Gerard’s POV

“You sure he isn’t dead? As he’s currently on his third day of being passed out.” Patrick said as we was both stood at the end of the bed watching the kid sleep.
“He’s still alive, his heart is still beating can hear it all the way through the house.” I said and Patrick looked at me.
“He baffles you doesn’t he?” Patrick asked.
“Yeah he does. He seems different from all the other strays which have been brought in.” I said and Patrick frowned.
“Don’t mention his name Pat, I can’t be dealing with his name being said right now.” I said knowing that Patrick was thinking about Jack.
“But he was a vampire, this kid is a human. How do you think he’s going to cope he’s in a house full of vampires. Not very well Gee.” Patrick said and I looked at him.
“He’ll be fine when he learns to trust us and we’re not looking at him like he’s our next meal.” I said.
“But he was our next meal.” Patrick said.
“Yeah well now he isn’t, anyway he wouldn’t of tasted good as he is full of drugs.” I said and Patrick nodded.
“So he would of had to of gone on a detox before we did anything with him.” Patrick said and he looked at me slowly inching towards the kid so I nodded and when Patrick got to the bed he poked the kid.
“What you doing?” I asked seriously.
“Never seen a human that we was keeping as a pet before. Interested that’s all.” Patrick said and lifted the kids lip up and looked at his teeth.
“He’s not a pet.” I said and Patrick chuckled.
“Yeah he is because you’ll be attached to him soon and you won’t let him go.” Patrick said and stood up back up again.
“I’ve learnt my lesson on getting attached to things.” I said and Patrick smiled at me.
“You’ll find someone else, someone better than Jack.” Patrick said.
“Oh Christ please don’t say it’s you because I can’t cope with you being my mate as well as the second in command.” I said and Patrick chuckled.
“It’s not me as I have Eden. But I can’t see why you didn’t ask Mikes to be the second in command.” Patrick said.
“Mikes didn’t have the experience at the time, I needed someone with experience and since you are the second eldest here you fitted what I needed. You make me wonder why I chose you but you do a good job.” I said and Patrick smiled and someone knocked on the door which I opened using telekinesis.
“Gee come and eat. We saved some for you and Patrick.” Mikey said as he walked into the room.
“Thanks Mikes, we’ll be down in a second.” I said and Mikey smiled and walked out the room not shutting the door behind him.
“You should give him my job.” Patrick said and I looked at him.
“I will always listen to what Mikes has to say but you are staying put in the ranks. Mikes knows where he stands in the ranks which is the main thing.” I said and checked on the kid and turned round and walked out the room with Patrick following me like normal.

I was busy watching everyone mess around when I heard the kid move around and so did everyone else and they all stopped.
“He’s awake.” Patrick’s mate, Eden, said softly.
“About Time Too, Thought he might of been dead.” Ray said.
“What you going to do about him Gee, Surely he can’t stay here.” Ray said and I looked at him.
“He’s staying until he’s better and if we like the kid he can stay.” I said and everyone looked at me shocked.
“Gee do you think that’s wise? I mean it’s only you that has complete control of yourself when it comes to being round humans. I mean the kid is driving me crazy right now and I don’t know about the others.” Mikey said and I looked at him.
“Yeah Mikes has a point Gee, I mean I’ve seen the scars on his arms and him being a cutter is going to be a big problem here. I think he’s going to be in more danger being here than being out on the streets.” Patrick said and I looked Patrick.
“You all need to learn how to do control yourselves, if you need help with it at all then you can come to me and I will help you. In the meantime I think that everyone needs to hunt animals and that blood will help with the urges for human blood.” I said and everyone looked at each other.
“But we need human blood. Ideally we need it everyday but we can cope to have it every other day.” Mikey said.
“Which is why I’m suggesting we hunt animals. Not only will it bring the need for blood down, but it will make you able to control yourself a bit better when round the kid.” I said.
“Did you not hear Mikes we need human blood.” Patrick said and I stood up as I heard the kid being sick.
“We start the animal blood tonight. Then we will hunt for a human once a week, as long as you don’t ever go a Day without animal blood then you guys will be okay.” I said and I turned round and I went inside and went upstairs to the kid.

