He forgave her that easily, because he was more happy that she finally made friends, more than he was upset that she ditched him. Of course he was upset, but the fact that she made friends made up for it, because that's what he wanted from her since the beginning when they first met. Plus she apologized, and came back for him, so that also made up for it.
