myself off with the towel I continued to sing the lyrics.

"Make a wish when your childhood dies. Hear the knock, knock, knock when she cries. We're all alone tonight. Hold your breath when a black bird flies. Count to seventeen and close your eyes. I'll keep you safe inside."

I got changed into just my shirt and underwear and walked down the hallway still singing.

"He burns my skin. Never mind about the shape I'm in. I'll keep you safe tonight yeah, yeah. Move your body when the sunlight dies. Everybody hide your body from the scarecrow, Everybody hide. Move your body when the sunlight dies. Everybody hide your body from the scarecrow, Everybody hide."

I was in my room and I threw my clothes from today on the ground near my bag and hanged the towel up on the door. I sung the little bit that I knew and got into bed.

"Blow a kiss at the methane skies, See the walls through your playground eyes, We're all in love tonight, Leave a dream where the fallout lies, Watch it grow where the tear stain dries, To keep you safe tonight"

I stopped singing and sighed. Music was awesome, I have an iPod and I was hoping that with the plan I had, I'd be able to get one of those solar charging things they have now. Once I closed my eyes I heard someone cough.

I opened one eye and saw Jet at my door. "Yes?" I asked. "I just wanted to say that you have a nice singing voice" and with that he turned around and walked away, leaving my door wide open. Why? Why was it important to tell me that and not close my door? Being myself and lazy, I didn't bother closing the door. I turned to my side and drifted off to sleep.
