Another Cog in the Murder Machine

I'm begging you to spare me the pleasure of your company

I sit outside where nobody will see me for lunch. I pull out a cigarette and light it, taking a small drag. I don't smoke very often, only on days when nothing else can calm my nerves.
I suddenly feel a hand on my shoulder and spin around, only to face Frank.

"Oh, hi Frank," I relax slightly.

"Hey," he says sitting next to me.

"How's your day been?" I ask, followed by another drag.

"Okay, I guess," he shrugs, "how about yours?" He turns head towards me.

"Not as bad as usual so far,"

"How bad is it usually?" He asks while studying my face.

"Pretty bad," I chuckle softly, slightly turning my head enough to look at him.
We just look at each other for a minute, taking in every little detail on one another's face. I notice the two piercings he has on his lip and his nose.

"I like your piercings," I compliment.

"I like yours too," he referse to my single nose ring.
I utter a small thanks and look away, stubbing out my cigarette.

"So you smoke?" He asks.

"Occasionally."

He nods and looks away awkwardly, leaving us in silence for the rest of lunch.
Bob and Gerard have been giving me death glares all day, no way I'm going back in there.

"See ya, Frank," I say grabbing my stuff and starting to leave the school grounds.

"Wait, where are you going?" He asks walking after me.

"Anywhere but here," I say motioning towards the building with my head before turning around again.

"Do you want me to come with you?"

"No thanks, Frank."

"Why not? You can't just walk around by yourself!" He argues running after me.

"I'm just going to the store or something..." I trail off, waving him away while walking.

He doesn't say anything but I know he's still following me. I turn around and bump right into him, not expecting him to be so close. As soon as I touch him it's like all the breath has been knocked out of me.

"Hey, if you're ditching, I'm ditching," he states, his voice saying he's not arguing anymore.

"Fine," I mumble, turning around.

We sit down in the park for a while, making small conversations before plunging into awkward silences. I check the time and see school has been over for two hours.

"I'm going home," I say suddenly and get up quickly. He stands up and grabs my wrist before I can leave.

"I haven't forgotten what I saw yesterday," he says quietly, looking me straight in the eyes.
"What happened?"

I look away in hopes he'll drop it.
"Forget about that, Frank,"

"What? Brayden, how could I forget something like that?"

I shrug and pull my wrist out of his hand and walk away towards my house.
He still follows me.

"Please go away Frank," I plead, trying to be nice, but it's not easy when he still won't listen.

"I said go away please, Frank!" I say louder turning around. He falls backwards the same way Bob did. He stares at me for a minute before I run home, slamming the door behind me. I run up to my room and into the bathroom attached to it. I grab out my razor I hid under the rug in front of the shower and slide it across my wrist, letting it bleed into the sink. I close my eyes, waiting for the worst of the bleeding to stop before cleaning it and bandaging it.

I turn off the light and crawl into bed, relishing in the warmth and comfort only my bed could provide, before drifting off to sleep.

Notes

Sorry it's kind of short and boring :/