When I got to my room the smell of sick literally made me want to gag but I held it back and walked over to the kid who looked like a ghost and he was crying as he rolled himself into a ball.
“Hey, shush shush, it’s okay. Everything is going to be okay.” I said softly as I touched the kids arm which made him whimper.
“I need to get out of here.” The kid sobbed as he sniffed loudly and he rolled over onto his back and tried to sit up but he didn’t have the energy.
“You need to lie back down and calm down. Your body is weak and you need to rest.” I said and the kid looked at me.
“Fuck off. I am not going to be a fucking prisoner here, I have spent all my life being one and I’m fucked if I’m giving my freedom up now I have found it.” The kid said loudly which made him start coughing.
“Calm down. If you think killing yourself with drugs is a good way to have your freedom then you are wrong.” I said and the kid glared at me.
“It’s my life.” The kid spat.
“I’m not going to lecture you on how to live your life. But you are under my roof, in my house so you will treat me with a little bit of respect.” I said and the kid moved his hands up to his hair and started to pull it harshly.
“Hey, don’t pull your hair, you’ll hurt yourself.” I said softly and put my hand on top of his which made the kid look at me.
“You stink so I’m going to run you a nice hot bath so I can change the bed and put clean bedding on for you.” I said softly and moved my hand from the kids.
“My name is Gerard. Do I get to know your name?” I said and the kid shrugged his shoulders and I frowned a little.
“I don’t know my name.” The kid said quietly.
“That’s okay, you’ll remember in time.” I said softly and I got off the bed and went to the bathroom and start to run the bath and put some bubble bath in it and I walked back into the bedroom and over to the bed.
“Can you walk or do you need me to carry you?” I asked and the kid pulled the covers back.
“I can’t move my legs.” The kid said sounding scared.
“It’s okay, it’s just because you need to have some food in that belly of yours as it looks like you haven’t eaten for a week. You was also fast asleep for the last 3 days so after you had a bath I’ll get someone to make you something nice to eat and a coffee.” I said and the kid smiled for the first time.
“Can I pick you up?” I asked and the kid nodded and I bent down and picked the kid up without any effort since he was so light.

I walked to the bathroom and I sat the kid on the side and turned the hot water off and started to put some cold water in the bath and I turned my attention back on the kid.
“Can you undress yourself or would you like me to help you?” I asked and the kid looked down and I could feel the shame radiating off him.
“There’s no need to feel ashamed. Everyone needs help sometimes.” I said and the kid looked at me with tears in his eyes.
“Nobody helps a kid like me. I’m just a fucking street kid who nobody cares about. Why the fuck do you want to help somebody like me.” The kid said.
“Well I’m helping you. To me you are just a normal human being who needs help and I will help you.” I said and the kid looked down.
“If you’re gonna fucking help then you better get on with it.” The kid said and he looked at me as he put his arms in The the air the best he could.
I got hold of his top and pulled his top over his head and the boy sat back.
“Shuffle forward and I’ll help you take your pants off.” I said and the kid looked at me.
“You’re going to look.” The kid said.
“I’ll look at your face the whole time.” I said and the kid thought about it and he nodded as he pulled his trousers and pants off and I offered him my hand which he took and he took a shakey step forward out of his clothes.
“Let’s Get you in the bath.” I said and helped the kid into the bath.
“I’m going to sort the bed out for you and get someone to get you some food and coffee.” I said and the kid nodded as he lead back in the bath groaning loudly.
I smiled and walked out the room and Patrick was standing in the bedroom.
I looked at the bathroom door and back at Patrick.

“The kid needs food and coffee.” I said and walked over to the bed and went to strip the bed.
“The kid is trouble.” Patrick said and I sighed and looked at Patrick.
“No the kid isn’t trouble. The kid is very misunderstood even in his own mind he misunderstand himself. He needs help and that is what we are going to give him.” I said and Patrick rolled his eyes.
“Gee are you sure you want this weight of him on your shoulders?” Patrick asked.
“Yes. Nobody has been there for the kid and he hates the world because of it. I want to show him that not everyone is like the people he met in the world.” I said and I smelt blood and looked at Patrick who was looking towards the bathroom.
“Pat, Pat. I need you to leave the room and go downstairs and make sure nobody comes up here until I have sorted this out.” I said and Patrick looked at me.
“It’s smells good though, I need it Gee.” Patrick whined and went to walk past me but I caught hold of his arm.
“I understand Pat, really I do understand but you need to get out of this room before it really gets too much.” I said and Patrick looked at me.
“Go downstairs, make sure nobody comes up.” I said quietly and it seem to went through Patrick’s head as he nodded and left the room.
I sighed loudly and went into the bathroom.

