Redheads Are Hott
I woke up to someone violently shaking my arm.
"Blue, will you wake the fuck up." Dr.D said as he kept shaking me.
"No," I muttered, "Its only been like 20 min, there's no way we are there yet." I said as I turned over and tried to fall back into sleep.
"Actually, you've been asleep for 4 hours, were making a pit stop."
I groaned and pulled the car seat up and took a look around, the car was parked in front of some old building that looked liked no one has been in there for ages. It was still fucking bright outside so I pulled on the sunglasses Dr.D had given me and stared at this mystery building. Dr.D got out of the car so I followed him, close behind, I noticed he kept his hand near his gun as we walked. I guess it was an involuntary movement from being attacked so much, is it weird that I want that?
"Whatcha looking at?" Dr.D said breaking me away from my thought and we walked closer to the entrance.
"Your hand, it's on your gun. Are we gonna get attacked or something?" I asked.
"You never know." He laughed as he opened the door and walked in.
"What do you mean?"
"We could be attacked my Drac's at any moment so i just wanna be prepared. Now come on, his is the fun part." He said throwing his arm around me and guiding me to a dirty looking seat that had color splats of all sorts of color on it.
He sat me in the chair in front of the sink and walked a few feet away to a table full of little box's that I couldn't see. When he came back, he set all of the box's on my lap, they were hair dye. No. Fucking. Way. I am not gonna dye my hair that will ruin it.
Yes I am one of those people that love there natural hair color, escepily since my hair is blond and naturally straight and so fucking pretty, plus the fact that I have sea green eyes makes me love my look's even more.
"I am not dying my hair."
"Yes you are."
"And why would that be?"
"Your so plain, and I know that you know the Fabulous Killjoys are anything but plain. So if you wanna fit in with them and really be a part of there team for the next 2 years you WILL dye your hair."
"Fine." I grumbled, as I began picking up the box's and looking at all of colors he had. There were neon pink, firetruck red, purple, dark blue, green, black and other weird ones. I chose the red one because thought it would make my eyes look really good. I handed him the box and pulled my hair back.
"Really?" He asked eying the red, "I was kinda hoping you would go for the blue, ya know, since your name is Blue Moon."
"No I like the red, and the more I look at it the more I like it."
"You sure?" He said pushing my hair over the sink and opening the bottle. "Cause once this is on there's no going back."
"I know, I'm gonna like it, plus redheads are hott."
After about 40 minutes the dye was in my hair and I looked really good, and hot if I may say so myself. Dr.D gave me a blue bandana and told me to wrap it around my face and put the glasses on and take a look in the mirror.
Holy shit! Is this really the girl that less then 12 hours ago was sitting in her room just waiting to get out of Safe Haven. I thought to myself. My blond hair was now firetruck red, my pericing green eyes were no longer visible, neither was much of my face. I looked kinda mysterious and I liked it. Tabitha was no more, she was a person in my past, someone who I will never be again, from no on I am Blue Moon, Killjoy, well Killjoy in training.
"Like what you see." Dr.D asked.
"Hell yeah."
"I gotta admit, you were right about the red, its a lot better than the blue." He said picking up some of my hair and looking at it. "Okay lets go!" He said rushing back out to the car.
The next 6 hours were just driving with some talk in the mist of it, I mostly slept well because I can. I was nervous about meeting the Killjoy's I had heard so much about them and they had heard so little of me. Would they like me? Would they accept me? Would they be complete and utter asswholes? What were the next 2 years living with boys gonna be like? I was sunset when Dr.D stopped the car in the road in the middle of no where. Call me crazy but I think this is where I get off. He put the car in park and looked at me, even though his face was covered I could tell he was a bit sad.
"Okay kid, this is your stop. Follow this road straight for about 2 hours and the diner should be on your right, when you get there, knock on the door once, wait a second, then knock twice, wait another second, then knock three time. That's how they know its you."
"Then tell them the password?"
"Yup, now if you see any Drac's or Drac van's wait until they leave there van, and yes there stupid enough to do that, and shoot them down. I heard that you never miss a target so that should be easy for you, now I'm not saying you run into any, but you might."
"Okay, I think I got everything."
"Good luck motor baby." He said pulling my into a hug. "
I then grabbed my things and got out of the car, I started to walk when Dr.D called out one last thing,
"Remember what you said about redheads being hot." Then he winked at me and drove off.
I had no idea what he ment by that, so I just kept walking, about to enter my new life as a Killjoy, well one in training.
