Vampires Will Never Hurt You (Frerard)

chapter 19 korse is mr. clean

GERARDS POV

We've only been living in this house for a couple hours and I already feel like I've moved up a class. The food is better - we didn't even have food! There are two refrigerators - who buys two refrigerators? One has the normal food, the other one has a couple bags of blood - probably stolen from blood drives. He does tell us to only drink from the bags when you have to, though.

We haven't met the other chick who lives here, though. When I asked Jet about it, he told me that she's a bit of a recluse. She might come out a bit later today, though. I hope she does, Mikey might take a liking to her, if you know what I mean. This is the first time that I've had cereal for about five years, let alone had breakfast!

"What should we do today?" Frank asks. Now that I come to think of it, I don't think there's anything to do. No clothes to get, blood to steal, visits to make. I'm completely out of things to do, and it is worry-some. "I honestly have no idea. We could go joyriding, or maybe we could meet that other girl. I don't think Ray mentioned her name." Frank nods, and I walk over to where he is leaning on the kitchen counter. We haven't seen Haunting or Red since we got here, I'm starting to wonder where they are.

"Should I grow out my hair? It's only been a few weeks since I dyed it but it's getting longer, and the white tips are looking ridiculous." I nod, whatever makes him happy. "I bought some hair dye when we went there, I think I took it when we were grabbing your makeup." He nods, and we start walking up to our room, which I discovered this morning has a connected bathroom.

"Have you ever dyed someone's hair before?" He asks, and I smile. "How do you think I keep my luscious locks this firetruck red?" I joke, dramatically flipping my hair. "Alright, sassy cakes!" He laughs, rushing to the bed and searching my bag. "Comb... Eyeliner... Lube... Dye!" He smiles, pulling out the dye kit. He runs to the bathroom and wraps a towel around his shoulders, while I haul a chair into the room.

I hand him a comb, "Make sure there are absolutely no tangles. There is probably some Vaseline somewhere in here." I search the sink drawers, and pull out a small can of Vaseline. Once Frank finishes combing his hair and I look it over, I coat his ears and his hairline with the stuff. "Just in case we get any dye on your skin. This'll help it wash off." I learned that the hard way.

I slip on my gloves and pull the bowl out from the kit, and mix the dye together, shaking up the solution. I've used this hair-dye before, as whenever I dyed my hair in the past, I got it from the Parlor. I can't help but reminisce at when Brendon dyed my hair for the first time

My hands find their way to the dye, and I get a bit on the tip of my fingers. His hair is a bit thin, like mine, so I'll just use his part as the sections. I start combing it through, and continue working until I finish with his whole head. We make some small talk in between, mainly about the new house.

"Alright, now we should wait..." I glance at the box, "25 minutes or more, and then you'll shower." He nods, smiling. He decides to pick out a book that was lying on the living room counter, and read it until the time I set goes off. I think I'm gonna go exploring.

I walk downstairs and see someone I don't know at the table. She has long, wavy hair, so I'm guessing she's the girl that Ray told me about. The Latina walks over to the refrigerator and takes out a bag of blood, and almost drops it when she sees me watching her.

(A/N-in the comics they don't give her or her kid a name, so i'll just make one up).

"Hi, sorry if I scared you," I smile, walking over and taking a bag of chips out of the cabinet. "I'm Gerard, and you are?" She swallows, before clearing her throat. "Jane, but I'm known as Danger Heart." She tells me, and makes to get out of the room. "Wait!" I start to yell, but she's already gone.

"Dammit," I mumble, then decide to go up to Mikey's room. I wonder how he's adjusting. I decide to take the chips up to his room just in case he's hungry. Halfway up the stairs I hear a door slam shut, and I look over to a door a few rooms away from mine. Must be Jane's. I knock on Mikey's door and hear a feeble, 'come in,'.

I walk in and see him talking to Jet about something - is it music? Yeah, he's asking if there's any way that Jet could get Mikey a bass. "I'll try, Kid." He tells him, and takes the paper that Mikey holds out to him. "An amp, tuner, and a wire, too?" Mikey nods at that, and Ray walks out of the room, leaving just me and him.

"Oh yeah, I remember you started learning bass a couple months before you.. uh... yeah." Mikey nods his head, and turns to face me in his chair. "How are you adjusting? I just met that other girl, Jane, and Ray was right when he said that she was a recluse. It would be nice to get to know her, though." He picks up a pencil from his desk and starts twirling it in his fingers.

"Yeah, I think this place is nice." He starts, resting his right ankle on his left knee and leaning forwards. "I've been moving homes quite a lot for the past week, but I hope I stay here for a while." I nod, and look behind him, at what he has pinned on his desk-board. I see drawings of...

"Unicorns. Of course," I smile, remember how he was obsessed with unicorns until he turned thirteen. He still loves them, he just doesn't make it as known. "Yeah, I was bored yesterday." He smiles, and I stand up. "I was just checking in - ugh. I feel like dad. Bye, Mikes." I walk out, and back into my room, which has the sound of running water coming from it. I sit down on the bed and take a glance at what book Frank was reading - The Book Thief. I've heard that it's a good read, though I've never read it.

The water turns off, and I hear Frank step out of the shower. A few minutes later, he comes out of the bathroom with newly dyed hair, raven black. I smile, and go to pick him up. "Gerard! Stop!" He laughs as I spin around, singing "I love you," into his neck. A few spins too soon, I set him down and start kissing all over his face. I don't know what spurred on this sudden need for kisses, but I'm not going to stop it.

"You're so beautiful," I tell him, pulling him into a hug. "Really? I don't think so!" He tells me, and my heart practically breaks. "Then I'll keep on saying it until you see it." I smile at him, and set him down on the bed. "How 'bout we go on a ride around the city? We could take Mikey or Ray." He nods, smiling. "I'd like that."

We make our way to the garage, asking Mikey to come along with us. He tell us that he'll be out in a minute, and we figure that Ray will be in the garage. Our suspicion is proven when we catch sight of him, cleaning off a black limo.

"Hi, Gerard." He yells across the room, "I like your car design, could I test her out?" He stands up and walks over to the trans am. "That's actually what we were gonna ask you," Frankie says, sitting on the hood. "Wanna go joyriding with us?" He nods, smiling. "Mikey's gonna be out soon - there he is." I say when Mikey walks in, and his jaw drops when he sees the trans am. "You did that?" He practically shouts, walking over and delicately brushing his fingers on the edges.

I hop in the drivers seat, grabbing the keys that were on the seat. I stick them into the ignition, and I see a button near the top that says convert. I press it, and the roof folds back. Holy shit, this thing is a convertible! "Go get some jackets on, gang. It can't be that warm out there."

Five minutes later, Frankie is dressed in his yellow shirt and green vest. Mikey has a yellow and black shirt with a red biker jacket. Then Ray has that black jacket with the American Flag on the back. And I'm in my electric blue zip-up; I've really taken a liking to it!

I pull out of the garage and put in an old tape that was lying on the dash, titled Danger Days, though it doesn't say who it's by. The first track that comes on is just some old guy speaking, who says he's Doctor Death-Defying. That transitions into a song that I'm guessing is called Na Na Na, given the intro. Later on in this book, you'll find me and the rest of the crew singing along to these songs, not missing a single word. But not yet.

We're out for just short of an hour, we were going to be out for longer, but we began to run out of gas and the VCD started tracing us. We drive back, laughing over the track Vampire Money. When we pull into the garage, and fall onto our bed, I can't help but think that this has been the most fun for weeks.