The kid was in the bath with his arm bleeding badly and he was crying.
“Hey what’s going on here?” I said softly and the kid jumped and looked at me.
“It’s nothing.” The kid said quietly.
“Then how come your arm is bleeding badly if it’s nothing? That isn’t nothing.” I said and the kid looked down.
“Jump out the bath and I’ll sort your arm out and I’ll get you something to eat and drink.” I said and the kid looked at me.
“Can you get me some drugs?” The kid asked.
“Drugs aren’t allowed in the house.” I said seriously.
“Please, I will give you anything. You want a blowjob or something.” The kid said and I looked at him hard.
“Drugs aren’t allowed in this house. How do you expect people to respect you when all you do is slut yourself out to whoever will give you what you want. I am not that sort of person. Now out the bath so I can sort your arm out.” I said seriously and the kid looked down and looked back at me and I turned round and I heard the kid moved and get out the bath but he fell out the bath.
“Ow.” The kid groaned and I got a dressing grown and walked over to him and helped him up and I put the dressing gown over him and slowly walked him over to the toilet where he sat down.
“Your skin looks sore on your face.” I said softly noticing the scabs all over his face.
“It’s nothing.” The kid said.
“Just like you arm is nothing.” I said and the kid looked at me.
“It doesn’t matter.” The kid whispered and I looked at him.
“It does matter. Everything about you matters.” I said and the kid sighed and looked down again.
I got the first aid box and started to clean his arm.
“You going to tell me your name because I can’t keep calling you ‘kid’.” I said after a moment of silence.
“Frank, my name is Frank.” He said and looked at me and I smiled at him.
“It’s nice to meet you Frank.” I said and Frank smiled slightly.
We fell back into a comfortable silence and I carried on cleaning Frank’s arm.
“You need to have some cream on your face, to help stop your skin from looking so sore.” I said and Frank looked at me.
“Why you being so nice to me, you hardly know me.”Frank said.
“Because I’m a caring person and I don’t like seeing people getting hurt. You need help and that’s what I’ll give you.” I said and Frank looked down.
“I don’t deserve your kindness or your help.” Frank said quietly and I made him look at me.
“You do and I’ll be beside you every step of the way and if you get on with everyone else in the house then you will have a roof over your head.” I said and Frank smiled sadly as he looked down.
“Your arm is sorted and I’ll have to find some cream for your face. But you are now clean and smelling a lot nicer than before.” I said and Frank chuckled quietly.
“Come on, I’ll find you some clothes to wear and let’s get you back into bed and I’ll find you some food.” I said and looked for some clothes and when I found some I helped Frank get into the clothes and helped him back into bed.
“Is This your bed?” Frank asked.
“It is.” I said as I gave frank the remote for the tv.
“Where are you sleeping then?” Frank asked.
“That doesn’t concern you. Is there anything I need to know about before I get you food?” I said and Frank sighed.
“I’m a vegetarian. But it doesn’t really matter.” Frank said.
“It does matter. You like soup?” I said and Frank nodded.
“Do you like coffee as well?” I asked and Frank chuckled.
“All I ever drink is coffee.” Frank said.
“You’ll fit into this house well then.” I said and I walked out the room.

