I am afraid to keep on living

(Mikey's pov)

I was playing minecraft on my computer when someone knocked at the door. It would probably be my brother telling me some shit to improve in school. “Gerard, I’m busy. Go away.” I said. “It’s Cassie.” I heard her from the other side of the door. That’s weird, she usually doesn’t come to my room. I paused the game and said “come in!”

She came into my room. Her eyes were red, I guess she has been crying. “Cassie, what’s wrong?” I asked her worried. She closed the door, ran to where I was and hugged crying. I saw that on her hand she had the note I put where she had her razor. The day I find that she harmed herself I decided to search her razor and when I find it, I put there a note saying to not harm herself and that she could talk to me whenever she want, that I would help her.

“I see you find the note… tell me, what’s wrong? Why did you want to harm yourself?” She sat on my bed and wiped the tears from her face. “It’s Gerard…” She said almost in a whisper. “My brother?” I asked confused. Did Gerard do something bad to Cassie? And if he did, what and why? They both were acting weird yesterday, maybe it’s because of that.

“Is it why you both were acting weird yesterday?” She nodded. “But mostly because of today.” She said. “Would you mind tell me the whole story? If not, I can’t see the way to help you.” I sat next to her and she told me the story. “Well, yesterday I was very depressed and Gerard was with me, I told him that nobody loves me and instead of saying something he… he…” She seemed like she couldn’t end the sentence. “He what?”

She stayed in silence for a couple of seconds and then she looked at me. “Gerard kissed me.” OMFG. My brother kiss a friend of mine! My teacher kissed one of my classmates! Gerard kissed Cassie! I knew that he likes her! “And the bad thing is that you don’t like him, do you?” “No... I do like him.” But if they like each other, what is wrong? “If you like him too, why are you sad? I don’t see any problem.” I said. “The bad thing happened today, like ten minutes ago.” She said looking to the floor. “What happened today?” “When he said me to go out of class I kissed him and then here, like ten minutes ago, we both kissed.” Okay, it was weird listening to a friend saying that she and my brother kissed. “Wow, many kisses, but still can’t see the bad part.”

A tear fell down her cheek. “When we finished kissing he suddenly said that…” She couldn’t finish what she was saying because she started crying again. It breaks my heart seeing her crying like that. I stroke her back trying to calm her. “Shh, it’s okay, don’t cry, just tell me what happen, I would help you, I promise.” She looked at me with tears on her eyes. “He said that we… we couldn’t be because… he’s my teacher and I’m not even eighteen years old.”

That’s was weird on my brother. He usually does everything that he could to be with the one he loves. Well, this hasn't happened before, but I didn’t think that something like that would stop my brother.

“Well, what he says is true, but I would try to speak to him.” I said to her. “And what are going to say him? There’s nothing to say if he is right.” She said. “I’m going to tell him, that you can go out in secret until you are eighteen.” “But he will still be my teacher.” “I don’t think that would stop him.” She smiled and hugged me again. “Thank you, Mikey.” She whispered. I smiled back. “Don’t thank me and remember that if you need help with something again, I would always be here for you.”
