Fuck My Life
Am I dead? I can’t open my eyes, or move any party of my body. I can hear something though, I think it’s a person, maybe muffled talking. I feel really weak. All I wanna do is sleep. I don’t care anymore; I shot Korse, now I just wanna sleep. How long have I been like this? It’s hard to tell time.
It may have been hours or days. But the longer I do nothing, I get more tired. The muffled noises are also getting louder, but out of everything, pain is running throughout my body. Sharp pain that feel like every inch of my body has been stabbed, other part, like my head, feel the stabbing pain plus a headache that feels like my head will explode. Why can’t it just end? Why can’t I just die? It would make everything so much easier.
Soon my pain made me wanna scream from the top of my lungs but I couldn’t move, I was a lifeless body. But I was starting to get a few other of my senses back; I felt my body vibrate, sort of like a humming a car would make. I felt myself laying down, except parts of my body were being propped up. Like my feet and my upper body.
There were also arms around me, holding me tight. It hurt. Something was being repeatedly pressed against my head. It was soft. It didn’t hurt as much as me being held, but it still hurt. The muffled noises now were coming clear.
“Party, we’ll be there soon, you can’t be in the room.” I think it was Ghoul.
“And why the hell not?!” I think Party countered.
“No relatives.”
“Were not related.”
“But you’re the father.”
“Ghoul,” He said in a lighter voice, “Please, we found her in a pool of blood, let me be with my wife.”
“I’m sorry, no.” Ghoul said just as softly. Then the pain became overwhelming and I lost consciousness.
A few hours, I think, later I no longer felt any pain. I was so happy I felt a smile crepp up on my lips. Wait. What? I felt a smile. I tried opening my eyes an dit worked, I was in a really white room. I turned my head to see every chair in my room occupied, even with people sitting on the floor. Everyone was asleep.
Jet was on the floor and next to him was Hanna in a chair. Dr.D had a light grip on Kid in his chair, Bree also took the last chair with Ghoul and Reggie asleep on the floor. I turned the other way to see Party laying on the bed also asleep. His brown roots were starting to grow in. I didn’t give a shit. I raised my arm and rested it on his head.
His eyes shot open and looked at me. Tears were spilling over his eyes as he cupped my face with his hands, I gave him a weak smile. He kissed my head and his lips were shaking.
“I thought I warned you never to scare me like that again.”
“My bad.” He laughed, waking up everyone else. My bed was crowded with people in seconds.
“How are you?”
“Are you okay?”
“That was crazy.”
“You scared the shit out of us.”
“Hey, hey, hey,” Ghoul said making everyone shutup, “She just woke up, give her some time. If everyone but Party will leave, I need to check up on her.” Everyone left.
“Alright, let’s get started.” Ghoul said inspecting my body. Party stayed next to me holding my hand while Ghoul did his thing. I smiled back then I remembered the baby. My eyes widened in horror at the thought of it being killed.
“What happened?” I asked, in horror.
“Well you killed Korse and-” Party started.
“I don’t give two shits about Korse, what about the baby?” I interrupted.
“Look, Tabitha, I know you want an abortion but-”
“I don’t want an abortion, I wanna keep it.” Party’s smile grew on his face, and he pulled me into a hug.
“Thank you so much.” I wasn’t happy though, was there even a baby to be happy about.
“Is it even alive?”
“We haven’t checked, did something happen to compromise the pregnancy?” Ghoul asked.
“He punched my twice in the stomach.” As soon as I said that, Ghoul had my leg’s up was looking in my private areas.
I was getting worried, I could tell Party was to because he squeezed my hand and his leg was shaking. About 15-20 minutes later Ghoul closed my legs and looked at the two of us.
“Everything’s good.” He smiled at us.
For the next 4 months, Party and the rest of my killjoys stayed in Safe Haven, I was informed that I had shot and killed Korse. Soon after, almost every killjoy had gone in and taken down a big part of Battery City. It wasn’t easy though, Battery City had become a battle field and it was killjoys vs. the rest of the Drac army. We had gotten a lot of new killjoys but they weren’t trained like the rest of us, but they were helpful. I wanted to jump into the battle field, but being 6 months along, there wasn’t much I could do.
I informed Party that Dark was a traitor and he didn’t hesitate to kill him, I didn’t really mind. Hanna followed Reggie in being a nurse and her and I became quick friends. Party told me that Kid had been calling me his mom, and instead of being mad like he thought I would be, I was happy.
Dr.D was running low on skilled Killjoys so he had no choice but to send my boy’s in, Party tried to stay behind with me but I told him to go. He hated it but he went. He promised he would be back in 2 ½ months for the baby’s birth.
We had a few arguments about life after baby was born, he wanted me to move back to Haven to take care of it, but I wanted to go back out as soon as I could and leave the baby in someone else care until we came back. We came to a compromise of us both staying here for its 1st 4 months, then go back out and come back every month or so for a week. We both didn’t like it, but we were gonna have to deal with it.
The night they had to leave, everyone told me bye. Party kissed me and then my growing bump and ran his hand over my growing belly. I gave him a sad smile and he returned it and gave me one last kiss and left. I was able to walk around but the baby was making everything harder.
2 ½ months had gone by slowly, but Party and everyone else were coming back tomorrow, and in 3 weeks, I would have a baby.
But of course, nothing for me ever went easy. I went into labor 3 weeks early and Party was over 8 hours away from me. Fuck my life.