I walked in the kitchen and Mikes was making out with Ray.
“Christ get a room.” I said as I looked for some soup we might have in the cupboards.
“Would But the kid is upstairs and the smell of his blood is literally all upstairs and on you.” Mikey said.
“So the kid had a meltdown when having a bath, who doesn’t these days.” I said.
“Gee, The kid self harms, you need to think about if he is actually going to be safe here with us and you also need to think about if all of us are strong enough to ignore the smell of his blood. Eden had to leave the house because if she didn’t leave then she would of killed the kid. You are playing a dangerous game here Gee.” Mikey said and I sighed loudly.
“The kid is called Frank. We need to make sure that we hunt everyday for animals. Because even though the animal blood isn’t human blood it will help take the edge of things especially if Frank hurts himself which he is likely to do if he hasn’t got the drugs.” I said.
“Gee we can’t live of that sort of blood, we been living of human blood for too long.” Mikes said.
“You think I don’t know that! Christ Mikes I am doing my best here.” I said.
“I’m just saying Gee, you have to listen to us as well as listening to your heart. I know it is hard especially with your gift wanting to help and make people better but you need to think of us as well.” Mikes said and I looked at him.
“You don’t understand Mikes.” I said quietly and I heard Mikey walk over.
“I know I don’t understand but the kid is either cause trouble or he’ll get killed.” Mikes said and I sighed.
“Frank isn’t trouble.” I said quietly and something just clicked with Mikes.
“But you’ll protect him. Like what you do to us if we’re in trouble.” Mikes said.
“You seriously taking Gees side Here Mikes use your fucking head.” Ray said and Mikes turned round.
“Yes I’m taking Gees side here. I am using my head and I know Gee as a leader and as my brother, Gee will protect that kid until his dying breath just like he did when I first got with you. He protected me and he made sure that you didn’t hurt me in the slightest.” I said and none of us noticed Patrick walking in the kitchen.
“Gee knows what he is doing, we all have to respect him and if you don’t like it then you can fuck off. If Gee is saying that we can survive on animal blood then we will. If Gee says Frank isn’t trouble then the kid isn’t trouble. Gee is our leader for a reason Ray and you need to respect his choice.” Patrick said seriously.
I got the soup and the coffee and I went back upstairs to see Frank.

When I got into the room Frank had fallen asleep which made me smile and I walked over and put the food and drink on the side and I gently sat down on the bed and touched Frank’s arm which made his eyes fly open and looked at me like a deer in the headlights.
“It’s okay, I’m not going to hurt you.” I said quietly and Frank started to relax.
“I’ve brought you soup and coffee if you want it.” I said and Frank shook his head.
“I just want to sleep.” Frank said quietly and he looked really hot.
“Your burning up Frank.” I said and pulled the covers off him.
“I’m freezing though.” Frank whispered.
“Withdrawals?” I heard Patrick say from the door and I looked at him.
“Yeah, Hey is my really fuffly blanket around, the last person to have it was Mikes.” I said and Patrick frowned at me.
“I haven’t seen it but I’ll ask around.” Patrick said and he walked off.
“Who was that?” Frank asked.
“One of the People who live here.” I said and Frank nodded.
“Hey can you sit up for me while I go and get you a glass of water. If you don’t want to eat then we need to keep your fluids up.” I said and Frank groaned loudly.
“If I move I’ll vomit.” Frank said.
“Well I have a bowl here for you to be sick in.” I said and Frank sighed and he moved and groaned loudly and heaved loudly and I quickly put the bowl on his lap and he threw up.
“Pat I wouldn’t come in here if I was you.” I said but Patrick was already walking through the door.
“Found It Gee.” Patrick said and as soon as he was close enough for the vomit to hit his sense he gagged loudly and threw up.
“Shit.” Patrick coughed after throwing up on the floor.
“Finished throwing up on my floor?” I asked as I looked Patrick.
“Forgotten what sick smells like.” Patrick said and I chuckled and looked at Frank who had sat back and was panting slightly.
“You finished?” I asked and Frank nodded.
“Here have some water, it’ll cool you down a little and freshen your mouth up.” I said and gave Frank the glass but his hands was shaking badly.
“Here let me help.” I said and put the glass to frank’s mouth and tipped it up a little so he could have some water.
“Feel a bit better now?” I asked softly and Frank nodded.
“Lie back down then and I’ll put this blanket on you.” I said and Frank lead down and I put the blanket over him.
“It’s really soft.” Frank muttered.
“That’s why everyone steals it.” Patrick said and Frank looked at him.
“Rest, I’ll come on check on you later.” I said softly and Frank nodded and he fell asleep.
“As for you, you need to clean the vomit up of my floor.” I said to Patrick.
“Gee I don’t deal with sick.” Patrick said.

“Well you better get used to it. Here clean this out and I’ll clean the floor.” I said and Patrick groaned as he took the bowl from me and went to the bathroom and I cleaned the mess Patrick made on the floor.
