To The End

I decided to wait on asking my siblings about the park until they had been home for a while. They were both tired from trying to adjust to a new place, especially Alex. After I worked on homework for about an hour I decided to look for Jade and ask her about this evening first. She wasn’t too hard to find, because she was talking loudly on the phone in the other room.
When I entered, she informed whoever was on the phone that she had to go and asked me what was up. “On the way out of my algebra class, Gerard asked me if we wanted to go meet him, his brother, and Frank at the park a few blocks down,” She was surprised to hear that I had plans with someone. “He did? Ooh! Ami!” “C’mon Jade, don’t do that.” But she was giggling too much to listen. “Okay, are you going or not?” “Of course! That sounds like so much fun! But what happened to ‘not making any friends’?” I shrugged. “I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. You’re right, I shouldn’t get attached, but these guys seem so nice.” She looked at me with a sympathetic expression which was fairly uncommon for her. “Just be careful. We don’t know how long we’re going to stay here.” “Don’t worry, I’ll be alright. I’m gonna go get Alex and then we’ll go,” She nodded and then I left the room. I informed Alex about the invite and he agreed to go with Jade and me, so it wasn’t long before we were out of the house.
We arrived at the park only to see that Gerard and his brother (who actually turned out to be Mikey from the lunch table) were already there waiting for us and Frank. “Hey, Gerard, Mikey!” I shouted to them. Upon hearing me call, they both turned towards our group and headed over to greet us. “Hi, guys!” Mikey said sweetly, “I’m glad you could all make it.” Jade began to blush and replied, “I am too,” I gently elbowed her and said under my breath, “Now who’s going nuts over a cute guy?” She gave me a look that said, “Don’t start this now,” So I smirked once more and that was that.
After chatting for a few moments and introducing the brothers to Alex, Frank came around the corner. “Hey, guys! Who’s this?” He said tilting his head to Alex. “This is our brother, Alex,” Jade answered. Just then, Alex cut in impatiently, “So what did you guys have planned to do here?” I was taken aback by his sudden attitude and shot him a confused glance. He realized that his tone came off a bit harsh, so he said softly, “I mean, what do you wanna do?” Gerard laughed awkwardly and responded, “We were wondering if you would like it if we gave you guys a ‘tour of the area’ so to say since you just moved here,” Frank and Mikey nodded in agreement. “Oh, okay. We would love that,” I said smiling. I couldn’t help but smile around Gerard. I adored his shy and kind manner.
We hadn’t been walking for too long when Jade tapped my arm. I looked over at her and was shocked, as she looked pale and was shaking. “Jade, what’s wrong?” I asked my heart practically in my throat. “I don’t know. Can we please go home?” By this time the others had noticed something was wrong. “Of course we can,” Alex assured her. She was shaking so badly that she could barely stand, so Alex and I propped her up. “Do you need us to help you get her home?” Mikey inquired thoughtfully. Alex answered, “I think we got her, thanks though,” The guys nodded and we turned to take her home.
