I have a theory on the break up-, page 2
Correction. I have talked to Frank, via a friend, and he's talked to me about it. Frank and Gerard DID fall in love, and were having an affair - which is why they sued Kerrang! for talking about it. Gerard DID marry Lindsey after the show of Frank tackling Gerard on stage, and Frank was found by Ray, Bob and some of the crew after Gerard and Lindsey's marriage. He didn't attend the wedding. Also, when Gerard and Lindsey met, Gerard was dating Eliza Cuts, who was their makeup and hair stylist. Frank never knew why Gerard was slipping back into booze, but he sensed it had something to do with what all was going on. Also, there's a few things I've heard speculating Gerard and Lindsey's marriage. Mindless Self Indulgence was never very big until after Gerard and Lindsey got together. Some people believe that Gerard and Lindsey were going through a rough spot in their relationship, and were gonna break up, but Lindsey pleaded with Gerard to not leave her, and because he really loved her, he didn't. There's also a few extra things about their marriage, most of it being that she married Gerard to really get her band noticed. Also, Frank and Gerard have talked minimal times since the band's split because of everything that happened. And, the band did not break up because of Mikey. It was completely Gerard's doing. Mikey had poured his heart and soul into the band, only to have it ripped out from under him without even talking about it. That's when he became addicted to drugs. Gerard also did not have the guts to tell Frank that he broke the band up. Instead, he seen the post and called Ray and asked about it. Also, Gerard always said that the "triggerman was unimportant", which he was talking about the band. He did say he was slipping back into booze, but that wasn't why the band broke up. And no one knows what the "triggerman" was. Many believe it was Lindsey. There's also evidence supporting that. Either way, Frank said he didn't know for sure why the band broke up, and he doesn't believe that anyone will ever find out. He also believes that this "triggerman" is what's going to keep the band from getting back together.

Total props to you for this post. It stated much of what I've been thinking when observing both this fandom and others. People will often completely dismiss the numerous amounts of factual evidence contrary to their belief yet accept the belief of rumors because they coincide with their preconceived notion of the truth. Also I quite agree it is disrespectful to essentially view Gerard and Frank's marriages as "fake" and insinuate that they are using these women shamelessly for a cover up when (as you and @meow_poison have stated) there is really not logical reason for them to hide it. These people will use a youtube video of some stage kissing and a harmless disagreement to back up their claims whilst dismissing THE FACT THAT THEY ARE HAPPILY MARRIED TO OTHER PEOPLE and have kids with them! This is the very reason emotion has no place in true analytical arguementation in search of the truth.
