Oh I totally agree about Gee I was just wondering.
Whenever you feel is a good time. But I'll give you a little advice I've learned in my 23 years: if you're looking for the perfect time, chances are it's never going to happen and you're probably going to do it at the most inoppurtune time. So just let it happen as it happens. Don't plan. All I do is plan and it fails. Lol.

I think you should be honest about your gender, at least to your mom. I know it's really scary to, but if you're anything like me it'll just sort of happen unbidden. I had planned to sit down my family all together and tell them but I ended up blurting it out to them one by one, especially since one of my mom's friends just randomly came up to her and was like "So I dunno if Ash is gay or pan or what, but whatever it is she doesn't care about gender." So my mom ended up just blurting that out to me one day and I was just like "...Wow. Okay. So yeah, I actually needed to talk about that."
Everyone actually ended up already having an inkling already, so maybe it'll be the same for you and not a big deal.

All I did was explain things in a logical way I guess. My dad still doesn't really understnad because he's way more logical than me and I just can't talk on his level, but he I think he stopped trying to understand me years ago. Lol.
That's awesome how your mom responded. I know, right? We drive non-fans, especially parents/siblings/strangers haywire.

omg that's awesome!! unload as much as u want pal. And it was good, she was just like k cool n said the worst part of it would be that fact that I never shut up about guys in bands and if she had to listen to me not shutting up about girls in bands aswell, so double, she wouldn't know how she'd cope. and then she just like carried on w her life and I haven't mentioned it since. I'm so not ready to tell anyone else yet tho, she's agreed not to, and I have no fucking clue how I'd even touch on the topic of gender so being completely out with everything is prolly years away

Holy..... So the response has been so positive! The best friend I thought I alienated is still talking to me and told me "if you mean a lot to someone, they're going to still want you in their lives" and my best friend that's like a big brother actually respoded really positively when I really expected him to be the most negative one and super judgey. WOW.... I guess I'm really lucky. As my gender-fluid friend said, "Magic." XD

Thanks. My ex and I are sorta okay. Still best friends, but it's strained on my end just cause I don't know how to deal with it and super-exuberant on his end because he never wanted to hurt me.
I just told my best friend that's been like a big brother figure most of my life and he hasn't answered yet. I wanted to do it in person or over the phone but he's like across the country right now so I couldn't. :( Hope everything's okay, though.
